Donations, please! [BUMPED UP – scroll down for newest posts]
(This post will be retired after the weekend. But of course, you can donate any old time.)
I would be deeply grateful if you decide to click on that Paypal button on the right sidebar (or towards the bottom of the blog if you’re on a phone) – the one that says “donate” – and contribute to the running of the blog. Every single bit adds up, and you’d be surprised at how much it helps. I thank you all in advance.
I don’t have ads because I don’t like them. I don’t have paid content. It’s just me, myself, and I, doing this for the last nearly-sixteen years. Yikes!
I will probably keep this notice at the top of the blog for the next week, the equivalent of jiggling that cup/hat.
And many many thanks to all who have contributed in the past. I’ve been very touched and gratified.
Tried to do a donation, some weirdness happened. After I put in my credit card number, I entered my name, which on most donations forms brings in address, email, phone #, etc. What it did was to clear the screen and bring up a new form showing the Country as Moldavia.
Donation done to our Neo
who is ever gracious and sagacious!
It would be kind of fun to donate in some obscure currency.
I have been setting aside some “mad money” for my own indulgence, but in a world gone mad I prefer to indulge in the sanity, perspective and thoughtfulness of NeoWorld. Wise analysis and insight plus all those asides, from dance to makeovers, from funny bunnies to Robert Frost, to little tender comic surprises. She makes me THINK! We all love it, so let’s pony up for Neo!
Sent a bit your way — keep up the good work.
OK, finally got it to work..failed 3 times with different credit cards, all of which I know are good, finally worked with the PayPal option.
I find PP as means to use credit cards is pretty flaky; almost wonder if it’s deliberate to drive people to their own payment system.
Ka-ching.
Done done!
No CC problems.
Thank you!!!!!
OK, I donated. It was a small gesture of gratitude to Neo for her work in maintaining this site, a welcome oasis of civility and reasoned debate amid the vast wasteland of the Internet.
Happy to support a sane, thoughtful and courageous voice. A scarce commodity these days.
Thanks, Neo.
A pittance, but every bit helps 🙂 🙂
I cancelled Netflix this week, so I have $ for what I watch/read/appreciate a lot more. Thanks for all you do.
Neo
I’ve tried-for many years-and failed to donate to thenewneo.
Share use of desktop with another. Creates confusion. I tried PayPal today.
my request was denied because email address belonged to another. Didn’t have computer skill to work it out.
FYI I’ve successfully donated to “Bill Whittle-Firewall” . $ 9.95 /month. No paypal.
Very user friendly.
Can you or your commentators suggest a way for me to donate to “thenewneo”?
Never had such a hard time giving money away!
Ive done it, but I usually forget. So I bought a book about the Supreme Court.
Rose:
I appreciate the effort. I did some research a while back to figure out an alternative to Paypal, but nothing worked very well and I finally gave up.
I did not choose PayPal just put in my cc info. It still goes through PayPal but you don’t have to have a PayPal acct. (if that helps to anyone who tries)
I am digging deeply for a generous contribution (for me). I encourage others to think of the many ways this remarkable blog enhances our efforts to learn and think and communicate for a better world. All the while, Neo’s frequent posts that are not political are enriching on topics I would not have sought, on my own. We should encourage Neo to continue making this her full-time job. I dread the day when she reduces her remarkable and truly unique blog.
“…Moldavia…”
Hmm. Could’ve been worse. Could’ve been Nigeria…
For anyone who gets hopelessly lost inside the dizzying maze that is PayPal, know that there is hope:

And if all else fails, I wonder if this would work…:

(BTW many, many thanks for this blog!)
Done! Least I can do. Thank you for keeping me (somewhat) sane.
Donation went on through with nary a hitch.
Selected “Credit Card” instead of “PayPal”.
(I assume these transactions are secure.)
Thanks for your hard work (a labor of love for sure) and dedication, neo.
Your friend,
M J R
Done. Used credit card, which option wasn’t working last night. It required my phone number. I would very much enjoy talking to Neo, but hope I won’t be getting a lot of sales calls from someone else. 🙂
Truth is becoming harder and harder to come by. It can be found here. What a grace. Thank you Neo.
Donated to the author of a daily read. Thanks for the sanity in an increasingly sanity-challenged world.
Onward, clc
I’m glad to make a small donation to a rational writer.
Thank you for doing what you do Neo!
Just sent a small donation your way from Kicaster, Texas. I find your blog to be most excellent.
Paypal worked (I think…), but credit card payment did not. At any rate thanks for the great work!
Happy to support you, Neo.
Everyone who enjoys Neo might want to give some thought to donating
$5 or $10 a month. PayPal works great.
In addition to a small monthly donation, I’ve created a shortcut on my desktop for the purpose of making all my Amazon purchases through Neo.

Donation made!
I seldom do this, but neo’s content is exceptional.
Often, I read a post of hers and she crystallizes a thought I had, but fully fleshed out and sometimes supported by research she has done. But even when there’s no associated research, it’s comforting to know someone else feels the same way.
I subscribe to Burt Prelutsky, Don Surber & now this.
The lady is very inciteful.
Upped my annual subscription because this is more fun than going to the movies, even when we could go to the movies.
One of my very favorite blogs. Thoughtful, articulate, interesting, and intellectually honest posts. And a fantastic community of commenters – rare! I made a donation.
Already contributed Via PayPal – had no trouble.
Hope you got my Benjamin.
