The military purge
Actually, the political purge of the military isn’t just beginning. Under Obama, there was a sea-change that involved the top brass, from what we might call “old school” to “new school.” There also was a general movement in the military academies to a more woke perspective. So the military has been changing for quite some time and become more leftist-friendly.
But now the serendipitous Jan 6 riot at the Capitol is being used by the new administration to extend the revamping of the military in a way that is described in vague but familiar terms [my emphasis]:
[Defense Secretary] Austin wants all military units to take an operational pause to discuss extremism as he works to grasp the full scope of the issue and better address the longstanding problem, John Kirby, the Pentagon’s chief spokesman, told reporters Wednesday. The pauses are expected to occur within the next 60 days, but Austin has yet to determine how the stand downs are to be completed, Kirby said.
“The intent is to reinforce the [Pentagon’s] policies and values with respect to this sort of behavior and to have a dialogue with the men and women of the force and to get their views on what they are seeing at their level,” Kirby said. “He wants commands to take the necessary time to … speak with troops about the scope of this problem. It’s a two-way conversation.”
Austin spoke frankly with the acting service secretaries and uniformed service chiefs about his concerns about extremism in the military, including white supremacism, said Kirby, who attended the meeting. The new defense secretary, who is the first Black leader of the Defense Department, wants the service leaders to better grasp how pervasive the issue is within their formations and work with leaders to stamp it out, Kirby said.
My takeaway from the announcement is that, as with most present-day “dialogues” (which has become an ominous word), this will be nothing of the sort. Asking the men and women of the force “what they are seeing at their level” sounds like an invitation for members of the military to inform on each other about micro-aggressions or even about political affiliations. The offenders will either be booted or will be sent to the re-education camps. The entire operation puts the military rank and file on further notice that they should be suspicious of each other and cautious about anything they say.
In addition, one wonders why a stand-down is considered necessary. Perhaps as propaganda to underscore in the public’s mind the supposed widespread, deeply serious, and threatening nature of the problem. A great many of these early moves by the Biden administration and the Democratic Party as well are to whip the public into a frenzy of fear and downright paranoia against the right in general – while simultaneously talking about healing. This is a page out of a very old totalitarian book.
Another goal is to stoke reactive anger and fear on the right and even to provoke further violence coming from the most extreme elements of the right, in order to justify further draconian crackdowns on the entire right.
Destroying the DoD also helps China, enormously. The are getting far more than what they spent, buying Biden, in return on their yuan.
Austin appears to be grotesquely unqualified for the position which he now holds, but few will be willing to state such an opinion. It is also very likely that the goal of the recent meaningless utterances is indeed to provoke the kind of violent response which will engender yet harsher action against the domestic “enemy within.” As always, leftists play the game (whose rules and terms they control) in ruthless fashion against an opposition which is cowardly, feckless, disorganized, often self-sabotaging, and almost invariably spineless.
If the brass really, really pisses off the grunts by falsely claiming that all of them are right-wing extremists, and sending them off to re-education courses, and if it should happen that there is an insurrection led by right-wing extremists, whose side will the grunts be on?
p.s. The guys I knew back then, though we weren’t combat troops, referred to ourselves as “grunts,” considering it an honorific and in solidarity with all enlisteds.
Thanks for being on top of these developments. I saw this announced on my FB feed from a leftist acquaintance who voiced alarm over the “extremist” elements being supposedly uncovered. He was crowing that this should be national news and a headline. As though the military is crawling with “white supremacists” and the “extreme right”. Just a peak behind the curtain reveals that they are likely talking about garden variety Trump supporters. People who are suspicious of the election results and/or just not enthused about Biden and the far leftist elements now commandeering DC. In other words, it is a purge, as you rightfully declare .Biden appears to be a puppet. I’m really worried for this country. All these developments, this purging, is worse than anything I’ve seen in the past.
My takeaway from the announcement is that, as with most present-day “dialogues” (which has become an ominous word), this will be nothing of the sort. –neo
I fear “dialogues” too. I can put up with being hustled into a room, having to listen to some BS, and then regurgitate the “correct” answers.
But being forced to speak personally under duress and possibly incriminate myself is a situation I don’t wish to explore.
Doesn’t sound American to me.
I recall the big deal around the school Pledge of Allegiance back in the 60s/70s. It was settled that if a student didn’t want to say, the student didn’t have to.
That doesn’t seem to be an option with Critical Race Theory and rooting out “white supremacy.”
Not good, just not good. I will add this the the ever lengthening list of not good I have going. BO moved up a whole group of “woke” military that were only interested in getting promoted. The Navy suffered greatly, the many “accidents” at sea attest to that. China is moving way ahead of us with good ships and gaining experience with manning them. The ring countries around the South China Sea are not going to like what happens. Mahan is forgotten.
cdrsalamder.blogspot.com will probably have something about this in the “Diversity Thursday” post from a USN perspective. He is not a wokester.
Not everyone in the military is conservative but I’m pretty sure damn few of them are far-left wokesters. Those who aspire to move up the brass ladder may internalize such stuff to blend in to the bureaucratic environment but there’s no way the great many non-career military members will happily accept it. And the U.S. military is no longer a place for deadenders who don’t want to go to jail. It needs all the smart and capable people it can find.
So, in an America where a bunch of people will never even think of serving and a bunch more are too fat to serve, we’re going to start alienating the existing pool of potential recruits.
If you know any non-native who lives in Taiwan, you might want to suggest they find another place to live and do it as quickly as possible.
Mike
I commented about this on the previous thread.
I suspect that Austin benefited from Obama’s purge of the senior ranks. Now here he is. One wonders what about him was so compelling as to justify waiving a legal impediment to his appointment. The fallout from Obama’s purge reminds me of the suspicions that, fairly or unfairly, attached to some people during the era of blatant quotas. Not healthy for anyone.
There used to be a joke aboard ship; “liberty (shore leave) is canceled until morale improves”. It appears that Biden’s crowd, including notably Austin, have adopted a similar philosophy as a blue print to achieve unity. Someone should point out to them that unity through divisiveness is not a plan for success.
Unless, of course, you are a conspiracy theorist who could believe that Obama (Austin) would like to see a mass exodus of whites from the military. What remained would look like the America we seem to be working toward. Nah.
A wise man said: “The most effective way to achieve racial harmony is to treat each person as an individual with courtesy and respect. The surest way to create racial animosity is to accuse a particular group of racism simply because of their skin color.” Well, actually that was me.
The SECDEF is making a big mistake. This is an all volunteer force. Most of the Marine and Army enlistees are from Red states and conservative families. Over 60% of young military age people in the country can’t pass the physical. When the word gets around that the military is a woke Hell, new enlistees will be more difficult to find., and retention of those whose enlistments are ending will be difficult as well. At this point in time, I would not advise any young person to consider the military as an option. And I spent 21 years in the military – so I’m not exactly anti-military.
Inwardly, I’m seething over what is happening. It’s as if we’re seeing a bunch of aliens taking over the country. Nothing that they are doing makes sense if you want a united, prosperous country.
I would expect retention and recruitment in the National Guard and the active duty armed forces will start falling off pretty soon.
When diversity is more important than competency people get killed and expensive things get trashed, or folks get into someone else’s territorial waters (Persian Gulf/Iran) and they get “detained.” Wokeness, incompetentcy, and racial animosity was implicated in one of the Navy collisions in the Sea of Japan that killed a few sailors and wrecked a destroyer.
Everything the left touches turns to sh*t. The US military used to be one of the most respected parts of the government, they aim to wreck that too.
Doing a quick web check of the military polls for 2020, Trump consistently trailed Biden. It looks like the military women made the difference:
https://www.militarytimes.com/news/pentagon-congress/2020/10/26/poll-trump-backed-by-majority-of-veterans-but-not-younger-ones/
I suspect that one of the underlying motives for all this is to “purge” the military of those who would refuse to obey the illegal order to seize the weapons of American citizens when firearms are outlawed, leaving only those willing to “follow orders” and disarm the American people.
Not three weeks into this ‘new thing’ and they roll this stuff out to mess with our military and I have no real knowledge since my four years in the Army ended in 1970, over 50 years ago. It is my opinion that the Military Trade Schools, the Academies having been turning out professional ‘woke folk’ for a couple of decades, good men and women willing to work hard for their nation but I am not so sure of the fire in their bellies that would keep them moving towards the sounds of the guns.
I also know from family members who did time in the ‘Sand Wars’ that there were too many rotations of those who actually saw combat and dangerous situations and remember while that has been going on there are a whole lot more folks who have been pushing paper in administrative positions and picking up and putting stuff together in maintenance just to keep stuff in the air, wheels rolling, and ships provistioned and sailing. In warfare in the old days they told us it took 25 people to support everyone who actually saw combat with the enemies. Like I said I don’t know but I know that we have worn out our good troops in the last 20 years and I am guessing the enlisted men and women will need to receive some nice pay raises to enlist and re-up.
Since WWII we have had a top heavy military with too many flag officers and staff compared to those who show up in the early morning hours, drink a lot of coffee and do their jobs.
“If the brass really, really pisses off the grunts by falsely claiming that all of them are right-wing extremists, and sending them off to re-education courses, and if it should happen that there is an insurrection led by right-wing extremists, whose side will the grunts be on?” Cap’n Rusty
Critical Race ‘Theory’ allows for no other characterization of whites. Its foundational premise is that even the most leftist of whites are subconciously racist because we’ve all been raised in a culture that is “systemically racist”. By that ‘metric’ no other calculus is possible but that every white in the military is at least subconciously a racist and therefore at base, a right-wing extremist. That equally applies to every white in government as well, so every white US Marshall and FBI agent and cop is at least subconciously racist as well.
There’s no objective evidence in support of Critical Race ‘Theory’. It just ‘feels right’… so it must be true. That it makes all whites ‘oppressors’ and all non-whites innocent victims is just a convenient bludgeon with which to seize power.
The left’s increasing imposition of tyranny, which is just getting started, ensures insurrection. The certainty is that the ‘grunts ‘ will be on the side of the insurrectionists. That is what they fear and what the coming purge is intended to derail.
However, it won’t work the way they intend, as it’s far too heavy handed. Nor will it drive out the 80% that Sen. Cohen revealed the dems fear. The majority of that 80% will go silent and hunker down in a simmering resentment just below a boil.
Most of all, what it will do is further harden the view among that 80% that, the upper echelons in the military and the democrat party’s leadership and ‘activists’ have become domestic enemies of the Constitution they swore to defend…
Watch the CCP move south. Taiwan. Hong Kong. South China Sea.
Indonesia & the Philippines & Papua New Guinea & Australia…
Those are nice countries ya got there folks.
Be a shame if something was to happen to them.
And that right there is why Biden’s “pausing” & purging.
J.J.,
Isn’t it ‘discriminatory’ for volunteers to be ‘excluded’ who can’t pass an ‘arbitrary’ physical standard? Doesn’t ‘equality’ demand that it be dropped? Upon what basis might one imagine that the left will allow military readiness to obstruct ‘progress’?
“When the word gets around that the military is a woke Hell, new enlistees will be more difficult to find., and retention of those whose enlistments are ending will be difficult as well.”
Indeed. Which is the intent.
“Nothing that they are doing makes sense if you want a united, prosperous country.”
The very last thing the left wants is a united, properous country.
huxley,
Assuming that poll to be valid, it perfectly reflects the current state of indoctrination of the young.
John Galt,
Indeed. The left cannot succeed without a compliant military who follows orders, no matter how unconstitutional or depraved. They need a military willing to commit war crimes against American citizens.
Eisenhower made a mistake. The Allies did not win. The Axis just suffered a minor setback.
I am going to assume that it will be “ extremist” for a straight male to resist homosexual overtures or a real female to not want to share post barracks with a “ trans female”. When I went thru army Basic in 92, the drill Sergeants would say, we are not black or white, we are all green, in reference to the BDUs we were wearing. “ Wokism” turns that attitude upside down and will have everybody looking at skin color. I despise the left for their destructive ways!
Doing a quick web check of the military polls for 2020, Trump consistently trailed Biden. It looks like the military women made the difference:
The same pollsters who told you for months that Susan Collins would lose? Women make up 15% of the forces, so how are they ‘making the difference’?
Call me an Incendiary Accelerationist, but I say that whilst these Maoist Moves are regrettable and insane, there *is* a gigantic silver lining:
Greatest danger has always been in being boiled slowly like the proverbial frog.
Pray that they overreach and do so rapidly and with maximum hubris. This way lies the only chance of an awakening and a Scouring of the Shire.
Stalin would be proud.
Zaphod,
Exactly, a bridge too far, I am thinking the majority of the USA who might not have voted for the current guy along with a lot who bought into the story will have a feeling that we need to re-set this stuff. A lot of the other non-white folks have a large stake in the prosperity of this nation and they don’t want to see it pissed away in the name of diversity. Lots of those folk are in the military and they have the backs of their brothers and sisters.
Zaphod, OldTexan:
This brings me back to “Overconfident vs. Desperate” motif. I too believe they are overreaching, though I’m not sure which side of the coin to bet.
Perhaps it’s time to embrace the healing power of “and.”
Trump and his supporters did frighten Democrats when they thought Hillary was just about to sew up Obama’s fundamental transformation of America. Now they aren’t going to miss the chance, or so they hope.
It didn’t start under Obama: the first real purge took place in the first years of Clinton’s first administration when he sacked a couple of hundred flag officers and started promoting lefty O-5s and O-6s…. Tapered off during the Bush 43 years and came back with a vengeance under the ‘Bamster. Trump didn’t have enough support within the defense leadership to do much about the drift of the officer corps. Bottom line is that an officer corps that was committed to the constitution in 1992 is probably 70-30 pro-lefty by now. The officer corps we have today would fire on Americans (if they thought them conservative) in a heartbeat…. the troops, probably, not so much, but there is not much conservative senior leadership left. All retired or cashiered by now….
What differently would a deadly enemy of the US do?
“The military purge”
Give the Left credit. Very patient.
“We’ll just fill the ranks of gov’t workers with passionate Dems. No one will notice.”
“We’ll stop teaching kids math and science and teach them social justice instead. Parents won’t notice.”
“We’ll just purge the military of anyone loyal to the US. The military community will snooze through it.”
This “pause” seems beyond stupid to announce to the world. Might some enemies think that this 60-day window would be perfect for a strike, terrorist-style or other?
Even if they were wrong, it is stupid to lay open such ideas.
A number of political “laws” seem to be in operation with regard to the Deep State, the Democrat Party (in re the radical change from when it was actually supporting America, if with somewhat misguided policies), and the Military Junta now being formed:
For the first, I chose Gerard’s post, from the many available, just to keep things “in the family.”
https://americandigest.org/pournelles-iron-law-bureaucracy/
by VANDERLEUN on SEPTEMBER 13, 2017
Second, a reply to Richard Aubrey’s question, and the observation that all three laws have “shown up” repeatedly in Neo’s posts and commentary over the last few years.
Conquest’s Laws formed the basis of a Screed by Francis W. Porretto in 2003, titled A Cabal Of Its Enemies (h/t blog host Isegoria, in a post that essentially just copies Porretto’s).
Scroll way down past the contents list for the text.
https://web.archive.org/web/20080203035241/http://www.eternityroad.info/index.php/weblog/screeds/a_cabal_of_its_enemies
Third, Porretto turns to the renowned philosopher of political life, C. Northcote Parkinson.
I point out that the recent actions of our “get woke go broke” private enterprises are reducing the contrast rapidly.
Fourth, don’t overlook the additive influence of the Peter Principle of Promotion.
“In a hierarchy, employees tend to rise to the level of their incompetence”
Fifth, possibly not last:
China has bought most of the people in all of the functioning sectors of government, academia, and business.
Errata:
(1) Pournelle’s blog signature sign-off was: “Freedom is not free. Free men are not equal. Equal men are not free.”
(Scrolling backwards on Gerard’s blog from the above link, he seemed to be somewhat pessimistically prescient about where we are now.)
(2) It’s likely that Conquest, a historian, never actually formulated these laws himself, but they are ineluctably tied to his name now, so we may as well go with the flow.
https://skeptics.stackexchange.com/questions/38217/did-robert-conquest-ever-state-his-three-laws-of-politics
John Derbyshire appears to have been the prime attacher, based on his knowledge of Conquest’s works.
https://www.nationalreview.com/corner/conquests-laws-john-derbyshire/
“Of the Second Law, Conquest gave the Church of England and Amnesty International as examples. Of the Third, he noted that a bureaucracy
sometimes actually IS controlled by a secret cabal of its enemies–e.g.
the postwar British secret service.”
(3)Isegoria also discusses the operation of Conquest’s Second Law, which fits in nicely with our own wonderment at the politicization of everything, including knitting clubs.
http://www.isegoria.net/2013/12/conquests-second-law/
The links of the obvious references are at Isegoria’s blog; they are getting too long and too interlinked to keep burrowing down this rabbit hole.
Worth recalling:
“It was said that if fascism ever came to the U.S., it would come disguised as socialism.” -Ayn Rand, “The New Fascism: Rule by Consensus”
“It’s a two-way conversation.”
Yeah, Obama featherweight generals lie, and brave American soldiers, sailors, and airmen have to listen!
“The officer corps we have today would fire on Americans (if they thought them conservative) in a heartbeat…” CatoRenasci
Perhaps. If that ever happens, it will turn out to be an accelerant.
“Give the Left credit. Very patient.” JimNorCal
Their patience is clearly at an end and it will be their undoing.
On every issue, their policies are simply too destructive for success. Inflict enough misery upon Americans and they will rebel.
The dem leadership, motivated by both ideological certainty and fear will respond to fierce protests with disproportionate force. Just as they did with Ashli Babbitt… and that, will be the beginning of the end for them.
“Obama featherweight generals lie, and brave American soldiers, sailors, and airmen have to listen!” Ray+Van+Dune
Indeed and that will increase the contempt those loyal to the Constitution feel for the upper echelons.
AesopFan:
John Derbyshire! There’s a blast from the past. Turns out he’s still alive and writing/broadcasting at the age of 75. He had leukemia back in 2012, so I wasn’t sure how long he would last.
“National Review” 86’ed him after he wrote a piece *in another magazine* in response to discussion then about “The Talk” which black parents give to their children about the dangers of living in a white world.
Derbyshire flipped that around to the talk he said he gave his half-Chinese children about the dangers they faced from blacks. Wiki summarizes:
______________________________________
Derbyshire worked as a writer at National Review until he was terminated in 2012 because of an article published in Taki’s Magazine in which Derbyshire wrote about the dangers allegedly posed by African-Americans to whites.
______________________________________
It takes a very tiny bit of arithmetic while perusing DOJ violent crime statistics to appreciate the dangers posed by blacks to whites. It’s regrettable of course. I don’t claim to know why or what’s to be done about it. But surely mentioning it shouldn’t be an occasion for being fired.
huxley – I have seen the Derbyshire Cancellation cited sometimes as being the warning shot across the bows of the media and society.

Always enjoyed his writing –
This issue with the US military suddenly reminded me of Turkey and Erdogan.
Historically the Turkish military believed they had a sworn obligation, to even stage coups, to uphold Ataturk’s vision of democratic freedom against repressive religious totalitarians. No more.
Obama described Erdogan as his “favorite world leader.” Of course America is not the same as Turkey, but are American progressives inspired by Erdogan’s method?
He systematically decimated and imprisoned the military, journalists, free speech and teachers of “western education.” Now their frog is boiled.
What to do? Can similar techniques be applied here. Who knows. Why not?
Meanwhile, here’s an article with tips on how to prepare for the inevitable difficulties and shortages of a Marxist revolution. Just in case.

Erdogan’s Secret Sauce was Demographics. He represents the rise of of the Anatolian Fellaheen to power over the old cosmopolitan elites of Ankara, Istanbul and Rumelia. Peasants Breed. Cosmopolitans don’t. Keep that up for two or three generations and you end up with your local variant of Kulaks taking over the show given that there’s enough Smart Fraction amongst the rural classes which up until mid-C20 had no upward mobility. Once let go, they’re off like a rocket and have multiple axes to grind with the Old Order. Also, you can put a PhD in Electrical Engineering into a Promising Peasant on a Scholarship easily enough… it’s another thing entirely for him to feel comfortable around members of the Old Order —> natural atavistic urge to crush them to remove repressed inferiority feelings.
Similar thing happened in Sri-Lanka with rise of the Rajapaksa family… and arguably Modi in India — born to family of grubbing Gujarati traders — far cry from rarefied Brahmin heights of the Gandhi-Nehru Dynasty.
Back to the USA: In the short term, purges of officer corps and ranks, etc. sure. Longer term, Demographics is Destiny. Don’t solve the demographic problems coming down the pike, it’s all over anyway.
Erdogan’s Secret Sauce was Demographics. He represents the rise of of the Anatolian Fellaheen to power over the old cosmopolitan elites of Ankara, Istanbul and Rumelia. Peasants Breed. Cosmopolitans don’t.
Rumelia hasn’t been under Turkish rule in 140 years. About 18% of Turkey’s working population is to be found in agriculture right now. The ratio of those working in agriculture to those working outside of agriculture has declined by 60% during Erdogan’s time in office.
I feel bad for the people in the DoD who are in charge of retention. They’ll have their work cut out for them. They only thing they have going for them is a coof inspired bare job market may make putting up with the zampolit worth considering.
Also, as this rots away our ability, it will lead to disaster and many deaths.
The Navy has other problems that more important than these silly things. They have naval officers who can’t steer their ship. Ship building that is substandard, i.e Zumwalt destroyers.
Robert Shotzberger:
There are also the LCS – Little Crappy Ships duo.
With one hand the new administration works hand in glove with elites to see to it that the people are denied a peaceful outlet for protest and change.
With the other hand, they weaken the forces at their disposal to deal with non-peaceful outlets.
I do not think I like the direction this is going.
It’s all one big circle back; DOD,the executive, the congress, media, and big tech
Diversity (i.e. color judgment) [dogma], not limited to racism, is a progressive (“systemic”) condition, and liberalizing at an accelerated pace.
Trump consistently trailed Biden. It looks like the military women made the difference
Secular lucre, social progress, social justice, and human rites. Once you go Pro-Choice (a quasi-religion or its relativistic cousin “ethics”), a taste for abortion, no less, you can’t go back. Progress is an unqualified monotonic process: one step forward, two steps backward.
So much for the military industrial complex. The sociopolitical complex is a multi-trillion dollar racket that swamps the military with respect to treasure (“green[backs]”), blood (e.g. wicked solution), human (e.g. [catastrophic] [anthropogenic] immigration reform) and civil rights (e.g. diversity [dogma]).
Art+Deco:
If you actually knew anything about modern Turkey, you’d know that Turks themselves refer to a chunk of European Turkey as ‘Rumeli’ to this day — especially in the context of contrasting a more cosmopolitan culture with the somewhat more know-nothing rural Anatolian culture.
But nitpick away about the Muh Balkans and the nomenclature of defunct Ottoman Province Names.
Go ask Claire Berlinski if you need to hear it from the right DNA 😛
And you can write a an ocean of ink and fact-checks, but Demographics Remains Destiny. Everything else is second and third order effects… curlicues, flourishes, shiny stuff. Look, Ponies!
Ask David Goldman (Spengler) about that 😛
If you actually knew anything about modern Turkey, you’d know that Turks themselves refer to a chunk of European Turkey as ‘Rumeli’ to this day
Greater Istanbul spans the Bosporus. Istanbul aside, none of Turkey’s 60 largest cities are to be found in the European portion of Turkey. Turkey’s 3d largest city is Izmir on the Aegean coast. Very peculiar to refer to Thrace when it has just a couple of cities of modest population (< 200,000).
But nitpick away about the Muh Balkans and the nomenclature of defunct Ottoman Province Names.
Your whole thesis is that the Justice and Development Party prospers by mobilizing fecund peasants. The demographic weight of the peasantry has declined rapidly since he took office. That aside, have a gander at the election results in June 2015. Erdogan’s party wins a plurality in the provinces encompassing Istanbul, Ankara, Adana, Gaziantep, and Konya. The Kemalists win a plurality around Izmir, and Bursa.
When your whole thesis is dubious, it’s not a ‘nitpick’.
Ask David Goldman (Spengler) about that
I had tangles with Mr. Goldman 11 years ago, when he was peddling panic porn blogging at First Things. Since we haven’t replicated the Great Depression at any time in the intervening years, I tend to ignore him.
The blower of smoke from Hong Kong doesn’t like it when he is exposed. Nits grow into lice, little lies sometimes grow as well.
And some Muslims still claim Spain and parts of France. So what some Turks call non-Turkey counts for what? Otay, millie.
I just figured out who Art+Deco really is
Only one person could be this obtuse.
L. Paul Bremer, take a bow.
Zaphod:
And your point is what? Your feelings hurt so you wish to intimidate someone for pointing out your specious opinion?
Looks pretty small and petty, millie.
The take over by The Left with the military will be like education – the quality will go downhill. Like with much of The Left, they take over things in which they didn’t build, and once the quality drops they’ll shrug their shoulders and move on to their next target. They did what they wanted to do so what does it matter! It’s their own form of colonialism. It’s their own attempt at empire building. Parasites.
All we are discovering is that the new replacements will shoot their own people, which the old ones being removed would not so easily do if at all..
artfldgr:
The Pentagon Princes and the other Ben Rhodes wannabees in the Biden junta might consider how difficult it has been to avoid blue on blue incidents in Afghanistan (local military killing American embeds) for example before they “purge” or cleanse the services. Workplace violence (Hassan of Ft. Hood (racist)) could get commonplace. Naval officers could fall off the boat …, generals could fall out of copters or get run over by ….
Stuff happens.
om – you forgot to mention fragging.
The “invitation” to “dialogue” sounds like Mao’s Hundred Flowers campaign, which turned into death by a thousand cuts.
