The NY TImes thinks Trump should get his border money — 10 Comments

1. I think the NYT is referring, without explicitly saying so, to the ‘humanitarian’ crisis, not the sovereignty crisis of millions of aliens seeking to enter illegally.

2. The Sulzbergers figured out they are losing control of their border…

Spetsnaz are on the continent… and one general…

and potentially we have very mobile tactical nukes present (said congressman Mario Diaz-Balart )

Thanks to Hillary sales, we no longer can finger print them…

It was all fun and games…

The Sulzberger family: A complicated Jewish legacy at The New York Times
Throughout the generations, the paper has maintained a veneer of objectivity — even as it buried stories of WWII atrocities against Jews

The younger Sulzberger is the sixth member of the Ochs Sulzberger clan to serve as publisher of the prominent New York newspaper. He is a fifth-generation descendant of Adolph S. Ochs, who bought the newspaper in 1896

Who could fathom the sulzbergers?

3. This morning I heard the part about the NYTimes claiming that it is no longer “a made up crisis.”

While they do think that conditions are deteriorating, their primary concern is that things have deteriorated for the illegals. The Times’ solution? More funding to better cater to an increasing number of illegals.

Message: The Dems must concede the crisis. But do so while simultaneously pivoting towards the humanitarian tactic that will help promote the flood at our southern border.

4. The NY Times admission that, “President Trump is right: There is a crisis at the southern border.” will I predict come back to haunt the Left. After all, they are “the newspaper of record”.

Arguing over how the money be used is effectively “rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic”… as they’ve conceded the larger issue, that a crisis exists. Trump can just insist that gaining control over admission has to come first.

5. From WSJ tonight:

NEWS ALERT
Federal Appeals Court Allows Trump Back-to-Mexico Asylum Policy to Remain in Effect

A federal appeals court ruled the Trump administration can, for now, continue with its policy of returning Central American migrants to Mexico while their requests for asylum in the U.S. are adjudicated.

The ruling, by the San Francisco-based Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, is a surprise victory for the administration.

Not clear what “for now” signifies, but it’s the Leftist 9th Circuit! Mirabile dictu!

That was my initial reaction; and Tommy Jay expanded on it. The Democrats will grudgingly give more money but only if Trump spends it the way they demand.

While cruising the link-chains that surfaced on another topic, I encountered this article by Sharyl Attkisson about how narratives are driving “reporting” — really, just opinion these days. That certainly seems to be the case with the NYT when they finally report the things that everyone knows are happening, once they decide how they can spin it to fit their narrative.

7. This story kind of connects the immigration post and the philosopher with the means & ends confusion.
As the philosoper said:
“The fact that we’ve done it or nature has done it is irrelevant to individuals and is largely irrelevant to society. ”
The people renting the child – and the pimps that provided him – clearly have the same lack of moral distinction between natural and contrived connections, and absolutely NO concern about the effects on the boy.

8. If The Wall remains a big issue in 2020, and I think it will be, the Dems will really be in trouble. Most voters understand we need a border, and gov’t control of the border.
Most low-wage workers are learning that high numbers of illegals mean lower wages, and lower numbers of illegals mean higher wages — so they are moving towards wanting fewer illegals.

With no recession in 2020 (still a 20%? chance), Trump wins again (90% guesstimate).

9. “…the Democrats as a whole are engaged in shooting themselves in their myriad feet.”

Democrat Presidential nominees as centipedes. I did NOT need that mental image.

This is an interesting development, though! The fight over the border wall was ridiculous, given how the loudest voices against it were for it just a few short years ago. And yet the Democrats have chosen to make their stand on that issue. All President Trump needed to do, really, was to stand firm and expect that the flood of illegal immigrants would get out of control… which it did.

It’s a good issue for Republicans, because using a wall to keep out party-crashers really is common sense. Americans know what a wall is, and what it does.
