More and more and more on Russiagate and on the pursuit of Flynn
There’s so much coming out that I’m mostly going to offer links.
The Federalist details how one FBI agent who later was assigned to the Mueller team has testified about enormous and systemic (that word is appropriate here) misuse of the system to get Trump and his associates:
Barnett painted a picture of a Special Counsel that was run the opposite of the way a typical FBI investigation would be. “Typically investigators push for legal process and have to explain the need for the request to the attorneys. Barnett said the SCO attorneys were pushing for legal process and just wanted investigators to sign affidavits they prepared,” he said, according to the report. He said every request was “green-lighted” and that seasoned FBI agents were viewed as a “speed bump” to the attorneys leading the investigations.
The situation was so extreme that Barnett and others joked about how it was like a game, which they referred to as Collusion Clue. “In the hypothetical game, investigators are able to choose any character conducting any activity, in any location, and pair this individual with another character and interpret it as evidence of collusion,” Barnett said, according to the report of his interview.
Please read the whole thing.
Much more on Barnett here:
…Barnett is identified as the original Case Agent on the “Crossfire Razor” investigation, the foreign counterintelligence investigation of General Michael Flynn…
…Working with his supervisor, the Case Agent makes operational decisions about what investigative techniques to use, and how to exploit information that is developed by those efforts. The Case Agent assigns “leads” to other squad agents — investigative tasks to be performed as part of developing as much information as possible about the target.
The first thing to understand is that William Barnett appears to be a highly experienced agent…
The second thing to understand is that he’s a “brick agent.” He is not in FBI management. He is not a supervisor. He is a working case agent who goes out into the field and gathers information…
Barnett did not “Open” Crossfire Razor investigation and he was never clear what the people who did open it wanted the investigation to look at or do. It was never clear to him what the purpose was for opening Razor.
Barnett didn’t get anywhere with the investigation and was about to close it when he was instructed not to do so and told to look into a Logan Act violation for the Kislyak phone call. He found no reason to charge Flynn under that act, and then:
After the January 24 interview of Gen. Flynn [the one that tried to entrap Flynn and then charge he lied], the Razor investigation became “top-down” — meaning all the instructions on Razor were coming from high FBI management without the Case Agent being involved. He was not invited to meetings or asked for input.
Barnett believes he was purposely “cut out” of the January 24 interview. Normally, a Case Agent and a supervisor would conduct such an interview. Barnett was not told the interview was planned. He only found out about the interview the day after it had taken place.
After that, Barnett asked to be taken off the case because he suspected it would be investigated by an IG.
There’s a lot more at the link. But the whole thing makes me wonder why Barnett didn’t become a whistleblower way back then. I said I wonder, but I think I know the answer: fear.
In a separate but related topic, there’s Brennan’s role in suppressing evidence that Putin and Russia actually favored Hillary Clinton’s election.
Call me cynical, but nothing is going to happen, and not many are going to hear about it as the news media deems what is newsworthy.
Look at this story from the slimes:
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/09/24/us/politics/durham-clinton-foundation-investigation.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage
They call this whole investigation political, it doesn’t matter what conservatives do or say about it, the MSM will continue spin. They’re going to continue to push narrative that all these dirty people were trying to save the country from the evil drumpf and that anyone who believes anything different is a conspiracy theorist. It just gaslighting all of the time.
I guess I will get excited bout all of this when I see indictments for treason and such.
IMHO, nobody will serve time or be indicted. Some may be forced to retire from govt. “service,” (with full pension and lifetime medical insurance, courtesy of the tax dollars of the hated, fly over country, deplorable’s) but they will immediately be hired for beaucoup $$$$$ by the media to be “expert” commentators.
Yep, we need expert commentators to remind us all that Trump and Putin are lovers.
That’s the beauty of a govt. job; you are never really accountable to anybody or anything and if you lose your job, there is a higher paying job down the block.
We are at a critical point for these government people. Trump loses they win, Trump wins, , , , , perhaps there will be some held accountable and they are betting on a Trump will loose. We shall see.
If nothing else, Flynn, Papadopoulis, Page, Manafort, Stone, and a bevy of other people who were ground up in the Russia, Russia, Russia investigation, deserve to pardoned and allowed to sue the government for damages.
People like Comey, Clapper, and Brennan (because they were heads of the agencies) should be prosecuted under any law applicable to malfeasance in performance of government duties. Any guilty underlings (McCabe, Strozk, Page, etc.) should have their jobs and benefits terminated. Going after the head men is the proper thing to do. They are ultimately responsible for operations of their agencies and they all had knowledge of the plot. They can’t say they were betrayed by their employees. Go after them hard.
As Theoden, the king of Rohan in LOTR “Two Towers” says at the beginning of the battle of Helms Deep “And so it begins”. This disclosure seals the doom of the prosecution of Michael Flynn. Barr is using this avenue to release information into the public square about the corruption and criminality that is the Obama administration without the political connotation of a press conference or a DOJ release. The deep state is caught not being able to use one of it’s defense mechanism of “this is a political hit job” and ignore.
The deep state is now caught on the horns of dilemma. Continue the faux prosecution and have even more damaging information released or dismiss the case and Michael Flynn is allowed to speak publicly. Just imagine the scene of Michael Flynn appearing along side Trump at a rally after his acquittal. Imagine now he is allowed to speak about what he saw in the Obama administration. If there is one more damaging release before the dismissal I bet Sullivan will dismiss the case. The Obama administration can’t take much more criminality exposed.
Flynn has been put through hell but now the tables are about to turn. He can now pursue in civil court malicious prosecution charges and RICO conspiracy with treble damages. That is why Trump never pardoned him. His case is dismissed with prejudice and he is free to pursue civil damages where the evidence standard is “preponderance of evidence” not “clear and convincing”. Remember the OJ trial and civil trial afterwards. A pardon would have negated this avenue. Imagine the discovery process in this now that Jenson has it all. Any trial lawyer would salivate at this case if Sidney doesn’t stay with it.
No matter how the election turns out this case can go forward. The evidence released is enough to get convictions IMHO. I would love the opinion of an experience lawyer on this.
Sometimes revenge is best served cold. This is a case that fits.
Finally a shout out to Ratcliffe @ DNI. He allowed this release. A behind the scenes appointment that is weighty with it’s impact.
So what does Flynn know and when did he know it?
What happens if Flynn talks about all the stuff people here think is Ymar’s domain?
That is why Trump never pardoned him.
Ah, intersetinga nd perceptive.
Sparticus;
If Trump loses, the investigation will be halted immediately by the dems.
They will appoint a new AG and she (let’s face it, it will be a black woman) will order the investigation halted and she will “clean house” in the DOJ and the FBI.
Biden/Harris will also appoint a new CIA and FBI head and he/she will also clean house.
In fact, the Federal bureaucracy will be purged – in the Stalinist sense – if Biden/Harris/Obama prevail in November.
If Flynn is exonerated anything he says will be ignored by the media; he will become the invisible man.
If Flynn is not exonerated before Biden takes office, Flynn is toast; he will spend many years in jail, his innocence notwithstanding.
In June/July 1934 Chancellor Hitler authorized the “Night of the Long Knives, in which he had murdered his chief rival and about 100 others within the Nazi Party.
You can expect the same if Biden /Harris /Obama prevail in November. They won’t actually murder their enemies ( I don’t think ) , but they will be dispatched “US style;” that is, they will be “legally” taken care of and for all intents and purposes they will disappear.
The result will be no different if they were in fact murdered.
Oh, by the way, the media will be in accord with all of it, handling as needed the propaganda end of things.
John Tyler @ 9:09 “If Trump loses, the investigation will be halted immediately by the dems.”
I disagree. A civil trial is independent from the USG. The USG can stop it’s internal investigation but a plaintiff in a civil suit can continue through the courts. Look at Judicial Watch and other organizations lawsuits.
The USG can slow walk discovery but with the information now in hand there can be discovery interviews of the perpetrators and they will have to answer UNDER OATH their actions. Note how all the interviewees in Russia Collusion walked back their media statements when they were under oath by Congress. Also don’t think that if Biden wins there will not be a flurry of disclosures of all the information discovered thus far before inauguration day in 2021.
When people face financial ruin they will look to get their higher up’s involved to reduce their penalties. That is how the RICO lawsuits work.
So who will take the bullet for Obama/Biden? The January 5th meeting is damning in and of itself (memo to self). Valerie Jarrett and potentially Susan Rice are the only two I think. Brennan, Clapper, Comey and McCabe will not. Obama better finish his book because he is going to need all that money for legal fees.
“If Flynn is exonerated anything he says will be ignored by the media; he will become the invisible man.” In a court of law the media can ignore a trial all they want but the process and trial will move forward. See how Judicial Watch gets information and then releases it to the public after they get it. Also a trial with Comey, McCabe, Mueller, Weismann and Susan Rice will not be ignored. They have to give testimony under oath and all the CYA memos won’t cover them. Note how the USG bent over backwards not to put Hillary under oath in the “mid year exam” investigation.
Will there be a long knives moment? The democrats will unleash Antifa and BLM on their enemies but the targets live in rich white communities. The neighbors will not take kindly to having their tranquility disrupted. The police will react and I am afraid that if it gets really bad the targets will start shooting back.
The genie is out of the bottle. Antifa will not go home. Like the French sans culottes and Russian peasants they will demand mob justice. The Paymasters have lost control of them.
“The genie is out of the bottle. Antifa will not go home. Like the French sans culottes and Russian peasants they will demand mob justice. The Paymasters have lost control of them.
Ah – but they are not hungry peasants with nothing left to lose. They are mostly pudgy spoiled over-educated white kids who have been playing at dress-up-and-riot, in an arena with over-indulgent police forces. And among them are some truly hardened and trained culture cannibals, with good useful-idiot cover. Remove the former, and the latter is easily captured – although it will likely fade away well before that.
The ante has been upped for Sullivan, if he has been holding out in order to persecute Flynn. Wouldn’t it be interesting if he’s been holding out in order to see DOJ forced to clean its house though (absolutely no evidence of this)?
Sparticus;
Well I certainly hope you are correct and if Trump wins, our discussion is somewhat moot.
I sure would like to see a bunch of traitors hanged – in the literal sense.
But – yep, I bet you were waiting for the “but ” – a Biden / Obama admin will engage in every dirty trick including targeted assassinations, every illegal maneuver (e.g., evidence disappearing ), a spate of “suicides” of key figures, etc., to thwart any investigation of their traitorous activities.
(Putin’s enemies seem to suffer greater than average exposure to nerve agents or practicing their diving skills jumping off upper level building balconies. Some coincidence, huh?).
Please recall the unsolved murder of former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich. It really is hard to believe this was not a authorized “hit.”
And supposedly (not sure if it’s just an internet myth) many witnesses to Bill Clinton’s activities in Arkansas and later wound up six feet under.
And all the conspirators – Obama and his bunch – need do is threaten to kill any judge(s) that rule “incorrectly” or even any of the defense attorneys; just enough to make them quit. Better yet, just have the “right” people ask them how their families are faring health wise.
Your arguments are based on rule of law as they are intended to work, and I hope you are correct.
My point of view is that if Biden wins, the rule of law at all levels will for practical purposes cease to exist. The deep state up to the very highest levels of govt, plus with the willing support of the media, can and will cover up or make disappear, anybody and anything.
Anyway, I sure hope Trump prevails and if not, the investigation proceeds as you have described.
Revelations pouring out about Mueller et al.’s corruption is becoming a flood.
But with the MSCM news blackout, will any of it matter?
And of course the long knives are out for Amy Coney Barrett
But then the Democrats—unfortunately for the country and all its citizens—are long past the point of no return.
And yet, there is some hope out there:
https://twitter.com/EdWhelanEPPC/status/1309862526432276480
John Tyler @ 12:28 – Good points but here is the issue. People can be disappeared but documents don’t. There is enough of a document trail that it can be compelled from the USG. Also a one off mysterious death can be ignored but not a trail of bodies. The process is too far along.
I am convinced reading what has been released and also statements from Barr and Trump that major information is going to drop….big time. When it does the defendants are going to have a hard time explaining it away.
Remember a civil trial is independent from the USG DOJ. General Flynn has all the legal remedies available to him. When it come out that there was no basis of charges then all the participants are at risk. Sovereign immunity will not cover them as they were “out of process” hence they lost that shield.
It is going to be interesting.

“It is going to be interesting.”
Already is incredibly fascinating in a putrid, nauseating kind of way….
Here’s Andrew McCarthy on the summing up—so far (AKA ‘How the Obama administration does things “by the book”‘):
https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/09/steeles-dossier-source-was-a-suspected-russian-spy/
Key graf:
‘…a suspected Russian spy was used by our government to frame an American as a suspected Russian spy. A good friend of mine likes to say, “It’s always worse than you think.” That’s a fine epitaph for the Trump-Russia investigation.’
And it’s going to get even worse. (“Tis the way of Obama world”.) Count on it.
Note: When McCarthy, above, states “frame an American as a suspected Russian spy” it should be noted, as he does further up in his article, that this is not “any American”, but Carter Page, who was a CIA asset who was himself spying ON the Russians for the CIA. (That is, if the insane irony isn’t insanely ironic enough already….)
It is easy to ignore Ymar. Not as easy to ignore the world when it goes as predicted.
Great comments, all. And, the follow up, as well. Perhaps Supreme Court here comes General Flynn (not just Michael). The the crap will hit the fan and the rats will start to squill and blame, blame, blame. Oh well, they all have liability insurance, with limits, after reached, dig baby dig, into your own pockets. That would be the highlight of my 85 year life!!!
P.S. Obama may become part of the mix, or, is he too big to be charged? Equal justice BS.
I’m really tired of seeing reports about the Trump Administration prosecutions to come that just never arrive. Thus, I see a report out today that Barr is working on a gigantic Sedition and Conspiracy prosecution that is going to be nationwide in scope. *
Will we ever see this or any other prosecution by the Trump Administration? I really don’t think so.
If AG Barr is actually trying to put together this and various other prosecutions, my impression, from what I have seen of him, is that he is going to try to apply traditional, Mr. Nice Guy, gentlemanly methods and standards and, if he is, his methods are just not sufficiently robust, not merciless and implacable enough to do the kind of “Hammer of God” type of operation he needs to run to catch and to prosecute those he is dealing with.
Those he is trying to deal with have shown no mercy, and neither should Barr.

Snow on Pine: Preach it, brother!
I guess the RussiaGate efforts haven’t been entirely for naught — maybe Democrat leaders lost a few nights sleep here and there or been a trifle restrained in their more recent efforts at sedition.
Maybe Trump likes to have the threat of a big public prosecution in his back pocket, just in case.
But if one believes, as I do, that this is the biggest political scandal in US history, well, it’s a mite disappointing that so little has come of it.
P.S. -Those on the Left apparently think that their generation’s at the work of subversion and replacement–Gramsci’s “Long March” Through the Institutions and Culture”–has advanced sufficiently that “their time has come.”
Thus, some on the Left are making their bid, are trying to foment, to use all the tools in their arsenals–electoral victories in key positions, political correctness, cancel culture, violence, and intimidation–to jump start a violent Revolution–with it’s aim the destruction of our Republic and all of the Freedom and Rights it guarantees, and it’s replacement by some form of a Communist dictatorship, one in which the State will dictate which–if any–Rights and Freedoms might remain to us.
This attempt at Sedition and violent Revolution is “as serious as a heart attack,” and should be taken just as seriously.
Thus, any actions taken to stop those trying to carry out this Sedition and Revolution should be carried out with commensurate force, seriousness, and dedication.
Now, while these acts of Sedition and attempted Revolution are relatively small in size and limited geographically, is the time to use overwhelming force to crush them.
