Humans and dogs have such a strong bond. I have never lived without dogs in my life from toddler to now old man. Sadly, at our age, we are not likely to adopt new dogs once our 13 and 7 year old dogs have gone to doggie heaven. We would not want to adopt dogs that might out live us, same goes for our 14 year old cats. We have decided we will, if able, become foster parents.
Dogs are not humans, but as close as any animal can be.
Mark Twain had an insightful description of the difference between dogs and humans:
“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and man.”

Putting the post in a new tab by itself gets the correct video.
So sweet! Love being welcomed home by my dog.
Once again I contemplate the unanswerable question, “What did humans ever do to deserve dogs?”
That’s pretty much the way our Lab greets my wife when she comes in from the next room.
