Just ten days out…
…and Obama can’t refrain from praising the protests against his successor.
No surprise there. He does it through a “spokesman,” of course, rather than directly. Here’s the text of the statement:
“President Obama is heartened by the level of engagement taking place in communities around the country. In his final official speech as President, he spoke about the important role of citizen and how all Americans have a responsibility to be the guardians of our democracy–not just during an election but every day,” Kevin Lewis, Obama’s spokesman, said.
“Citizens exercising their Constitutional right to assemble, organize and have their voices heard by their elected officials is exactly what we expect to see when American values are at stake.”…
“With regard to comparisons to President Obama’s foreign policy decisions, as we’ve heard before, the President fundamentally disagrees with the notion of discriminating against individuals because of their faith or religion,” Lewis added.
Of course, no one discriminated against anyone because of that person’s faith or religion, but this is pure MSM-type obfuscation of the actual issue.
Obama himself has said:
“As an American citizen who cares deeply about our country, if there are issues that have less to do with the specifics of some legislative proposal or battle, but go to core questions about our values and our ideals, and if I think that it’s necessary or helpful for me to defend those ideals, then I’ll examine it when it comes,” Obama said.
And of course, it’s so often “necessary or helpful” for Obama to mouth off, even though previous presidents have respected their successors and/or the office of the presidency itself enough to have desisted. Not Obama.
They lost. These protests are meaningless.
In Omaha, 1,800 showed up at a protest last night. Eighteen thousand paid money to see Creighton play basketball on Saturday. Hillary didn’t even get 35% in Nebraska.
Apparently they imagine that by protesting they will convince me that being a slave to their neediness, fantasist politics, and socially offloaded neuroses is better than an outbreak of violence.
It’s not.
So there was a Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 two years before Trump? There was a kind of “Muslim ban” before the Muslim ban? But almost no one critiqued it in 2015 because it was Obama’s administration overseeing it.
So for more than a year it has been US policy to discriminate against, target and even begin to ban people from the seven countries that Trump is accused of banning immigrants and visitors from. CNN even hinted at this by noting “those countries were named in a 2016 law concerning immigration visas as ‘countries of concern.’” But why didn’t CNN note that the seven countries were not named and that in fact they are only on the list because of Obama’s policy?
https://sethfrantzman.com/2017/01/28/obamas-administration-made-the-muslim-ban-possible-and-the-media-wont-tell-you/
Artfldgr:
No, it wasn’t a ban. It didn’t go nearly as far as Trump’s EO. It was a limit on automatic granting of visas, not a ban. I don’t have time to look it up again right now for the details, but that was pretty much it, as I recall.
The point, however, is that the seven suspect countries were ones designated by Obama, not Trump.
I think the celebrity meltdowns, the angry hissy fits threatening violence, and the pussy hat vagina head protesters make Trump seem sagacious and calm in comparison.
Oops, wrong thread.
At least it’s ok to say anything positive.
Express any form of optimism a couple of days ago and people would give you the gimlet eye– then challenge your credentials as a good female by demanding to know if you marched.
The media doesn’t have the majority public opinion on most of this, but they do have a very large megaphone to convince us that they do. The protests are noisy distractions designed to reinforce that idea.
We know that the Left is tenacious in agitating. Even Obama can’t help but throw his two cents in. It will be interesting to see how long they can keep up the outrage. Eventually (and it has already started) people will simply stop listening to them.
The divinity schools at Duke and Vanderbilt Universities have rekindled debate, previously addressed at Notre Dame and Harvard, by issuing gender neutral guidance to their professors.
Referring to God as “Father”, it would seem, serves to reinforce patriarchy.
The current year’s course catalog for Vanderbilt University advises professors that they should pay “consistent attention to the use of inclusive language, especially in relation to the Divine because the school commits continuously and explicitly to include gender as an analyzed category and to mitigate sexism.”
“Obama can’t refrain from praising the protests against his successor.”
Once a traitor, always a traitor.
I am surprised … that he waited a whole 10 days before pontificating.
What a small, small man.
Wasn’t there some kind of refugee halt following 911?
I don’t know this for certain, because it was told to me by a relative who worked with refugees at that time. I recall she said that most of the caseworkers at her agency were laid off because there just weren’t any refugees following 911.
Despite the impact on themselves, they all thought the halt was good idea because there were too many holes in that system. At least at that time, refugees had been fast tracked. Also, the agency was adjacent to ground zero, so they were shook up too, as you might image.
But, that’s second hand info.
Some headlines are saying “Obama ‘breaks’ his silence . . . ”
Breaks his silence? Holy cow! The guy has never shut up so when has he ever been silent? And if a Republican had done this the news would have been why isn’t the former President giving the new guy a chance?
I am SOOO sick of Obama – really, really sick of him.
charles:
That’s pretty funny.
He broke his 9-day silence! What forbearance and self-control the man has shown! Awesome!
During the first week after President Trump’s inauguration the Houston Chronicle did not run a single story about the Obamas – nothing about their new digs, nor their settling in, not even if their helicopter had landed safely. Amidst the flurry of all the President Trump activity, I wondered if Mr. Obama was going to be the most quickly forgotten President of recent memory?
It would seem that Mr. Obama was getting concerned about this, too.
The messiah forever, aka bho, will never shut up and the msm will never cut off his megaphone. Community orginzares got to spout off to arouse the ‘community” aka the lemmings. Been there got the message. Same old same old.
CAIR is the chief organizer of these “protests.” They’re punching people out, knocking them out cold; the leftwing extremists are getting more and more violent.
Obama promulgated essentially the same order in 2011, IIRC; media? crickets, of course.
Meanwhile, President Trump continues to think three corners ahead:
[seen at Zerohedge]
Remember when professor Gates had his run in with the Cambridge police? Obama said he didn’t know what was going on but the police acted stupidly. That tells you all you need to know about Obama.
I am so sick of Obama telling us who we are as Americans and droning on about the arc of history, which somehow he is always aligned with and anyone who disagrees with him is not.
Obama sure doesn’t speak for me, nor I suspect for the “arc of history,” whatever reality that has.
Obama is true to his nature.
However, in the long run this is bound to backfire. He won’t allow our memories to fade and his legacy be recast in a greater light if he keeps inserting himself into current politics.
Like huxley, I am sick of Obama’s boilerplate “this is not who we are” speech that touts all the reasons Muslims are better citizens/patriots than the rest of us. It didn’t work when he was president, and it will lose its effectiveness in comparison to Trump’s message and continued terror attacks in the West.
no place else as this kind of thing is only discussed in reaction not in anticipation.
but you get it here first… (from me)
http://www.filedropper.com/337535680-full-david-brock-confidential-memo-on-fighting-trump
titbits
so basically this is REVOLUTION…
they will voluntariliy with malice of forethought ignore law
like gorbchev, we are communsits and will never leave that path, even if its illegal, we are not liked, we are outvoted, we know better than 300 million peopl what 300 millino people want, and we know cause we went to school or have lots of money…
then they start to use stalinist terms
you can almost imagine the ending of that saying “because that is what WE do and thats our corner he is working”
we will impeach him wheher he does wrong or not
then like the peonix we will rise from the ashes cause we are so great
we will throw the press under the bus (wonder if the press knows?)
see? i know the future as i get all these things going back for decades. if you know where to go, you can read past stuff htats not so secret as this new stuff
but what your hearing is what they will do to him, planned out, in less than 100 days, how to ruin a man in political office, throw things that let us down under the bus, use dark money except in key states, and on and on..
and all of it against the US government.
and here you see how fabians, progressives and communists operate (and feminsits too)
you see how they are going to get their people to create a cry for action, and then the leaders will act upon it. kabuki theater. this is why feminism represents women, and not women who side with x or side with Y. it gives them the power, money to exist, and the ability to pick X or Y at whim, point to their group and say they are doing it for them.
this is the process i been telling you is laid out and you can read going back 70 years and more… this has been going on for decades before most of us if not all of us were born.
forgot to mention the memo above is from david broc who created media matters after he changed sides..
[neo finally finds someone who changed the opposite way, david broc]
Artfldgr:
Actually, Brock is of a certain subgroup that’s not exactly a changer, he’s what Churchill might call a re-ratter. That is, a double changer. First a liberal, then a stint as a conservative (although I read a memoir of his and his conservatism seems to have been rather unformed and amorphous), then back to liberalism.
Humans thought they had gotten rid of Hussein?
No wonder humans are fools.

I was skeptical, but that is what his Wikipedia_David Brock says.
So should we believe the articles he wrote on Anita Hill?
