New federal judge nominees — 8 Comments

  1. Exactly. I didn’t hold my nose while completing my mail-in ballot** but, his pledge to appoint Justices and Judges who respected the Constitution sure made the vote more palatable. (I started to write choice instead of vote but, there was really no choice once the primaries concluded.)

I repeat myself, but, I find no fault with any of his official decisions so far. On the other hand, some think his tweeting and so forth are brilliantly planned; I don’t.

**I registered in California when I transferred my driver’s license from Virginia. My wife registered when she smiled at the man sitting in front of a grocery store handing out petitions and filling out voter registrations–no ID required.

  2. I’m not familiar with the list of nominations, but have to go by other’s judgement on how conservative they are.

If so, that is very much a relief that trump is following thru on that, and if they do get accepted by Congress, trump does deserve thanks for it.

    Disagree. There were other choices.

But since too many people thought exactly the same way (exactly what the two major parties wanted everyone to think), it became self-fulfilling.

  3. So you, Big Maq. I will say more clearly; there were no other viable choices.

  4. The judicial appointments have been a pleasant surprise, as far as I understand them.

  5. Back in 2000 I wrote a rather lengthy e-mail to a friend explaining why I wanted to vote for George W. Bush. I ended up sharing the essay with my Dad who liked it so much he shared it with friends who also gave very positive feedback.

Anyhow, I don’t recall much of what I wrote (I’m sure I could dig it up if I tried), but I do recall stating that the biggest reason I was supporting Bush was because of the Supreme Court. This was also true when I voted for Trump. There were lots of things I didn’t like about him, but he promised (and I believed) that he would nominate good constitutional conservatives to the bench. I am also very happy that he seems to be fulfilling this promise in every way.

That’s nice, won’t save the USA from what happened to other cities like Soddom and Gomorrah for divine transgressions though.
