Time—way past time—to take a good long look at John Brennan — 31 Comments

  1. Neo, your skepticism vis a vis Joe DiGenova’s claim is wholly warranted I think, and yet I want desperately to believe him. The reason?

    Simple.

    Justice: how does it work?

  2. I’ve been wondering about Brennan for a long time. How did this idiot rise to this level? You can’t blame the voters – since he was nominated/appointed and confirmed for a number of positions.

  3. I’ll believe it when I see it.

    You got that right.

I have no idea why IG Horowitz is held in such high regard, like he’s the above-it-all referee who’s going to ensure that Justice is finally done.

What I expect from this IG Report is the same as the last highly-anticipated IG Report: Howowitz will provide enough anti-Dem, anti-DeepState information to make it appear that he’s fair-minded and serious about digging out the truth to expose malefactors — but not enough to indict anyone for crimes and make it crystal-clear just how corrupt specific individuals actually were/are.

  4. A guy with Brennan’s questionable past even being considered, much less nominated and confirmed, for a security clearance position does not instill confidence in DC and its ideals, processes, and priorities.

Something systemic is wrong in that town. We’re seeing *some* of that play out in the news lately. There is surely much more.

  5. Trump must declassify whatever documents are relevant to Russiagate.
Lindsay Graham must hold hearings and call the appropriate witnesses.
Horowitz may provide supplementary relevant information. He will step lightly because he doesn’t want to tear down the DOJ. There’s also the strangely mysterious John Huber – who was supposed to be “looking into things”.

Shine enough light into the murkiness and Brennan, Clapper, and Comey’s fingerprints will be found. If the squeeze is put on their underlings, those little piglets will squeal on the head hogs.

  6. Parr for the course for Secretary ‘Al Quds’. Obama himself might be an articulate hollow nothing with savvy political instincts, but many of his appointees were dumb ideologues. Is Brennan dumber than Chuck Hagel? Tough call, but those guys were the type Obama seemed most comfortable with.

  7. “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

When writing about this criminal gang, that could be a whole category of posts.

  8. Seems that there are a bunch of cynics here today. And, I join them. That is what makes so many angry, the knowledge that nothing will happen to any of the Dems and “intelligence” community. Despair is putting it lightly.

  9. The failure of Congress and the rotten nature of the Obama/Holder DOJ somehow remain with no punitive measures thus far effected. Remember John (IRS head) Koskinen smiling sardonically but triumphantly as he testified BS to a House committee?

I pray, truly pray, that DiGenova is correct. Heads must roll if the USA is to have any chance of remaining a society of laws, not men.

  10. IIRC Koskinen was able to smile because Sen. John McCain also put the IRS dogs onto the Tea Party. Inconvenient for the country to have had such a “maverick” “serving” in the Senate for so long.

  11. Something else to consider — “Waiting for Huber: whatever happened to the investigation into FBI abuse of power?”:

Nearly 18 months after US Attorney John W. Huber was appointed to investigate whether the Obama-era FBI and Department of Justice abused their power when they obtained spy warrants on Trump campaign operatives and their handling of alleged pay-for-play Clinton Foundation schemes, there’s no sign of any activity. Members of Congress remain in the dark about what if any progress has been made, and likely witnesses say they haven’t been contacted.

The Utah prosecutor, appointed by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions hasn’t convened any grand juries, or issued any subpoenas or indictments. His office hasn’t even responded to Congressional demands for reports on its work.

  12. Someone(s) ran interference for Brennan and pushed him up the chain. He did not do it on talent and sagacity. He’s an agent for a bigger player(s).

  13. I hope and pray for indictments,
but expect them to be mostly fluff (55%) or nothin’.

    Still, hope springs eternal…

And now we hear “in 2 weeks”. That sounds like it’s almost ready and they know what they’re going to do, so they’re polishing the paper work. Or is that just my eternal hope imagining they’re ready to indict.

  14. Other people to take a look at.
Strzok & Page: the gift that keeps on giving.
Could we even have begun unraveling the tapestry of FBI/DOJ malfeasance without them?

    https://libertyunyielding.com/2019/04/26/strzok-page-texts-fbi-snooping-on-trump-team-via-vp-pences-former-chief-of-staff/

The gist of the story is that Peter Strzok and Lisa Page exchanged emails in November 2016 that suggested Strzok was in communication at the time with Joshua Pitcock, a long-time aide to (then) Vice President-elect Mike Pence who later became Pence’s chief of staff. Pitcock was a member of the Trump campaign staff in 2016, and then worked on the transition team.

The special feature of this connection is that Pitcock’s wife, referred to in the texts as “Katie,” was an FBI employee who until July 2016 had worked with Strzok on the Hillary Clinton emails investigation.

The concern of Grassley and Johnson is that Strzok seemed to be discussing an inappropriate connection with Pitcock, one that could have amounted to cultivating Pitcock as an inside source – effectively, a spy – against the Trump transition team.

I see no reason to suspect Pence of bad faith against Flynn, and we know too little about Joshua Pitcock to make any claims at this point. I advise against rushing to judgment on this. But it is disconcerting to see, at this late date, how we keep being surprised with new pieces of information. None of them seems to be better news. Stay tuned.

Based on reporting from Sara Carter

  15. https://saraacarter.com/john-brennan-trumps-sociopathic-ramblings-i-wasnt-part-of-a-coup/

“I don’t think it is surprising at all that we continue to hear there sociopathic ramblings from Mr. Trump claiming there was this effort to try to prevent him from being elected or to try to unseat him. I welcome any type of continued investigation in terms of what I testified in front of Congress,” he told MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson.

Brennan also disputed Sen. Rand Paul’s, R-Ky., claim that he “insisted that the unverified and fake Steele dossier be included in the Intelligence Report.”

  16. Can I form a valid opinion? I spent twenty years forming one so the answer should be at least be maybel

  17. CTH thinks the inquiry into Pitcock-Pence is a trap to derail the really important questions about the CIA & FBI investigations.

    https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2019/04/26/chaff-and-countermeasures-the-dc-outrage-traps/

“We are talking about Brennan, Comey, Clapper and Yates telling President Obama and NSA Susan Rice that President-elect Trump is under a counterintelligence investigation where the suspicion is that Donald J Trump is an agent of a foreign power.

Under that auspices (fraudulent though it may be) the incoming President is a counterintelligence investigation target. A potentially compromised Russian asset. Under this auspices all of the officials would be permitted to lie and mislead their target, so long as they did so “By The Book.”

That’s their justification for a lengthy series of lies and false statements.”

  18. Today’s liberal/leftists fail to grasp that the construction of our Constitution is designed to prevent it… all coming down to muzzle velocity.

  19. I have now listened to several of Don Caron’s parody songs.
Musically, the man is a genius, both in his choice of songs (this one is particulary ironic) and in writing new political lyrics for them.

Ideologically, he looks leftish (anti-Trump, pro-AOC (sad!)) – but that shouldn’t be a bar to enjoying his artistry.

In re the Russia-gate collusion-myth, I think he is in Taibbi’s camp: the liberal feeding frenzy on the Russian dossier detracted attention from the actual crimes that Mueller uncovered and passed on to other prosecutors.

Like Mueller, however, he pays no attention to the (wo)man behind the curtain.

So, Manju – this one’s for you!

  20. Though indictments would be the best outcome, remember that the investigative process itself can be very painful for the targets. Talk to Michael Flynn, Michael Caputo, Jerome Corsi, George Papadopoulos, Carter Page, and many other Trump supporters who have suffered bankruptcy, loss of jobs, lost the ability to earn an income, and regularly receive death threats. Carter Page is basically living a life of a hunted felon. He has to be very careful because his life seems to be in serious danger. So, the process is the punishment for most of those accused of wrong doing. Although I’m sure that the FBI/DOJ perps (too many to list them all) will certainly receive succor from the MSM, Hollywood, and the Swamp. At least having to spend big bucks on lawyers, having their reputations sullied, and death threats is something none of them can avoid.

I do think that the DNC/Hillary campaign/Perkins Coie/Fusion GPS actors are guilty, at the very least, of illegal campaign activities. Unfortunately, campaign illegalities are mostly punished by fines. But at least there is some punishment and acknowledgement of wrong doing.

AG Bill Barr said that spying on a campaign and elected President is a “big deal.” Let us hope that he can convince enough DOJ prosecutors of the same . Then we might see some indictments.
