Michael Cohen testifies
I didn’t watch it, because (a) I’ve been very busy today (b) I’m not an auditory person and prefer reading to hours of listening, and (c) Michael Cohen is an untrustworthy witness.
As for (c), it doesn’t mean that everything Michael Cohen says is a lie. It merely means that the man will say whatever he thinks he needs to say in order to help himself and/or to hurt those at whom he’s angry or against whom he wants revenge.
You can find live blogging of the hearing at Legal Insurrection.
Those who hate Trump will try to elevate Cohen’s anti-Trump testimony to the level of revealed truth. Those who don’t, won’t. Cohen is about to go to prison for perjury, among other things. He has plenty of motivation to lie and plenty of willingness to do so, as well as plenty of practice at it.
Many are questioning the timing of this farcical event. Why would the Democrats schedule this hearing involving a corrupt and mendacious person on the same day as Trump’s meeting with Kim if not to embarrass the president?
j e,
I saw a thing (Instapundit?) that CNN is saying Trump is meeting with Kim to distract from the Cohen hearing. I don’t know if it’s true, but it sounds about right for CNN.
One more cut in the “death of a thousand cuts” with which the dems seek to destroy Trump.
As for Cohen, he must be convinced that his chances of being pardoned by Trump are slim to none.
One more shameful episode demonstrating that when men are given the two edged sword of liberty, many will use it to commit evil.
The CNN thing was at Powerline:

Trump probably also paid Modi to start a war with Pakistan to distract from Cohen.
Somewhere, there’s a decapitated horse.
Richard Aubrey; in gold colored sheets no less – thanks for the laugh!
Really, so much of this anti-Trump stuff is straight out of Hollywood screenplays.

This Cohen charade is a big nothing. Never over play a weakhand.
And right in that same room was Lanny Davis, a henchman of the Clintons, acting as Michael Cohen’s attorney (and doing it for free, apparently). At some point, wouldn’t it be so much easier to just bring in Fusion GPS, and Christopher Steele, and John Podesta, and even Hillary Clinton, and ask them about the Russian collusion hoax?
It would have been nice if someone in that room had pointed out to Michael Cohen that the real reason he was going to jail all originated in a lie told by Hillary Clinton.
