Just ten days out… — 26 Comments

  1. They lost. These protests are meaningless.

In Omaha, 1,800 showed up at a protest last night. Eighteen thousand paid money to see Creighton play basketball on Saturday. Hillary didn’t even get 35% in Nebraska.

  2. Apparently they imagine that by protesting they will convince me that being a slave to their neediness, fantasist politics, and socially offloaded neuroses is better than an outbreak of violence.

    It’s not.

  3. So there was a Terrorist Travel Prevention Act of 2015 two years before Trump? There was a kind of “Muslim ban” before the Muslim ban? But almost no one critiqued it in 2015 because it was Obama’s administration overseeing it.

So for more than a year it has been US policy to discriminate against, target and even begin to ban people from the seven countries that Trump is accused of banning immigrants and visitors from. CNN even hinted at this by noting “those countries were named in a 2016 law concerning immigration visas as ‘countries of concern.’” But why didn’t CNN note that the seven countries were not named and that in fact they are only on the list because of Obama’s policy?

    https://sethfrantzman.com/2017/01/28/obamas-administration-made-the-muslim-ban-possible-and-the-media-wont-tell-you/

  4. Artfldgr:

No, it wasn’t a ban. It didn’t go nearly as far as Trump’s EO. It was a limit on automatic granting of visas, not a ban. I don’t have time to look it up again right now for the details, but that was pretty much it, as I recall.

The point, however, is that the seven suspect countries were ones designated by Obama, not Trump.

  5. I think the celebrity meltdowns, the angry hissy fits threatening violence, and the pussy hat vagina head protesters make Trump seem sagacious and calm in comparison.

  6. At least it’s ok to say anything positive.

Express any form of optimism a couple of days ago and people would give you the gimlet eye– then challenge your credentials as a good female by demanding to know if you marched.

  7. The media doesn’t have the majority public opinion on most of this, but they do have a very large megaphone to convince us that they do. The protests are noisy distractions designed to reinforce that idea.

We know that the Left is tenacious in agitating. Even Obama can’t help but throw his two cents in. It will be interesting to see how long they can keep up the outrage. Eventually (and it has already started) people will simply stop listening to them.

  8. The divinity schools at Duke and Vanderbilt Universities have rekindled debate, previously addressed at Notre Dame and Harvard, by issuing gender neutral guidance to their professors.

Referring to God as “Father”, it would seem, serves to reinforce patriarchy.

The current year’s course catalog for Vanderbilt University advises professors that they should pay “consistent attention to the use of inclusive language, especially in relation to the Divine because the school commits continuously and explicitly to include gender as an analyzed category and to mitigate sexism.”

  9. “Obama can’t refrain from praising the protests against his successor.”

Once a traitor, always a traitor.

  10. I am surprised … that he waited a whole 10 days before pontificating.

    What a small, small man.

  11. Wasn’t there some kind of refugee halt following 911?

I don’t know this for certain, because it was told to me by a relative who worked with refugees at that time. I recall she said that most of the caseworkers at her agency were laid off because there just weren’t any refugees following 911.

Despite the impact on themselves, they all thought the halt was good idea because there were too many holes in that system. At least at that time, refugees had been fast tracked. Also, the agency was adjacent to ground zero, so they were shook up too, as you might image.

    But, that’s second hand info.

  12. Some headlines are saying “Obama ‘breaks’ his silence . . . ”

Breaks his silence? Holy cow! The guy has never shut up so when has he ever been silent? And if a Republican had done this the news would have been why isn’t the former President giving the new guy a chance?

I am SOOO sick of Obama – really, really sick of him.

  13. charles:

    That’s pretty funny.

He broke his 9-day silence! What forbearance and self-control the man has shown! Awesome!

  14. During the first week after President Trump’s inauguration the Houston Chronicle did not run a single story about the Obamas – nothing about their new digs, nor their settling in, not even if their helicopter had landed safely. Amidst the flurry of all the President Trump activity, I wondered if Mr. Obama was going to be the most quickly forgotten President of recent memory?

It would seem that Mr. Obama was getting concerned about this, too.

  15. The messiah forever, aka bho, will never shut up and the msm will never cut off his megaphone. Community orginzares got to spout off to arouse the ‘community” aka the lemmings. Been there got the message. Same old same old.

  16. CAIR is the chief organizer of these “protests.” They’re punching people out, knocking them out cold; the leftwing extremists are getting more and more violent.

Obama promulgated essentially the same order in 2011, IIRC; media? crickets, of course.

  17. Meanwhile, President Trump continues to think three corners ahead:

A document from the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) indicates that Donald Trump took steps last week to outmaneuver nonprofit organizations, leaving them unable to officially campaign against him over the next few years of his Presidency.

Filed on January 20th, 2017, the letter states that, while not an official announcement for reelection, Donald Trump has filed an FEC Form 2 in order to “ensure compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act.” This is an unprecedented, although legal, move for the President to make. Barack Obama did not file for his 2012 re-election bid until April 2011. Having filed (even if not formally announcing a bid) as a candidate, Trump would be able to coordinate with PACs and other similar organizations.

More importantly, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations would no longer be able to engage in “political speech” which could theoretically affect the results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election without running the risk of losing their nonprofit status. The move effectively bars interest groups from creating nonprofits which they could funnel money into for the purposes of opposing Trump’s initiatives. This will likely create chaos for political opponents of Trump such as George Soros, who has sunk significant amounts of money into various nonprofit groups with the intent of opposing Trump’s government. How 501(c)(3) organizations will comply with the FEC’s regulations when participating an actions which qualify as political speech remains to be seen.

The move is consistent with Trump’s campaign promises to reduce the financial influence of private special interest groups on Washington.

  18. Remember when professor Gates had his run in with the Cambridge police? Obama said he didn’t know what was going on but the police acted stupidly. That tells you all you need to know about Obama.

  19. I am so sick of Obama telling us who we are as Americans and droning on about the arc of history, which somehow he is always aligned with and anyone who disagrees with him is not.

Obama sure doesn’t speak for me, nor I suspect for the “arc of history,” whatever reality that has.

  20. Obama is true to his nature.

However, in the long run this is bound to backfire. He won’t allow our memories to fade and his legacy be recast in a greater light if he keeps inserting himself into current politics.

Like huxley, I am sick of Obama’s boilerplate “this is not who we are” speech that touts all the reasons Muslims are better citizens/patriots than the rest of us. It didn’t work when he was president, and it will lose its effectiveness in comparison to Trump’s message and continued terror attacks in the West.

  21. no place else as this kind of thing is only discussed in reaction not in anticipation.

but you get it here first… (from me)
    http://www.filedropper.com/337535680-full-david-brock-confidential-memo-on-fighting-trump

    titbits

    We have a mandate

together we wont the popular vote and democrats picked up seats in the senate and the house.

trump is the least popular incoming president in modern history and the outgoing president and pupular vote winner are again the most admired man and woman in the nation

the country did not vote for Trump-style change

Trump has the legal aurhotiey, but we have the moral athority, and the moral responsiblity to oppose him

    so basically this is REVOLUTION…
they will voluntariliy with malice of forethought ignore law

we are going to fight for things which we believe, and we are going to fight agianst any attempt to erode the cornerstone work and values of the progressive movement and this pluralistic nation

like gorbchev, we are communsits and will never leave that path, even if its illegal, we are not liked, we are outvoted, we know better than 300 million peopl what 300 millino people want, and we know cause we went to school or have lots of money…

then they start to use stalinist terms

we are going to resist the normalization of Donald Trump. His every conflict of interest, his every bit of cronyism, his every move towards authoritarianism, his every subversion of our democratic systems and pricnipals, his every radical departture from foreign and domestic policy norms.

you can almost imagine the ending of that saying “because that is what WE do and thats our corner he is working”

in the next four years, media matters will continue its core mission of dasarming right wing misinformaiton, while leading the fight against the next generation of conservative disinformation: the proliveration of fake news and propaganda now threatening the countries information ecosystem

American Bridge will cement itself as the standard bearer of opposition research, but on its role as a progressive clearinghouse of information that drives the narrative on republican officholders and candidates… and will be at the epicenter of democrts work to regain power starting in 2017 and building to 2020…

here is what success looks like
trump will be defeated either through impeachment or at the ballot box in 2020

the balance of power will shift back to democrats. we will measurablly imnpact us senate, gbernatorial and state legislative races

we will free ourselves from solely relying on the press, our rubust digital program will reach voters directly online

we will impeach him wheher he does wrong or not
then like the peonix we will rise from the ashes cause we are so great
we will throw the press under the bus (wonder if the press knows?)

Crew will be the leading non partisan ethics watchdog group in a period of crisis with a president and administration that present possible conflicts of interest and ethical problems on unprecidented scale [snip]

here is what success will look like

Trump will be afflicted by a steady flkow of damaging information, new revelations, and an inability to avoid conflict issues.

the trump administration will be forced to defend illegal conduct in court

powerful industries and interest groups will see their influence wane

dark money will be a political liability in key states

see? i know the future as i get all these things going back for decades. if you know where to go, you can read past stuff htats not so secret as this new stuff

but what your hearing is what they will do to him, planned out, in less than 100 days, how to ruin a man in political office, throw things that let us down under the bus, use dark money except in key states, and on and on..

and all of it against the US government.

    Shareblue [snip]

this is what success looks like:
Shareblue will become the de facto news outlet for oppositoin leaders and grass roots

trump allies will be forced to stop down or change course do to news pushed by shareblue

under pressure from shareblue , democrats will take more agressive positions agianst trump

shareblue will achieve financial susttainability wile diversifying content offerings and platofrms

tope editorial and writing talent will leave competitors to join shareblue

and here you see how fabians, progressives and communists operate (and feminsits too)

you see how they are going to get their people to create a cry for action, and then the leaders will act upon it. kabuki theater. this is why feminism represents women, and not women who side with x or side with Y. it gives them the power, money to exist, and the ability to pick X or Y at whim, point to their group and say they are doing it for them.

this is the process i been telling you is laid out and you can read going back 70 years and more… this has been going on for decades before most of us if not all of us were born.

  22. forgot to mention the memo above is from david broc who created media matters after he changed sides..

[neo finally finds someone who changed the opposite way, david broc]

  23. Artfldgr:

Actually, Brock is of a certain subgroup that’s not exactly a changer, he’s what Churchill might call a re-ratter. That is, a double changer. First a liberal, then a stint as a conservative (although I read a memoir of his and his conservatism seems to have been rather unformed and amorphous), then back to liberalism.

  24. Neo
Actually, Brock is of a certain subgroup that’s not exactly a changer, he’s what Churchill might call a re-ratter. That is, a double changer.

I was skeptical, but that is what his Wikipedia_David Brock says.

Brock grew up in Wood-Ridge, New Jersey, where he went to Our Lady of the Assumption School, and later attended Paramus Catholic High School in Paramus, New Jersey. During his sophomore year of high school, Brock’s family moved to the Dallas, Texas area where Brock attended Newman Smith High School. Brock became editor of his high school newspaper, which he says he “fashioned into a crusading liberal weekly in the middle of the Reaganite Sunbelt.”[10]

So should we believe the articles he wrote on Anita Hill?
