Darci Lynne does opera — 13 Comments

  1. Wow. I haven’t watched any of those shows in years now, but once upon a time I followed American Idol for a few years. It’s a kick to see Simon Cowell stand up to applaud.

  2. I am frequently astonished at the capabilities individuals exhibit. It gives me hope for humanity. God must have a purpose in mind to have blessed us with such heavenly abilities.

  3. The puppet may be just a hook, though she is clearly a superb ventriloquist.

Sing, my angel of music! Sing!

  4. Now let’s just pray for her and her family that her time in the spotlight doesn’t turn her into some sort of monster or into human detritus gobbled up and spit out by the marketing machine.

She seems a sweet kid in a great family…hope it stays that way.

  5. Kate:

I know. It seems impossible to sing with one’s mouth closed, and yet she does it. Maybe when she sings as herself, though, she gets more nervous than singing through the puppets. Although she actually seems to have tremendous equanimity for someone her age, or any age.

  6. One gets the impression that women give their daughters names with non-standard spellings so the little girls can dot their i’s with smiley-faces or hearts. It’s impossible to take seriously a woman named ‘Darci’.

  7. We can’t have people self teaching themselves stuff like this: says the Deep State.

Also Simon acts like a bad boy cop of the UK. That’s pretty funny or pathetic depending.
