The RNC is all-in for Trump — 22 Comments
Holding the President of the most powerful superpower on Earth, to account is nigh impossible.
Holding an individual voter to account… very easy in comparison.
So is Cruz the new Emmanuel Goldstein?
The RNC is now following Trump’s playbook, which is to reflexively lie and deny everything. “Who do you believe? Trump or your lying ears?”
The RNC is part of that DC bureaucracy that voted 93% for Hussein in 2008.
Try to keep expectations of morality or virtues to a minimum, for those sorts of unpaid/paid interns.
These guys live in power central. If they have no other skills it’s how to flatter and cajole. Trump susceptibility to flattery is unparalleled and his desire to be accepted into the elite is unsatisfied. The RNC will do this in spades. Trump would be an embarrassment but they figure he can be easily diverted with some shiny new toy. they could not count on handling a strong personality like Cruz as easily. If they could not get Bush or Rubio their next choice was Trump.
Seems Trump already moved to the DC circuit. He must love that social life.
The author of that article attributes too much strategic thinking into trump’s behavior.
Very much doubt the trump campaign’s trashing of Kasich and Cruz and not focusing on clinton are strategic choices. They seem more consistent with the personal attacks that are the norm from trump.
The irony is that the “establishment” is behaving much the way that has been complained about by many GOP supporters – more interested in retaining power than in standing for something and representing that in DC. One by one, they fell in line for trump.
Don’t think Cruz proved anything. The outcome and reaction to Cruz shows what we always knew… that the core of trump’s support are a burn it all down crowd – including eschewing any appeals to “widening the tent”.
This is another aspect that is worrisome if trump were to win. Things can escalate in a hurry with this kind of behavior.
Note: meant that second article Neo linked.

Tent’s already got too many traitors Democrats and Muslims in. Hard to widen it any further.
neo…
My ‘take’ is that Trump is pivoting toward Bernie’s voters.
He HAS to establish that he’s the ANTI-Republican GOP nominee.
Or, more sweetly, that he’s the anti-Conservative GOP nominee… really a Liberal Democrat.
I have to say, he IS gaining traction.
Whether it’s enough to over come the wholesale rebellion of stalwart GOP voters — is very much up in the air.
Barry Soetoro took the Black vote for granted.
He was wise to do so.
I suspect that Trump is taking the anti-Hillary Conservative vote for granted.
This may prove also wise. It’s certainly working on ME.
Geller, too. ( Love that gal. )
Trump split the GOP to pieces.
Now, his best bet is to split the Progressives — nee Democrats — in half.
As posted up thread, Ted Cruz IS Emmanuel Goldstein.
Kasich is disrespected because of political philosophy; disdained for his banality… the disposable tool.
Remember Hoffer’s dicta: one con only truly hate someone that you admire.
Trump actually admires Cruz beyond all other rivals.
And so, we have this spectacle.
I’m moving Donald Trump up to 5:2 underdog.
( It’s ISIS and the coughing fits.)
Trump actually admires Cruz beyond all other rivals.
No doubt.
Once he detects groveling (Christie), he is likely to get you confused with his paid staff.
Goldstein… I thought that role was supposed to be Hillary RodDamn Clinton.
The Ultimate Evil right.
So the third party candidate DJT has captured the RNC, and he is courting Bernie Sanders voters. DJTs positions are liberal Democrat, just not as extreme as HRC. That’s why DJT doesn’t care about conservatives. DJT figures they will take any democrat except HRC. Pence will have no influence on DJT, and DJT doesn’t care if the Republicans loose in Congress.
OM,
IF Trump prevails — then the GOP will sweep the Senate and the House.
Surely Donald can’t imagine any other outcome.
So, he DOES care.
He’s just coming from a totally different world view.
Naturally.
Goldstein… I thought that role was supposed to be Hillary RodDamn Clinton.
The Ultimate Evil right.

No, we know why we dislike Hillary. We have rational reasons for doing so, and that’s not going to change any time soon. She’s on the other side, politically speaking, and always has been. We don’t need to be encouraged to oppose her.
Cruz is another matter. There are many who would take Cruz’s side of things (and many who already have) if the situation were calmly and objectively discussed. That, obviously, cannot be permitted. So the only thing that shall be permitted is unreasoning, emotional anger at the betrayer, Lyin’ Ted Cruz.
You are now to begin your two minutes of hate.
>>The time for focusing on beating Hillary has passed. <<
This from the second article, and I'm sure it's wrong.
The time to beat Hillary is October-November.
Remember "October Surprise"? Something big, new, and negative against the Rep candidate will come out.
Trump is virtually immune — everybody knows he's flip flopper, no real principles, etc. But good media.
Very Telegenic! Plus pretty optimistic, if so often insulting.
It seems to be the current fact that there are NOT enough "conservatives" to win, but there may well be enough anti-Democrats to win.
That's sad, but also not as sad as Obama or Clinton winning.
What's most sad to me is that America might well have chosen Hillary over Ted Cruz 1 v 1; and might well choose Trump over Hillary.
Actually, I think when Trump starts getting personal against Hillary, there's going to be an awful lot of mud thrown, and the "moral superiority" of the (not really) 'liberal' supporters of Crooked Clinton will be taking a beating.
I certainly hope so, and getting popcorn ready.
Instapundit’s got a link to Trump bringing up the “Cruz’s Dad helped kill JFK” thing *again* at a post-convention press conference.
I’m not familiar with the site (and I’m not going to watch the video at work), so it’s possible that the source might not be entirely trustworthy. But if the video shows what the site claims it does…
/facepalm
Demoncrats like Trump was for a few decades, have always liked to blame Republicans or any Republican voter or faction, for JFK’s assassinaion. It’s also why they prop up Hussein Obola, Chavez, Hugo, and every other Marxist of similar name Che from Cuba.

You can say it but Trump has said he doesn’t care if the Republicans loose the congress, that he wouldn’t mind being a free agent. Who to believe, you and your projections of how the election will turn out or Trump’s words and actions?
I know Trump often lies, was he lying about that too?
I don’t know about your track record in prediction, and the vote isn’t for Blert in November.
“You are now to begin your two minutes of hate.” – junior
Given the continuing comments from some, wonder if they really are “reluctant” trump.
Cruz is Goldstein?
A reasonable argument could be made that he should have endorsed trump as part of the “bargain” for being on stage.
My guess is that the trump campaign and RNC were desperate to have Cruz on stage, even without a clear endorsement (which seemed to have been known ahead of time), if only to show some modicum of “unity”.
But, to demonize Cruz? That is hook, line, and sinker into trumpistan.
Just as Hussein turned America into Obamaca. Trum can turn America into Trumpca.
