Yes, the holidays are coming, and that means…Amazon! — 7 Comments

  1. I promise to send a direct donation in December. (I don’t use amazon.)

PS: Your well researched blog is much appreciated by all persons of high quality, and even me. 😉

  2. Just unblocked and used the portal, neo. Not a big-budget buy, but one I think you’ll approve of – Bloom’s “Closing of the American Mind.”

  3. Dammit… I just ordered two expensive Samsonite suitcases from Amazon. Is there anything that you can do to highlight your Amazon link. Us old folks need some help with our memories from time to time

  4. Neo. Consider this. Can you get the Amazon link to slowly “surge” when we come to the site? When I click on my local newspaper, an ad pop up for for 3 to 5 seconds on the main page. Perhaps you could do the same with your website…just a thought.

  5. FWIW, here’s what I did maybe a year ago:

I accessed Amazon using the portal link provided by Neo, then logged into my Amazon account, then bookmarked that page and named it “Neo’s Amazon”. I usually use Mozilla Firefox and it’s right up there on my bookmarks ribbon along with my other bookmark folders for ‘Blogs’, ‘Banking’, ‘Weather’, etc.

Whenever I open Amazon I just hit that bookmark (because it’s right there and easy to see) and it takes me directly to my homepage on Amazon.

I can’t be sure that she’s still getting her “vig” from my purchases made this way, but I think she is; we ran a test last year on one purchase and it worked then.

  6. I use the same method as Carl, since it’s easy to forget using search engine + amazon. Neo’s blog isn’t mentally categorized by me as a search engine or a shopping site.
