The Ides
I just noticed that today is the Ides of March:
Shakespeare (in “Julius Caesar”—“Beware the Ides of March”) may be the reason why the line is famous today, but the Ides of March — a date on the Roman calendar that coincides with March 15 — has been significant long before Shakespeare’s early 1600s play…
…[T]he phrase actually means “middle of the month,” which falls on the 15th day of the month in March, May, July and October and the 13th day of the other months…
In the olden days, the Roman calendar was divided into three parts — the “Calends,” “Nones” and “Ides” — to identify special lunar events.
The “Calends” signified the “start of the new moon cycle” on the first day of the month, according to online calendar Time and Date. “Nones” came next, about a week into a new month, to mark the half moon. Lastly, “Ides” marked the full moon.
It really seems to have no significance anymore, except as a saying.
Latin Class:
In March, July, October, May
The IDES fall on the fifteenth day
The NONES the seventh; all else besides
Have two days less for Nones and Ides.
Interesting that Hawking died on Pi day. Seems fitting.
Isaac Asimov once commented that the Roman calendar set some kind of record for inconvenience.
People are losing the spirit of the Ides of March. It’s not about just stabbing. It’s about coming together to stab in groups.
For Leftists, October is the month for surprises and revolts.
Everyone is always posting “Beware the Ides of March”, but it seems to me that this hasn’t been a problem for 2062 years… 😉

That’s because so many people have been bewaring.
The Moon-Earth-Sun makes a three body problem.
Based upon Newton’s Calculus and experimentation, he could never create a general solution for his gravity based on 3 bodies. Two bodies were the limit.
People were told that math describes the universe.
The Three Body Problem remaining unsolved for the solar system, is a serious problem for standard cosmology. Gravity, the only force that has not yet been unified in physics.
This problem is analogous to the Fermi Paradox or more explicitly, the speed of light changing. It would cause certain fundamental questions to be raised once again in physics.
In parallel with the 72 anomalies of H20, water, the amount of things humans don’t know that they don’t know, is quite substantial. It is most likely increasing.
Things won’t get boring at this rate.

So true. But as more and more people lose the spirit it’s really hard to get a group together. So this year I had to stab the ceremonial bottle of Caesar salad dressing alone.
I can’t seem to post on this blog right now. It’s very very disturbing.
In the meantime I’m putting this message on all my newer posts to alert people that for now I’ll be posting at the new site. So follow this link for further updates.
I sincerely hope this problem will be fixed soon, but I have no idea whether it will be possible. At any rate, the new blog is still operating very well (for now), and I can always post there. So for now, consider that the place to go to read my work.
Will do, neo.
