Biden and the border — 16 Comments

  1. Nobody should be surprised that a guy who had a reporter locked in a coat closet at an event, without suffering any consequences, would hesitate to shut down coverage of anything, anywhere. Transparency for this administration means invisibility.

  2. Driving home and listening to Texas Standard on NPR. It’s all the “previous administrations” fault for this border crisis.

Kate Lincoln Goldfinch is an Austin-based immigration attorney. She told Texas Standard the problems come from a decades-old asylum system rebooting after much of it was halted by the Trump administration.

Why the overcrowding at Border Patrol facilities?

Goldfinch ties that back to the system being gutted by the previous administration, and now has to be “put back online.”

“What we’re seeing is all of these systems being put back together because they were blocked and broken under the previous administration,” she said.

Joe Biden is not even mentioned in the interview or in the online article.

Straight out of the Obama playbook. Blame the previous administration for everything bad!

  3. Did anyone really fail to foresee what he and/or his administration would do, and what the result would be?

    he seems to have…
to thine own self be true was words never heard by Biden

[besides this hides the super decline in babies and families that now is evident clearly… but why notice THAT?]

Experts sound the alarm on declining birth rates among younger generations: “It’s a crisis”

they overshot their goals of population reduction for malthusian reasons… when ever they do this, they cause a big cluster [censored] later on that is a horrid thing ot notice in history. no population ever recovered from below replacement, and certainly not after more than 35 years of this!!! hide the decline has several meanings

  4. I wrote an email to the International Committee of the Red Cross asking them to send people to investigate the humanitarian crisis at our southern border and to counteract the current media blackout.

I wrote it in a serious tone, but I don’t expect anything to come of it.

  5. It’s obvious why Team Biden doesn’t want any coverage of the border crisis because I assume the conditions there are quite a bit worse than they were at the height of the “kids in cages” hysteria. But it shouldn’t be that hard for some Border Patrol whistleblower (there must be quite a few who are outraged about what Biden has done) to leak footage of the conditions inside a detention facility.

  6. The democrats seem to want open borders, but only with Mexico, and don’t care about all the other international borders. I’m referring of course, not to Canada, but to every international airport in the country, where the airlines stop almost all would-be illegal immigrants from coming in, and the few that make it through are immediately sent back.

  7. this hides the super decline in babies and families that now is evident clearly

Fetal-Americans… or People… persons… cells of fetus. The little “burdens”.

  8. population reduction for malthusian reasons

    Planned Population (e.g. Planned Parent/hood).

Has Poe been cancelled? The tell-tale hearts beat ever louder.

  9. I think your take on Biden is about right, Neo. And, living as he does in a blue bubble, he probably really thinks his administration’s approach is what will cement his popularity.

  10. If I were the governor of Texas, I’d load all the illegals on buses, give them a Texas National Guard escort, and send them to Pelosiville. They can sleep in the Congressional offices where they’ll be safe and sanitary, and Nancy can hand out $10 a pint ice cream at 3 every afternoon. AOC can teach all the girls how to cry on cue.

  11. Kate: “And, living as he does in a blue bubble, he probably really thinks his administration’s approach is what will cement his popularity.”

Yes. The blue bubble erases all vestiges of reality from the mind. Biden actually said that illegal immigrants are a “gift” to the country. Yeah, they’re cheap labor and future Democrats. Quite the gift. How can the Democrats be so blind to the damage they are doing. Not to mention the Covid-19 positive illegals that are coming in everyday. Mind boggling.

  12. And the republicans in Congress? What is their response to all of this, aside from some weak words?
Does the USA have immigration laws?
Cannot the Republicans in Congress file a lawsuit with the SCOTUS to demand the executive branch follow the law?
Where is the Constitutional authority for a president to literally overturn existing laws based upon an EO?
Why do the republicans do zero??

And some wonder how a guy like Trump can be so popular.

  13. John Tyler:

What makes you think Republicans in Congress have standing in the courts to challenge Biden’s orders? I am pretty sure they do not.

People keep demanding that the GOP magically DO SOMETHING. Aside from a lawsuit I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t be allowed to file, what would it be? They control neither legislative body. They speak out (and probably tweet too, if they’re not blocked), but the MSM gives their statements short shrift and/or unfairly characterizes them.

McConnell’s statement. Statements don’t accomplish much, but what else can they do?:

  14. Doesn’t Texas have a National Guard under command of the Governor? If Chou BUYden won’t secure the border, Texas can do it themselves.

  15. I posted the Guardian without reading, because of the headline, but all should note that the UK outlet is part of the International Cabal of Leftist Narratives, as shown by their Democrat-preferring pitch.

(leftist spin at work) > “After four years of racist, chaotic, anti-immigration policies by the Trump administration – as well as growing desperation fuelled by the pandemic and extreme climate events – the number of people seeking to enter the US is rising.”

(The number is rising because they know Biden’s Regime will let them in; it would have risen under any Democrat or a Republican other than Trump giving the same message. That’s why we didn’t elect one of them in 2016.)

(note the rote inclusion of “without evidence” because saying makes it so even if there is plenty, because they ignore or dismiss any facts not conforming to the narrative) > “Earlier this month, the Texas governor, Greg Abbott, deployed state troopers and the national guard to the border after claiming, without evidence, that illegal immigrants were spreading the coronavirus.

(Some are testing positive and being released without treatment or quarantine; there actually is no evidence that large groups of “mostly peaceful protestors” or conservative motorcycle fans are spreading the corona either, but the media praises the first and condemns the second anyway.)

The Guardian, as usual, concentrates on individual stories, and they are truly sad.
But the United States cannot single-handedly reform all of the failed economies and criminal corruption of South and Central America, and that is what is driving immigration.

It would require nation-building that we can’t even achieve in our own country.
(Just Imagine CRT in all the schools of Latin America, with some tweaks.)
