Are you watching the Strzok testimony?
I watched some of it, and plan to watch some more but certainly far from all of it.
One reason I won’t watch much is that I already know what left and right will be doing. But another big reason, probably the biggest, is that I wouldn’t trust one thing Strzok says. He is a liar and a cheat, and of course his political bias has been clear for all to see. He will also be doing major ass-covering in his testimony, trying to convince us that his obvious bias (actually, hatred and contempt) isn’t really bias and that even if it is bias that bias didn’t affect his decisions about the very people he is biased against.
It’s simply unbelievable on the face of it. I don’t care what party such a person would be from or which direction the bias would go in, such a person is inherently untrustworthy. And even if he did sincerely think his bias hadn’t affected his decisions, he would probably be the last person to know whether it did or didn’t. That’s the way bias often works.
Watching Strzok testify, I have to say that he comes across as arrogant, angry, and duplicitous. Hey, maybe that reflects my own bias, but I don’t think so; it is plain in the expression on his face, just watching the visuals without the audio. His memory about what he wrote and why he wrote it comes and goes conveniently. His explanations are absurd for certain things he wrote, such as the idea that you can “smell” Trump voters—oh, it was just some random word he chose to indicate they seemed different than other voters. Believable? Not at all.
But what could Strzok say to defend himself that would be convincing? Nothing.
The American people—the portion who are paying attention, anyway—are like a jury here, although of course it’s not actually a trial. Juries pay a lot of attention not just to the words of a witness’s testimony but to what’s called his or her “demeanor.” Strzok’s demeanor is completely unconvincing and off-putting. And his words, likewise—at least, the ones I’ve heard and read. His pose of objectivity and outraged moral rectitude comes across as absurd, since we’ve read his private emails reeking with political bias and addressed to his partner in adultery.
Here’s a little sample of Strzok’s demeanor. It also illustrates why I’ll miss former prosecutor Trey Gowdy when he leaves Congress:
[NOTE: I’ve bumped this post up a bit.]
Blogged this before coming here. A trifecta of great minds thinking alike this day.
I think it’s a great study of just one more Cluster B Deep State snake. I’m shocked he failed his lie detector test. His smugness. His hubris. His arrogant pride. It sure does add up to his actions. And the other display that has been just as important to witness is the fake righteousness and histrionics of his Dem protectors. Thank GOD that this soft coup d’ta has been exposed. We NEED to see them facing Justice.
I watched the first 30 or so minutes and turned it off when no gop member of the committee came forward to slap his face and challenge him to a duel on the Capital steps at dawn.
There’s a guy who is convinced someone somewhere has his back. So he can shoot the finger at the committee & suffer not one whit.
He might be right. I’m not convinced any of the criminal deep state dwellers will ever see justice on this side of eternity.
BUT…clips of his testimony make great Trump 2020 campaign ads. I’m ok with that…
parker: “I watched the first 30 or so minutes and turned it off when no gop member of the committee came forward to slap his face and challenge him to a duel on the Capital steps at dawn.”
If only.
Political theater at its worst. But I would rather watch it than the usual cable pap. Strzok will be proclaimed as a hero to the left. No doubt receiving many tweets of praise for “speaking truth to power.” Ugh!
I thought the performance of the committee Dems was the biggest horror-show. All reading from some meticulous script.
Then E. Cummings goes on a lengthy tirade about Republicans attempting to expose confidential informants in their closed door questioning. Well, it was closed door, but Mark Meadows, using parliamentary procedure, interrupts to state that he was Cummings unnamed person, and he never asked to reveal any informant’s identity. Cummings then continues to assert what Meadows just denied.
Maybe most amazing to me is that one of the Dems on the committee actually said this creep should be given a Purple Heart.
Got sick of it early on. Especially the unexplained Socialist Realism posters before the witness was sworn in.
Ok…it’s not even 9am on my time zone but my Lord I need a drink!
I just watched Louie Gohmert LIGHT UP Strozk about his affair, lying “while looking into your wife’s eyes” and the D-heads exploded in unison!
Thank you God for video replay! THAT is how this should be done ladies and gents! Burn the damn house down to flush out the rats.
I listened to some of his testimony while driving in the car and was astounded at his arrogant tone. I can only imagine what it was like to see his facial expressions at the same time. Ugh. The texts were all that were necessary to prove his bias.
Comrade Strzok is very proud of his service in the military and the FBI.
My question to him would be: Define moral turpitude and discuss what it means in terms of the honesty and ethics of a person who is guilty of it.
“While there is no one exact definition of acts that are considered under moral turpitude, they are typically described as any acts of vileness or depravity, or of sexual immorality, whether in a private or social context.”
In the UCMJ extra marital affairs are considered to exhibit moral turpitude. Consider the case of General Petraeus. Sacked for an extra marital affair.
“In a legal sense, moral turpitude affects a wide range of activities, some of which are unlawful, and some of which are not. In many areas, conduct of moral turpitude may be used to determine the honesty or trustworthiness of a candidate for office, an applicant for certain types of job, and witnesses at trial.”
Louis Gohmert was on the right track. Strzok’s affair with Lisa Page brings into question much about his honesty and character. Instead of being a proud leftist who works for the FBI, he should be humbled and ashamed of his sleazy behavior. He would be much more believable if he was the least bit contrite about his affair and his biased attitude toward targets of his investigation.
Didn’t watch a minute. Today was my 83rd birthday and I don’t intend to waste a minute of my remaining time with such theater of the absurd. Fortunately, daughter game me a kayak for my birthday/father’s day gift, and there are no talking heads out on the bay. After a six year hiatus (I wrongly thought I was too old to start over when we moved to California) I again commune with fish; they don’t care about political theater either.
Wife says I need to know what the other side says/thinks. Nope. I can predict what they say, and I don’t believe a word. I know they don’t think; they just react mindlessly, and often mendaciously.
She praises Gowdy. I think he is a fine talker. Unfortunately, like everyone else in Congress, he is toothless.
He and Rosenstein took the same “media obfuscation” course that taught them how to lie while smirking, spin away clear, objective evidence and stonewall a congressional committee.
I can’t wait to see these guys in the dock under charges, to see how well this approach works for them in a court of law.
I watched the first 30 or so minutes and turned it off when no gop member of the committee came forward to slap his face and challenge him to a duel on the Capital steps at dawn.
Where’s Andrew Jackson when we need him? The dude could have written a manual about dueling. It’s sad but not surprising that contemporary Democrats have all but disowned Jackson.
OldFlyer…HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Yes…all caps means I’m shouting…I live a bloody long way away & you won’t hear it otherwise over the sound of your screaming reel as you haul in the big ones. 😉
Please indulge a couple of thoughts from true wisdom
Proverbs 16:31 – Gray hair is a crown of glory; it is gained in a righteous life.
Isaiah 46:3-4 -I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.
Enjoy your many blessings!

See this.
Happy Birthday Oldflyer! Decisions, decisions. Should you spend your birthday listening to the smug and smirking Strzok, or floating peacefully in a kayak?
No contest!
Jim Kearny at 3:52 PM . . . coup d’etat
Oldflyer, Happy Birthday. 83 bests any of my grandparents but one, who lived to 92.
Otherwise how to begin…? Be prepared to kill anyone who blinks an eye or appeares nervous. Harsh, yes, it seems to me that is on the horizon.
Tomorrow is the annual family retreat to northern Minnesota. We will be 43 strong, including those under 8, and we will be strong together. Fishing will be a focus, but beyond that, being family. Family is the foundation of civilization.
I tried at first to give Strozk the benefit of the doubt. Sometimes that’s the guy’s face; bone structure and so forth.
Sometimes it’s the guy’s expression and it’s a good idea to wait to tell the difference.
But this has been Strozk’s expression for so long it’s now his face.
I could not watch more than about 2 minutes’ worth. His smug arrogance was simply unacceptable. But it is a repeat of what Hillary did with the Benghazi hearing, and that worked well for her. I wonder if Strzok will run for office?
1. Strzok face is pretty representative of liberal smirk.
2. Anyone who seeks to give more power to a govt run at its highest levels by bureaucrats like Lois Lerner of the IRS, Strzok, Comey, Page, Mueller and the rest of the corrupt FBI gang is either insane or evil.
3. Daniel Kahneman, Nobel Prize winner, knows bias. And he says what Strzok claims is actually impossible. Even when one is fully aware of his bias and working to avoid being influenced by it, bias still impacts perceptions and judgments.
When Americans aren’t killing traitors, no reason for me to watch any of that.
