Condi Rice on CRT — 26 Comments

  1. CRT is part of the valorization of victimhood. The thing about seeing yourself as a victim is if that is how you define yourself you are going to be a victim. I knew a girl who was abused by her father. She viewed herself primarily through the lens of victim hood and did not have a good life. It was not that she wasn’t a victim but she shouldn’t have defined herself as a primarily a victim. Now, I know that is an easy thing to say but it is true.

  2. These sentiments used to be mainstream for people who are black or white or mixed, right or left, Democrat or Republican. Now they are much less so,

I landed a job in 1991 in a hospital apparat wherein the staff was about 85% female. All of the supervisors were women as was the department manager. About 20% of the staff was black. On the wall in the main cube farm was a sign placed there by the amiable woman in charge. It said ‘No Whining’.

  3. It’s wonderful to hear someone like Ms. Rice say this to a high-number viewership.

It doesn’t help black children to achieve to have adults telling them they “can’t” because someone else is an evil oppressor.

Today, we would never accept teaching that black children are inherently bad, nor should we. We also should not accept teaching that “white” children are inherently bad, or anyone else.

  4. That Rice’s argument that it is wrong to teach children to feel guilty because of their race is now considered racist is another proof of Bari Weiss’ declaration that the world has gone mad.

  5. Rice spoke truth and all the lies in the world cannot change even an iota of that truth. Those of good intent cannot but help respond to it. Those who reject truth, embrace evil.

Evil, of necessity rejects reality because reality and truth are inseparable.

Evil can prevail for a time but it cannot premanently prevail for its foundation lies upon the shifting sands of its own rejection of reality.

  6. Well, it hasn’t been said about HER yet; but, give it time someone on the left will call her a “house slave”*

*Singer Harry Belafonte said such about Colin Powell

  7. *Singer Harry Belafonte said such about Colin Powell

Pleasant as a musician, toxic as a public figure generally.

  8. The saddest thing to me is the certain loss of ALL of the progress that has been made.

Perfect? Certainly not, but so much has changed since the bad old days. One example that has been churning in my brain lately – all of the wonderful folks who are the product of “blended” parents.

  9. I wouldn’t go so far as to call her a House @$%%^& (Charles, you *are* coy)… Bush Mafia Acolyte works for me.

It’s nice that she speaks out against CRT. Won’t make one iota of difference to a single Field @$%%^& out there.

Blacks repudiating the benefits accruing to them from Blame Whitey in whatever shape or form are rare outliers. It’s nice when they do, but Conservatives (hah) have to stop this tendency to break out in song and dance whenever a Black says something in agreement with them. We do not need Blacks to absolve us of our sins or affirm our goodness.

CRT can only be defeated by Whites standing up and fighting this nonsense with resolve. You don’t win a war against you by hoping that your enemies decide that they’re too high-minded to pick on you.

  10. In a sane world, Ms Rice and others like her would rule over America’s Blacks (and them only). The experience would benefit Ms Rice et al, Blacks, and the rest of us.

  11. @JD Keene: You mean like Obama?

Ever seen the Michael Parkinson Muhammad Ali Interview where Ali states his thoughts on miscegenation? 🙂 It’s hilarious. Out of the mouths of babes…

  12. Zaphod:

Ah, so your “sane world” would feature an apartheid monarchy, a Bantustan of sorts in which Condi Rice would be the ruler “to rule over America’s blacks.” Are you nostalgic?

You understand nothing about America and nothing about liberty – but we already know that.

  13. Zaphod:

Re your reply to JD Keene:

Ali gave that interview in 1971, when he was tremendously under the influence of the vile Elijah Muhammed. But apparently you’re an admirer of Elijah M.’s viewpoint.

  14. Zaphod:

Re your remark “Blacks repudiating the benefits accruing to them from Blame Whitey in whatever shape or form are rare outliers.”

I had no idea you had your finger on the pulse of black America so firmly, and from such a great distance. That’s a neat trick.

Oh, and while we’re at at, do you really think that white people in the US aren’t speaking out against CRT? As usual with you, you set up an either/or strawman and then try to knock it down.

  15. Zaphod: “Conservatives (hah) have to stop this tendency to break out in song and dance whenever a Black says something in agreement with them.”

Wow! Zaphod, I usually ignore your often ignorant posts here.

I didn’t “break out in song and dance” because a black woman said something I agree with. I just pointed out that it is often the liberals who resort to racist remarks when someone who is a “person of color” doesn’t toe the leftist line.

As for you to label me as someone who “breaks out in song and dance” because of the race/color of the person I’d just say that your liberalism is showing there pal.

  16. @Neo:

Ali was just saying what most Blacks believe. They don’t particularly like Whites. And we mostly don’t particularly like them. They’re not us. We’re not them. None of this implies hatred; merely that we do better apart.

There are always edge cases. For example serving together in combat can permanently bond a group of Whites and Blacks together. It would be helpful if Mars invaded… then it wouldn’t be an edge case. The rest of the Cuckservative Celebrated Best are beautiful hothouse flowers — few of whom would survive 10 minutes in the Hood… they have to cleave close to Whiteydom for shelter and sustenance.

Contra the deeply subversive (surprise, surprise) lyrics, One Has to be Carefully Taught to believe otherwise.

Looking back at the history of USA post WWII, no objective person could consider Civil Rights, Black Voter Plantation, and the reduction in quality of life of everyone else because the Laws and Standards of civilized behavior are not enforced against Blacks with the rigor that their natural disposition requires to be a net plus.

But You People are Good. What price being Good? Only your civilization going down the toilet.

  17. Zaphod:

Oh, so you were just saying what most blacks believe? You would be funny if your remarks weren’t such a combination of stupid, arrogant, and offensive.

I’m going to be blunt: you haven’t a clue what most black people believe, particularly most American black people. In fact, you don’t know what most Americans of any color believe, or why they value what they value.

They say of certain people who live in other countries that they have an American soul – in other words, that they admire American values and understand them. You are the opposite.

You seem to think that your cynicism displays superior insight. It doesn’t.

One of the consequences of your ignorance about America and Americans is that you keep erecting strawmen to knock down.

  18. Rice is correct about CRT’s major flaws. The issue, however, is that for the proponents, those are features greatly to be desired, not bugs.

  19. @ Richard Aubrey > “for the proponents, those are features greatly to be desired, not bugs.”

Not enough people (black or white) listened to Thomas Sowell over the last 50 years.
Why would enough people pay attention to Rice now?

    https://www.nationalreview.com/2021/10/thomas-sowell-vs-critical-race-theory/

To answer my own question: up to now the victimhood racket mostly affected the black community, and to some extent poor whites. Now, CRT is directly affecting white liberals (D and R) who have the money and professional position to fight back.

That’s a whole different ball game.

  20. Aesop. Not sure which white liberals are going to be affected. Sure, the inner portions of dem run cities are hellholes but…where do libs place the blame? And are they confident enough to place it out loud in a cancel culture? And vote for…shudder…a republican….

As has been said wrt a wind farm. Do not try to place one within a thirty minute drive of a Starbucks. People who like ostentatiously drinking overpriced glop have the clout to see they themselves are not bothered. It’s the rubes out in the country.

I suspect the same mechanism is going to keep the libs on side.

  21. “Conservatives (hah) have to stop this tendency to break out in song and dance whenever a Black says something in agreement with them.”

Although overstated, there is unfortunately a certain amount of truth in that statement.

But … if we grant Zaphod that, or part of it, what does it say – since he is referring to whites – about the class of so-called “whites”, per se?

It says, logically, that there are no whites per se ( no uniform moral class), unless you want to somehow include white skinned: cucks, physical cowards, weak bodied males, emotionally disturbed females, state dependent morons, and the sexually and morally perverted in the elevated class of white civilization bearers …

And to deem them not only worthy of being included in, formally, but presumably of actually deserving of being preserved in their lives and liberty as members in good standing, by the others who do value freedom as the predicate of their form of civilization … Though these add-ins be in fact, moral freeriders and subversives in such a system.

So we have the curious situation – potentially at least – wherein Zaphod, seeing white liberals being slaughtered in the streets as a result of the redounding effects of their own moral insanity and arson, nonetheless wishes them to be preserved from this fate because of some ostensible whiteness quality.

A nameless quality which neither the progressives nor their cuckservative complement cohort seem to manifest in any definable way.

What that quality, supposedly possessed by white cucks and progressives in virtue of their whiteness might be, eludes me.

It was not “Negroes”, my ancestors had to kill in order to preserve their customary liberties almost 250 years ago. It was a white King’s willing white cucks.

They were eventually killed, driven out, or suppressed for a time.

Eventually, of course, more were spawned or imported to take their place.

And here we, more or less, are.

  22. Neo is such a genius. Must be great to be a gender studies major. I am not a dog but I know what my dog wants and thinks. Most sensible people do. As for speaking for blacks I don’t, I just avoid them whenever they are in crowds, its what sane people do. Just ask the lady on the train in Philly.

If you want to see racism in action see how American blacks act in Africa. The first thing they declare is that they are not Africans and have nothing in common with Africans. Quaint given their propensity for African gar and faux customs in the states.
