No, your account has NOT been suspended
[BUMPED UP. Scroll down for new posts.]
A lot of people are getting that message (“Your account has been suspended”) when they try to comment.
It is a glitch that has been fixed. I have no idea why it happened, but everyone was getting that message—including me! It may persist for a while because of caching. I suggest clearing your cache and if you’re on wifi you may also need to unplug and then replug in your router.
Sorry about that. Very strange, but apparently not a hack, according to my host.
After you try the cache clearing and the unplugging and replugging, you should be able to comment. If you still have problems doing so, please email me.
[ADDENDUM: Strangely enough, the long-lamented and deeply-desired edit function seems to have come out of hiding for a lot of people. Let’s hope it’s not just a cameo appearance.]
Hoorah! It works.
First thought was wow what did neo say that got her booted.
Second thought was somebody forgot to pay the bills.
The fact is that, given how many conservative websites and commenters have been systematically shut down over the last couple of years—such silencing becoming more and more wide-spread and frequent by the week, it seems to me—finding that Neo’s account was “suspended” seemed very likely.
Worth a shot.
Whoa. The 5 minute edit window is back, too. Be still my heart.
Whew!
cookie issue…
went in and just deleted yours.
Test comment-
Ha! It worked, and here’s my friend Mr. Edit, back from his long voyage into the unknown.
What Snow on Pine said– I also thought that “cancel culture” had been at work here too. So glad to find out that everything is fixed!
The email to the webmaster also bounced.

Probably the CIA, which more and more resembles the Stasi, probably at work.
I know a whistle-blower who says he heard some people talking about an email that Neo wrote about the company that owns the blogging software. It turns out she tried to extort some better software out of the company, but they caught her making unsympathetic remarks about a transvestite reading aloud at her local library’s children story hour. The reading wasn’t so bad, but when the cross-dresser started rolling around on the floor with all the little children, Neo was heard to remark that they were being too loud. Everybody decided, then and there, to reveal her software extortion scheme. Of course, the company was left with no choice, and her account was suspended. This is all true, not a parody, I swear.
And there we thought you were just cranky with us.
😉
Hoo-ahh
Okay, going to give it a shot; has editing returned for me, too?
…
Wow! It has!
Happiness is posting something, rereading it, finding a grammar error or bad copy-paste, and NOT HAVING TO LEAVE IT THERE.
I have a comment that I have tried to post on three different threads with no success, although other comments have gone through just fine.
????
I don’t see any obvious no-noes in the text; nothing out of the ordinary for me, anyway.
See – no problem with this one.
Hmmm.
I’ll play around with it some more.

shortened the post and got it onto the Convenient Change thread.
Still don’t know what the system didn’t like.
At least Edit came home from its vacation.
This site doesn’t even use accounts. So how can your account be suspended… sighs.
At least edit came back as a result of my magickal/divine manifestation. Maybe this error had to break the whatever breaking the other code.

I found out through trial and error, there are various words that spammers use a lot. If you use a combination of those letters, you get auto filtered. Certain drug names for example.
My Edit was still AWOL as of my last comment, ~ 15 (?) min. ago.
I tried clearing Neo’s cookies and restarting FF. This is a test to see if Edit is back.
Ixnay. 😡
I am a sad sack refugee from the late, lamented, Protein Wisdom.
I deserve to be suspended.
Just in case.
Because a random protein might spit out something completely untoward.
