The left not only uses the San Bernardino attacks to shill for gun control, but to criticize prayer — 39 Comments

  1. It’s the new dodge. Rs only offer prayer (and good atheists know that does no good), but Demos spring into action.

    Translated:

Rs offer prayers, Demos offer to revoke your Constitutional rights.

  2. Remarkable.

As one observer said many years ago, it’s those on the left who are endlessly holding vigils and marking anniversaries, who are chanting “Never Forget,” without daring to ask (much less act upon) the tough questions, how we realistically and proactively address the conditions or situations that led to whatever devastating blow we’ve suffered.

Their primary response is contemptuous anger because that is what fills them and fuels them in the first place. And their blissful utopian dreams aren’t really about a world in which everyone eventually comes together to sing “Kumbaya.” What they really yearn for is to be the only ones left. Or to at least have so much unbridled power that they can easily squelch those who would interrupt their songfest.

  3. Born in the US in 1987? When did his parents arrive in the US?

Hmmm…. Very possibly his parents were granted citizenship by the 1986 blanket amnesty for all Pakistanis, Iranians, Poles and Mexicans in the US for more than 4 years.

  4. It’s funny that liberals get angry at Christians for appealing to a higher power. Every solution they ever propose involves more government intervention.

Of course, as rightly noted it’s the liberals who love meaningless symbols. It’s Conservative Christians that run homeless shelters and liberals who talk about the plight of the poor than sit back and drink their latte and think they’ve done something.

  5. After 60+ years of feminisms programming the population to PC, affecting education, changing business, and slaming the constitution… what else could you expect… they are the army of the left… any idea how many womens organizations want gun control, and more and more state and so on? the only mens groups that want the same are the billionaire boys clubs…

heck, they were so afraid of this feminist army, neihbors were afraid of being called racist and such to say things were suspicious..

Why Gun Control is a Feminist Issue
    http://mic.com/articles/51715/why-gun-control-is-a-feminist-issue

Overall, 74% of gun owners are male and 82% are white. In 2006, a Gallup poll reported that more men than women felt safer with a gun in the home, with 56% of men and only 39% of women reporting to feel more safe with a gun in the home. This disparity begs the question: who exactly do they feel safe or unsafe from?

Therefore, strict protection of the Second Amendment actually increases the likelihood that domestic violence victims become murder victims as well.

“It is clear that gun violence, or the threat of gun violence, is a huge factor in the continued effort to combat domestic violence throughout our cities and towns,” and that “the only way to truly overcome this threat is to make sure that abusers have zero access to firearms, period. This issue must be a major part of any official conversation on gun control.”

to avoid being cut down, i stop here and post next. but then again, if i post more than a few, i get those deleted too..

so its impossible to make any kind of case against the movement that is behind tons of this stuff as they are the vanguard and army of the left.

  8. The Democrats may be stepping in it on gun control this time. A majority of people favor gun rights. After a mass slaughter in California by a Muslim nut job in a gun free zone, the demand for guns should go up. As the NRA says, the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. That is hard to refute.

Most career Democrat politicians have dropped gun control as a loser issue.

  9. This is going to sound ugly, but I’m not going to apologize for saying it. I am now thinking of the the Muslim Jihadists as the armed wing of the American progressive left.

You can’t even call this a good cop/ bad cop routine. It’s the bad cop/ugly cop routine. The kill-Americans-first jihadists do their thing. Then the hate-America-first leftists come along and demand we change.

It’s a match made in hell. As we are seeing in Europe, the Muslim invaders have no plans to assimilate into Europe. Instead, they are demanding Europe change to accommodate them. They are the natural allies of the leftists who demand we fundamentally transform.

  10. Of course they realize (except the extremely stupid ones) that their demands for ever more laws and regulations will not stop mass (or other) murder. But they fail to realize, or at least admit, their anti-2nd agenda fuels gun sales. bho and the entire posse of the left have promoted more gun sales than all the millions spent by the private sector advertizing firearms. bho in his royal majesty has prompted millions to join the NRA and a host of other organizations devoted to protect firearm ownership. Stupid is as stupid does.

  11. neo writes, “Do Democrats really believe that some new gun law would have stopped Farook and his spouse from committing mass murder? I don’t think so.” Nor do I.

It is very clear that new gun control measures are a substitute, for consumption by “moderate” types, for the ultimate goal, which is confiscation. But the “moderates” may look askance at a step that’s anything but incremental, and the radicals don’t want to wake up any more people than they absolutely have to wake up, so new gun measures it will be. And then, when the ink is barely dry on the new gun measures, newer gun measures, and then still newer gun measures.

Meanwhile, we-the-conscious know full well what they’re up to — but they control the microphones (at least enough of them).

  12. It has been reported that the rifles used by the bad guys were bought for them by somebody. If true that means the guns were obtained by a straw purchaser and thus illegal by federal law. So much for gun laws stopping criminals.

  13. Steve57:

That winning combo—jihadists and leftists—was what originally created the glorious Iran we know today. The jihadists killed most of the leftists as soon as the jihadists came to power and the leftists had outlived their usefulness.

  14. Mrs Whatsit,
I’ve used up my articles from the LA Times, so I couldn’t read your link. I suspect it is similar to other things I have read about the tribal strong man families that are common among Muslims. The boys are taught to obey their fathers and after they are circumcized they are men and are able to start bossing around their mothers and sisters. And then you have the wonderful family situation of OBL. I also remeber about Yemenis who lived in a mountainous area whose wive had to cart water from the valley every day. Some NGO figured out that they could use simple nets stretched on posts that would condense the fog and provide them with adequate water. A few years later the NGO went back to find that the nets and supporting posts were no longer working. The men didn’t value their wives enough to repair the nets or keep the posts standing.
Boys raised like this have a very hard time dealing with the West and womens’ freedom.

  15. Artfldgr,

A large percentage of first time firearm owners over the last five years have been females. (You can google it.) I am one of the instructors at the local range who teaches firearm safety and self-defense shooting skills. I won’t bore you with the details of the training, but we have produced dozens of women who can quickly put multiple shoots into the center mass. Six 38 Specials in the chest within 1.5 seconds provides a lady with an excellent ‘shot’ at survival.

  16. I believe if the AR15 type rifles had magazine capacities in excess of 10 (very likely given reports) they are illegal in California.

  17. They have to talk about the guns to distract attention from the fact that a major terrorist attack has occurred on American soil, quite possibly the work of those JV guys that Obama had contained. A very large memory hole indeed is now needed. The media are hard at work digging it.

  18. These people LIVED with their mom. The baby was dropped of with the “grandma” before they went on their rampage.

At this point protective services should pick up the baby and place the baby into an anonymous home. The Grandma needs to be jailed as an accomplice and fed what every other American eats.

    Done.

  19. Put me down as one agreeing with Parker. My daughter and I both took the classes for concealed carry this year … and we purchased sidearms. The Daughter Unit wants a shotgun for her Christmas/Birthday present.
The spur for us both was the shooting rampage in Chattanooga, at the military recruiting offices. By seriously conservative estimates, I am probably late to the party, but … that particular shooting rampage was the last straw for us.

  20. The left is always screaming, after something horrible happens, “Do SOMETHING!!! Someone must DO something! DO SOMETHING!” and they will pass some useless law that makes them feel better, but accomplishes, at BEST, nothing, Usually, what they do makes either the “thing” they are trying to “fix” worse, or it makes something else worse.

But they do feel better for having “done something.”

  21. “We’re at the point where these issues have come together really like never before in law enforcement thought and in our nation’s history and it gives us a wonderful opportunity and a wonderful moment to really make significant change,” said Loretta Lynch.

    TWANLOC ….

  22. Neo, as Oldflyer indicated in a comment to yesterday’s post, there are two “R’s” in San Bernardino.

  23. To anyone who says or believes prayers “don’t do anything”, make this test. Pray for bad things to happen to yourself. What could possibly go wrong?

  24. Sgt. Mom,

It has been my experience that between males and females new to the world of rapidly accelerating lead, females acquire the necessary skills more quickly than males. Men typically come in thinking they will need little instruction, while female newbies are far less confident and pay closer attention to the advice of the instructor.

Out of curiosity, what caliber of sidearms did you select? And, I hope Santa drops off the 12 guage of your daughter’s desire.

  25. Two automatics. 9mm, Parker. The local shop where we bought them is veteran-run, which was another reason to go there. They let my daughter and I handle a good assortment of them, to find ones which felt comfortable to the hand.
I had briefly trained on a Beretta, when I was active-duty — and hated it, because it just didn’t fit. I have tiny hands and short fingers and the Beretta just felt all wrong. Awkward. I wound up with a Glock clone, because it felt right.

  26. I guess that treating religion as a punch line will help the Dems among youthful anti-religious undecideds. But it’ll alienate older religious undecideds. Does Hillary believe she’ll have so much strength among the young that she can write off all older voters except the most militant? Or was this an oversight: did they forget that there are people who pray seriously?

The best is if you take it to its reasonable next step, which is the religious tests that atheists are afraid will come from the believers. Tell me, how can you complain about religious people interfering with elections when you’re saying that Christians get to distracted by prayer to do anything for the citizenry?

  27. Sgt. Mom,

You chose what best fits your hands, and the 9MM is more than adequate for self-defense. Long may you and daughter run.

    Artfldgr,

That’s pretty good. Even at 15 feet: since if you are talking .38 special, then you are talking most likely revolver, and then you are, I would imagine, talking a double action squeeze.

A pie plate at 30 yards 5 times out of 6 is one thing single action and w/a 4″ bbl, but you are talking pretty rapid fire there … especially for presumably weak hands and wrists.

Funny story. Friend has a cheap short barrel .38 which he took to the range as we sighted our deer rifles. Decided to shoot 100 yards from a rest at rifle targets; just to see what would happen. Using the spotting scope and Hi power binoculars you could see the rounds heading toward the target. Looked like bees flying or semi-wild pitches, sinkers, curve balls.

As I probably mentioned before, never saw anything like it except for the time I was shooting .303 rnds which I had Brasso polished to a mirror finish, at a target about 350-400 some yards away in sub-freezing early morning weather. The round was leaving a kind of vapor track and glinting while on its way through the frost misted air and bright early light. Quite a phenomenon . Buddy who was spotting was jumping up and down saying “I can see it go! I can see it go!”

  29. DNW,

With a handgun, train at 20, 15, 10, and 5 feet. But most of all train at arm’s length, push a way from the attacker (target), draw, fire with the strong hand, squeeze rapidly. In most cases, self-defense with a handgun is a contact sport.

Twice in my mostly calm life, I have on 2 occasions pointed a firearm at another human being with the intent to kill, from a distance of about 30 feet and about 10 feet. In each case the would be assailant stopped, quickly turned tail, and ran for their life without the need to fire a shot.

I do not wish to kill anyone, but I think I have the stones to kill everyone that threatens me and mine.
