Shhh! Contact tracers for COVID cannot ask about attendance at protests or riots — 14 Comments

  1. Some preliminary data on this topic out of Minneapolis showing just 1.4% of some 1300 tests so far of protestors being positive. So I guess all the social distancing/masks really has no effect. But I guess the politicians will make sure we all have to keep this charade up even longer. Though in my little corner of the world I still hear a lot of sheeple saying they are still quite scared of this waning virus and actually don’t want things to open up. Basement hiders.

  2. So I guess all the social distancing/masks really has no effect.

They’re out in the open air.

  3. I think you mean “protected” rather than “protested” in your first full paragraph.

  4. Ah, yes, masks.
I sat in a medical waiting room this morning. Most of the chairs (>75%) were marked “Don’t sit here: social distancing”. One of the three waiting was a grossly obese 60 year-old woman with a bold upper arm tattoo, whose mask was under her nose.
    Sign of the times.

  5. “They’re out in the open air.”

Art Deco, of course they are where the chance of infection is basically zero, so the results are not surprising at all. My comment was meant to be sarcastic. However, the Brix/Fauci show was stating there would be this huge spike in cases because of the protests. And, at least in my state, the governor still wants social distancing and masks even in open air.

  6. They want you to wear masks in open air settings as well as indoors, or haven’t you noticed? The magic 6 ft (2 m) distance applies everywhere especially if you’re of or in a non-woke situation. They will tell you which situation the virus respects.

  7. And the Chasidic Jews’ park/playground that was closed was also out in the open air.

Didn’t matter. Had to be closed.

  8. I had to laugh today as I picked up a mobile order at a local Sees Candy outlet. They had marked stay 7 feet apart, not 6 on the sidewalk. I guess they are especially cautious, but why not 10 feet? The lady opening the door with the dutiful mask on held my bag out away from her body like I had the plague.

  9. The data is useless…
might as well have half of them dig holes
and the other half fill them up
put them in a circle, save time and space

  10. “In other news, de Blasio is out sick with GI problems”
    ________

Won’t do any good. He’ll still be full of it.

  11. Contact tracing, at this late date in the epidemic, is pretty pointless anyhow.

The continued war on strict Orthodox Jews is disgusting.

  12. Over the last six days, there has been an increase in cases in OK, mainly in Tulsa and OK counties. Some of the increase may be related to some cases in a factory, but most of the increase is in the 18-35 age group (418 cases, 20% increase), followed by the 36-49 group (203,12%) and then the 50-64 age group (136,8%). The 65+ group had a mere 67 new cases, or a 3% increase over the six days.

However, the scary part is the increase in the 0-4 group (24) and the 5 – 17 group (90). The numbers are small, but the % increase is great – 21% and 27%, respectively.

A side note – there are under 170 people in the hospital due to C19, we have 30% vacancy in ICU and 36% vacancy in the Med/Surg beds.

Please note that the data is from 6/10 to 6/15. So, the Memorial Day weekend impact should have occurred by the 10th. Since we are reopening , I am seeing more cars driving around and in lots, but the stores are still somewhat empty & I see masks/distancing or distancing being respected.

So, I wonder what else happened in the downtown areas of Tulsa and OKC that would attract young people? Marches??

I’m sure that any increase in cases in OK from Saturday will be attributed to Trump and the rallies, even though there will be some protests going on in the area. I’ll be sensible and watch on TV. And then be very careful for the next few weeks.

  13. In other news, Blasio welds park shut so orthodox Jews have to cut it open
the old times have returned… and they dont recognize themselves

sit back, pop the popcorn, and enjoy the ride….
way to late to do anything… the time for that was long ago
when it wasn’t easy to see and the posts were long and full of boring…
