Politico wasted pixels on Trump being an inch shorter (*) than his D/L says? This is now what passes for POLITICAL NEWS???
I can’t think of ANYTHING that more-clearly announces “We are profoundly irrelevant!!!” than this article.

(*) … I’m in my mid-sixties and *I* am an inch or so shorter than I once was. Heaven only knows if I updated my height last time I went to DMV for a renewal of my license.
I’m am inch shorter than I was in high school. I like to think that it’s because I’m much smarter now and the weight of all that knowledge in my brain is compressing my spine.
Any sighted person can see that Donald Trump is overweight, regardless of whether he is 6’0″ or 6’6″.
Either way, once again the taller candidate won the election.

I don’t read Politico so I don’t know how they are reacting to Trump threatening a nuclear arm’s race. Maybe that doesn’t rise to the level of their attention.
Trump is making some interesting noises on the international scene; and I am sure that the hard nosed players will be watching carefully to see if he stands behind his rhetoric. I have no problem with him playing hard ball with the international bullies, so long as he doesn’t show himself to be a paper tiger–like someone we have cringed over for 8 years.
Oregon son, pregnant daughter in law, and grandsons 2 & 4 arrive soon so I am off to the airport (yes we have airports in flyover country). More will arrive tomorrow, so we will enjoy having kids running the house for three days. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to evryone.

Same here in my seventies.
Well, about two inches as I progress into my 80’s. Fair trade.

He’s engaging in “tit for tat.”
Putin had just announced that HE was going to splurge on new ICBMs. He intends to up grade his SS-18 Satan ICBM. It’s the most destabilizing ICBM ever created, if you’ll recall.
And, of course, the Red Chinese have a huge atomic program. By now they have more atomic warheads than Russia or the USA. This reality is the reason why Putin is ramping up his atomic assets.
Similarly, Pakistan is building out its atomic arsenal at quite a clip. That’s how Islamabad spent its profits gleaned by shaking down the US DoD since 9-11-2001.
Barry Soetoro’s fantasy that Beijing would walk away from atomic weapons is just that.
Like I said Blert, I have no problem with what he is saying. Just that he better back it up; because the tuff guys have reason to think we are a weak willed nation after the last 8 years.
