Julian Castro gets the gold star for woke-ness effort — 38 Comments

  1. What’s with the “also”? Is Castro distinguishing between “a woman” and “a trans female”? How woke is that?

  2. He went on to pledge that he would appoint judges who would uphold Roe v. Wade (1973)…

Human life from conception. A human being from around the fifth week with the presumptive development of consciousness. Abortion rites are a political indulgence with the belief that women do not have the capacity to comprehend the reproductive process and are incapable of accepting responsibility for their choices. Pro-Choice is two… perhaps three choices too late and an unprecedented violation of human rights. A wicked solution.

    Woke and sleepy.

Trans/homosexual females conceive? Not as a couplet.

Here’s to progress and reducing human life to donors and incubators.

That said, political congruence (“=”) is notoriously Pro-Choice or exclusive. Once progressive liberals hacked the roots of evolutionary imperatives, it is no longer moral… ethical to limit PC to the transgender spectrum and couplets. The bigotry is profound and progressive.

  3. I had no reason to watch the Dim Debates and reading the splash back it was a good decision to read my book. I was accepting of first trimester abortion in a few difficult situations when Roe v Wade was decided in court and allowed abortion. I had a friend who was a GP Doctor at the time who was pro abortion but living in Oklahoma City as we were at that time he told me that if he allowed abortions to become part of his practice he would be drummed out of town by the other docs.

Times have changed and now they have lowered to bar to allowing human sacrifice of live born infants for the good of woman and mankind and any other strange kind. Perhaps the next step will be a 48 hour grace period where either the father or mother could decide if they wish the outside of the womb embryo to continue existence. They, the hard left, are truly heading that way.

  4. When you send your billionaire guilt check to the IRS will it be in bit coin or libra?

Trade war: US and China agree tentative truce before G20 summit

    Clown world… honk honk..

screw chicken in every pot and the pot, we go for amounts equal to a house!
who can out bit each other over others money
and ya have to love warrens “we HAVE to structurally change our” society basically

reminds me of that wonderous quote from florence nitingale on women

  5. Life imitates art. History repeats itself, first as farce, then as political debate.

yeah, but who started this idiocy? who lysistrada a whole society, bullied, and on and on? to the death of 75 million unborn, and politicians talking about a medical insurance that dont work (cause maybe 100k people who cant pay for necessities coming over would do what to ANY idea such as that once limits were violated…

    they WANT civil war…
they will pretend what they do will not bring it
then say “what, we didnt know… how could we know?”
not their problem on that level
but if you give them power to control how you pee (sitzensrpitzers), they will fix the woild.

  6. That scene ranks nearly as high as the stoning where the bearded men throwing stones onto the chap in the pit…are soon revealed to be… women!!

  7. Think of the debates as a group therapy exercise in moving the Overton Window: after hearing some of the real crazies, we are supposed to be relieved to have a relatively sane candidate when Biden or Warren gets the nod.

  8. I didn’t bother to watch. As I have no intention whatsoever of voting Democrat, why bother?

Babalu blog brought forth an interesting point. Democrat candidates hold first 2020 debate in Miami, make no mention whatsoever of Cuba or Venezuela.

Of course, the topics of Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua are sore spots for the Democrat Party. Not only do these countries provide a perfect example of the brutal repression and misery caused by socialism, Democrats have been defending those dictatorships for decades.

Nevertheless, they are the ones who decided to hold a debate in Miami, home to many exiled victims of these totalitarian socialist regimes. Their refusal to even acknowledge these victims while visiting their home shows incredible cowardice. Unfortunately, this lack of moral courage surprises no one.

Granted, not all Democrats defend these regimes. But enough do. I voted Republican for the first time in 1988 out of disgust at prominent Democrats like John Kerry making nice with the Soviet-imperialist-supporting Sandinistas.

  10. Unfortunately, modern society is becoming a dark mix of Monty Python and George Orwell. It’s all as crazy as any black comedy out there, but I am not laughing. Not. One. Bit.

  11. Gringo, it does indeed sound odd to have this event in Miami and totally ignore Cuba and Venezuela.

  12. Just as well they ignored those two socialist paradises….

If they had talked about them, it would only be to blame the US for it’s anti-paradise policies.

(Of course, for those who are sorely disappointed, there’s always the next debate to “get it right”….)

  13. Sadly, more and more of modern life resembles the Monty Python sketch called “The Argument”. Try Mr. Barnard; room 12

  14. You left out Cory “Sparticus” Booker’s Trans Moment:

“Look, civil rights is someplace to begin, but in the African American civil right community, another place to focus was to stop the lynching of African Americans. We do not talk enough about trans Americans, especially African American trans Americans and the incredibility high rates of murder now,” the New Jersey senator said.

  15. We do not talk enough about trans Americans, especially African American trans Americans and the incredibility high rates of murder now,” the New Jersey senator said.
Was the Senator from New Jersey talking about the high murder rates of trans in general or about the high murder rates of blacks in general, or about the high murder rates of black trans specifically? The CDC points out that the black murder rate is eight times the white murder rate.

Which murder rates are you talking about, Senator?

  16. Gosh, if they’d only bring back the Trans Am….

    I mean THAT WAS criminal!

  17. Barry Meislin — the mineral composition of asteroids is well known: See John Ringo’s “Live Free or Die” series, which I wish to hell he’d start up again instead of that stupid zombie crap.

  18. So I saw about five minutes of tonights Democratic 2020 POTUS debate and it was, er, painful to watch. Outcry on a white office shooting a black guy while putting pressure on the major of South Bend on why de-escalation officer training hasn’t happened yet in Indiana, talks about slavery reparations (met with great applause by the audience) by some elderly woman on the far end of the panel, Kamala Harris saying that as a nation we should have an honest talk about racism (cites her experiences as a child and claims that every black male she knows has faced either discrimination or racial profiling). Same old modern liberal worries and pet issues.

Folks, it looks like we may be en route to solving the reparations “issue”.

If I can believe some of the things I’ve read over the years, the primary reason gold and precious metals / gems have the value they do is because the producers restrict their supply to the market.
Flooding the world with more gold will not make anyone rich; it will simply destroy its value.
However, if the constraints on mining are high enough so that production is naturally curtailed, that would make a difference.
If you want to get rich off the gold rush, though, don’t mine it yourself: sell supplies to the miners.

  20. Btw, I recommended to friends and associates to get their money out of volatile stocks and commodities (contracts and futures) except perhaps for oil energy or gold/silver.

Things are going to get “tragic” or “surprising” in the week before and after the July 2 Eclipse.

The Celestial charts are a bit too dangerous, even with the Demoncrat primaries and Trum G20 trade wars ongoing.

Well, a scarce resource is already limited. So they restrict their supply to the market mostly because over selling will tank their own profit. So since the supply is scarce, there is no one that can undercut the producers. What are they gonna do, produce more? Sure, that’ll last for a week or two. But demand and supply just means they sell for bottom of the barrel pricing, while the other supplies can hold back, and sell when the price goes back up, which it will since they don’t have multi billion tons of gold around to create out of alchemy or fracking.

Scarce commodities can be controlled via central market schemes, ala Diamond. Diamonds are rare? oh no, they are not. Gem quality diamonds perhaps, but diamonds, no. They can be artificially created after all.

  22. One of the reasons why gold silver platinum is stable is because of fiat currencies.

Fiat currencies can be watered down with an indirect tax via inflation or the Federal Reserve printing themselves more of a pay check and interest rate raise.

  23. Go here for some observations about the second debate —
Same story, second verse; could get better but it’s gonna get worse.
Our generation was actually pretty savvy in second grade*.

*Let’s add: Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
And, if it ain’t broke – don’t fix it; if it needs fixing, you probably broke it yourself.

  24. If you want to get rich off the gold rush, though, don’t mine it yourself: sell supplies to the miners.

AesopFan: Couldn’t help but remember another Jack London story which scarred my psyche as a child. This guy puts together 1000 dozen eggs and heads to the Yukon to make a killing selling them to the miners. Since it’s a Jack London story things somehow don’t work out.

David Rasmunsen was a hustler, and, like many a greater man, a man of the one idea. Wherefore, when the clarion call of the North rang on his ear, he conceived an adventure in eggs and bent all his energy to its achievement. He figured briefly and to the point, and the adventure became iridescent-hued, splendid. That eggs would sell at Dawson for five dollars a dozen was a safe working premise. Whence it was incontrovertible that one thousand dozen would bring, in the Golden Metropolis, five thousand dollars.

Jack London, “The One Thousand Dozen”

Jack London seems to be a writer who has completely fallen off the radar. Even though he was a serious leftist.

  25. huxley: never mind.

What political party was Jack London a part of?
    Socialist Labor Party
During his early years in Oakland, California, London joined the Socialist Labor Party of Oakland. By 1897, the Oakland Times labeled him the “boy socialist.” London’s involvement in the Socialist Party continued through most of his life. He even ran for mayor of Oakland as a socialist candidate in 1901 and 1905.

Jack London: When Socialism Was Racist | The Liberty Conservative
Dec 14, 2016 – Writer Jack London, born 140 years ago this week, typified what would today be condemned by leftists as “political incorrectness.”

(that one comes up on Google hits, but is no longer accessible; I tried 3 browsers)

Here is a sampling of the arguments for and against socialism being ideologially racist.

Apologetics for the socialists, just to be fair and balanced; they are basically of the format, “Marx & Co. were certainly racist, but we are getting better; no, really!”
