As I write this the Stock Market is down over 1000 points. Is it Limbo Time with the bar going lower and lower.
Enjoyed Ozzy Man stuff. But would not jump/fall off a cliff with them.
Most impressive people stuff, I enjoy watching people doing stuff that is so hard I never knew folk could do that stuff. Bra-Man was most adept, in old days when I tried doing that it took two hands and turning the interior light on in the car, just because, difficult but worth it.
It’s days like this in the stock market where I just keep telling myself that I invested for the long run in good stocks and mutual funds.
In watching the boxer / kick-boxer flailing away on that dummy it occurred to me that the dummy has greater mental acuity than president joke bidet and a much higher level of intelligence than blinken and kamala combined.
What can stop the big contraction in stocks? It looks like the manifestation of some really big problems. I wonder how it will be spun to blame Trump.
Having missed years of opportunities to bring Russia into the West, we now are rushing toward a showdown that we will lose. The Rainbow Flag will end up flying over only a small portion of Ukraine.
OTOH it is hard to see what the solutions might be. Things will just have to play out. The changes are likely to be so dramatic that most forecasts will be worthless.
The fit is truly hitting the Shan.
Hmmm…we may be in this rental house a lot longer than expected. The stock market and the general economy has me really worried about whether we can continue with our plans for building a new house.
I just started a new job in a different city. I got a sizable increase in salary. We haven’t packed up and moved yet and I’m thinking of going back to the old job. Inflation will wipe out the salary increase. But that isn’t why I’m twenties to go back to the old job:
The housing market in the new city is insane — the best we can do will be a mobile home — considerable downgrade from our two bedroom house on two acres. Especially when interested rates go back up. If we see the interest rates of the early 1980’s, we’re screwed. So, we may be better off going back…
I hate the current regime
My favorite was the guy with the shopping cart. That’s the way to do it.
Here you go, Om. Feast upon this Covid Tyranny in action.
Better hope and pray I don’t get locked down and find myself with more free time on my hands 😛
Regarding om’s link at 3:21pm,
For those of you raving about man’s running ability on the orangutan thread:
What’s a mouse’s stride length? According to this, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8560926/
it’s about 2″. An average human’s is about 30″. Extrapolating out that means mice run the human equivalent of 150 – 180 kilometers/day. Every day!
“Idle hands are the devil’s workshop” even in Hong Kong, so be careful what you wish for.

Om,
“… younger mice may run up to 10-12 kilometers.”
Wow!
Having missed years of opportunities to bring Russia into the West,
The missed opportunities exist only in your imagination.
America bad, worse than Xi or Vlad, spoke Z. Must be so, or no.
