Representative Adam Schiff: about Bruce Ohr’s testimony
NOTE: This post is a companion piece to an earlier post of mine today describing how Bruce Ohr had informed the FBI and DOJ long ago about Christopher Steele’s bias and Fusion GPS’ conflicts of interest, and yet they concealed those facts from the FISA court when asking it to rely on the Steele dossier.]
One Democratic member of the House who was privy to Ohr’s testimony back then either “misremembered” or lied about its content (my money’s on the latter). Fancy that:
Schiff was emphatic that Bruce Ohr did not meet w/ FBI officials regarding Chris Steele and the dossier until *after* FBI obtained Carter Page FISA. Turns out Schiff was completely wrong, per Ohr's testimony. https://t.co/WYNJeyOquI pic.twitter.com/aDkhA4030W

Oh, and by the way—Adam Schiff is the new chair of the House Intelligence Committee, replacing Nunes. That statement Schiff had made, reproduced in the tweet above, was issued in criticism of his predecessor Nunes’ report.
Nunes himself is still a member of the House and is still a member of that same committee, but now it’s under Schiff’s leadership because of the change of majority party in the House from Republican to Democrat. I wonder whether most Americans even know that this sort of shift is the consequence of their voting for local House members in high enough numbers to change the balance of power in the House (same, of course, for the Senate). My guess is that an awful lot of voters—maybe even a majority—either haven’t a clue or have only the vaguest of notions about how it works.
But that’s where we are now: Adam Schiff is in charge. And Adam Schiff would like nothing better than for Trump to be impeached, and if he has to lie to do it, that’s certainly an activity with which he’s both practiced and comfortable.
He’s not alone, of course. The Democratic Party has seamlessly morphed into The Resistance, and their helpmates in the press (and some in the DOJ and FBI) have been busy supplying them with ammunition against Trump. The latest, of course, is the Buzzfeed report that alleges (anonymous sources, naturalment) that Trump told Cohen to lie to Congress about Russian holdings. I’ll write another post on that one; it deserves its own.
Mueller is already disputing the Buzzfeed article.

Yes, I know—I already drafted a post about it which I’m proofreading now.
So much news, so much fake news, hard to keep up.
The Ds just might get the shooting war for which they seem to be spoiling…but I reckon guys like Schiff might not like the outcome.
Nunes is still there and not afraid to use his position as minority senior member to push back against Schiff. I expect to see a lot of him on Fox and other cable networks in the coming months. Nunes is a fighter.

I just assume that anything “important” that you don’t bring to our attention is probably fake, but sometimes it’s important to acknowlege what the hysterics are currently hystericking about.
If you just post a headline and the text “ignore this story,” I’m good with that.
“Adam Schiff is the new chair of the
SenateHouse Intelligence Committee”FIFY. You’re welcome. Good, the strike tag works.
Oh, come now. They have nukes!
On the other hand, I wouldn’t want it to come to that, even if the outcome was the one I favored. That is the path of a great deal of pain. And to echo Tolkien, it leads to a place where if this is victory, our hands are too small to hold it.
Schiff is a despicable human being (at least I think he is human). I’m not sure how blood gets to his brain through that pencil neck.

Of course, thanks, will fix! I guess haste makes waste.
I don’t relish the thought of watching bug-eyed “Schitt” bloviate and pontificate for the next couple of years.
It’s curious that it isn’t more well known, that when the opposition party takes control of Congress, not only does it get to put it’s members in charge of each and every Congressional Committee and subcommittee, but this also entitles them to set the ratio of Democrats to Republicans on each Committee and subcommittee so that, if the winning party maintains party discipline, the opposition members will never be able to win a vote in these subcommittees or in the main Committee.
Being in charge of things means that, if you wish to, you can also play the game by making it difficult for opposition party members to get enough of the basic supplies they need to do their jobs and run their offices–things like copiers, copy paper and toner, fax machines, repair services, pens, paper, paper clips, staplers and staples, etc.
Snow — being in charge of things also means you can hire Pakistani spies who are never prosecuted for that offense, nor have the full extent of their sabotage revealed.
Lots of perks of office in Congress.
