What I saw today in Tuscany — 8 Comments

  1. Had s similar experience In San Gimi years ago re the parking.
My photo record and memory confirms the existence of SG being the town of tall towers. There were about 12 or 14 of them then.

  2. You go when you go. My wife and I visited there in October and it was much quieter. Beautiful place, I hope your (eventual) visit was great.

  3. Your Italian experiences are charming. When my wife and I were in Naples in the late ’60s, I looked at the trash on the streets, the totally undisciplined driving–including parking on the sidewalks– and laughed. I commented, “so this is what a mature society looks like”. Now, I look around us, and conclude that we are becoming a “mature society”. But, I don’t laugh.

  4. My wife and I visited San Gimignano in June of 2015. We were on a tour of Italy, so parking was not an issue for us. It was by far my favorite place. The views are spectacular! It was very peaceful having coffee in the square, watching everyone come and go. Loved it!

  5. On our family vacation (there were six of us) we hired a driver. It was nice not to worry about having to park as she dropped us off in the towns we visited and told us where to meet her. Though I feel guilty now thinking she may have spent the hours we were there circling around the town looking for parking.
