Dartmouth, University of Kansas: campus anti-hate-speech movement turns ever more hateful — 25 Comments

  1. These leftist radical ‘activists’ will only be cowed by resistance that is equally forceful.

Since the administrators and ‘professors’ are also radical leftists that have indoctrinated these idiots into the Left’s memes and narrative, there will be no reform.

These young leftists will be the first to die when the civil war the Left is fomenting occurs.

  2. Geoffrey Britain:

Thanks for the heads up. I’ll fix it.

By the way, Sowell was a Cornell professor around the time of the uprisings.

  3. These young leftists will be the first to die when the civil war the Left is fomenting occurs.

For Christmas, there’s a List and we’re checking it twice.

  4. Geoffrey Britain

These leftist radical ‘activists’ will only be cowed by resistance that is equally forceful.

And there lies the rub; this is asymmetrical warfare right now. Any forceful resistance of the protesters will be crushed quickly. The thing to note is that the college administrators aren’t just radical leftists, but they are also in full support of the protesters and will provide whatever cover and protection they can. As long as this remains on campus, and nobody gets killed, the protesters are untouchable and can pretty much do whatever they please.

  5. I actually find this rather funny b/c the left has brought it upon themselves. Unless they are willing to push back, this will just go on and on.

I would dissolve the protests by calling the cops on them. Some of these are private colleges, thus private property. They could get these kids arrested for any number of infractions: terroristic threats, noise complaints, trespassing, etc.

Then, I would tell the protesters that if they didn’t get back in class, do assignments as asked, take exams etc. that they would be booted from school. Their enrollment done. Bye-bye.

So many ways to combat this. Eventually, the professors will not like it when they are targets of the hatred pouring from the mouths of these losers.

Good luck, lefties. You made the bed, now lie in it.

  6. They think they want a revolution, they feel they are special, they believe they are the avant garde, and they will end up bitter dead enders or perhaps talking msm heads.

  7. Yes, folks, it’s The Great Leap Backward! Put on your gray Mao Suits and carry and wave your Little Red Book of Self-Criticism everywhere you go!

  8. As you point out often, Neo, there’s nothing intrinsically novel about this crop of Left activists. They could have been the same Left activists I competed against when I played the game.

The activist game is the only social cultural/political game there is, and the only force that counter (student) activism is (student) activism.

This crop is beatable by any peers (students in this case) who will muster a team that is committed sincerely to playing the activist game win. After all, if I could beat them at their own the people’s game, anyone can.

The only reason this crop of activists is running roughshod is the absence of meaningful activist opposition. As hungry competitors, they’ll simply keep seizing ground until a sufficient counter activist movement is mustered from their peers and stops them via head-on competition.

  9. “Then, I would tell the protesters that if they didn’t get back in class, do assignments as asked, take exams etc. that they would be booted from school. Their enrollment done. Bye-bye.”

Nice idea but the administrators are also counting the losses in tuition revenue that such would cause.

  10. This is akin to what happened in germany that included acts at colleges like book burning…

As part of an effort to align German arts and culture with Nazi ideas (Gleichschaltung), university students in college towns across Germany burned thousands of books they considered to be “un-German,” heralding an era of state censorship and cultural control. Students threw books pillaged mostly from public and university libraries onto bonfires with great ceremony, band-playing, and so-called “fire oaths.” The students sought to purify German literature of “foreign,” especially Jewish, and other immoral influences.

German university students were among the vanguard of the early Nazi movement, and in the late 1920s, many filled the ranks of various Nazi formations.

    and today

Black Lives Matter activists at Princeton University have taken over the president’s office and say they won’t leave until the school acknowledges former U.S. president Woodrow Wilson as a racist and renames all buildings currently honoring him on campus.

The election is intended to select delegates to a convention, which will draw up “governance documents” for a Native Hawaiian government. Registration to vote was restricted to “Native Hawaiians,” who are defined as only those whose ancestors lived on the Hawaiian Islands prior to 1778–and even then only to those willing to confirm a statement affirming “the unrelinquished sovereignty of the Native Hawaiian people.” [akin to the nazi laws for racial purity]

Racism and whiteness are diseases that need to be addressed, she continues, writing, “We cannot even begin to address symptoms, such as the racial achievement gap, if we do not address the underlying diseases of racism and Whiteness.” Matias is an assistant Professor at the University of Colorado at Denver. Her article, Why do you make me hate myself?: Re-Teaching Whiteness, Abuse, and Love in Urban Teacher Education, was published in Teaching Education this year.

and to make sure that the target does not grow up able and competent…

A kindergarten teacher in Bainbridge Island, Washington, has banned boys from playing with Legos as part of the fight for gender equality.

The Bainbridge Island Review reports Captain Johnston Blakely Elementary School kindergarten teacher Karen Keller intentionally excludes boys from playing with Lego building blocks. Allegedly, this is in [an] attempt to help girls.
Keller told the Bainbridge Island Review, “I always tell the boys, ‘You’re going to have a turn’ – and I’m like, ‘Yeah, when hell freezes over’ in my head.

  11. On common psychological thread in all this that parallels the nazis, the jihadis and even communists and now the liberal movement is that its victims are told that they are special and superior by virtue of their beliefs

So having the right beliefs is critical to maintaining that special state and superiority that the narcissistic esteem movement addicts crave post childhood.

the wrong books the wrong color, the wrong witty phrase that gets them to doubt these beliefs threaten their specialness and superiority and must be defended against. since they want a better world, then the world has to also have these beliefs and they are mental or deficient or crazy if they want to hold inferior beliefs and be inferior persons. though some classes, like white men, are inferior persons regardless of belief

its really that simple, the kids that want to go to college do not want to go to be inferior or lesser… so isnt it easier to be great if all it requires is the right set of ideas and beliefs?

they are getting close to being deadly or cleaning out education of the frankensteins whose monsters are now gunning for them. this also seems to include impore believers, like liberal christians, who are being ejected for their christian ideas.

  12. “Conformity will be the only virtue and any man who refuses to conform will have to pay the penalty.” Woodrow Wilson

In Germany there wasn’t any alternative left. Liberalism was failing. If I’d been German and not a Jew, I could see I might have become a Nazi, a German nationalist. I could see how they’d become passionate about saving the nation. It was a time when you didn’t believe there was a future unless the world was fundamentally transformed.” – A question of faith – Eric Hobsbawn

the “West’s first real experience with totalitarianism – political absolutism extended into every possible area of culture and society, education, religion, industry, the arts, local community and family included, with a kind of terror always waiting in the wings – came with the American war state under Wilson.” historian Robert Nisbet

“This striving toward connectedness with the totality of life, with nature itself, a nature into which we are born, this is the deepest meaning and the true essence of National Socialist thought.” – Ernst Lehmann

“There is more that binds us to Bolshevism than separates us from it.”

“Of what importance is all that, if I range men firmly within a discipline they cannot escape? Let them own land or factories as much as they please. The decisive factor is that the State, through the Party, is supreme over them regardless of whether they are owners or workers. All that is unessential; our socialism goes far deeper. It establishes a relationship of the individual to the State, the national community. Why need we trouble to socialize banks and factories? We socialize human beings.” – quotes above are from Hermann Rauschning in Hitler Speaks

    -=-=-=-=-=

A declaration of war against the order of things which exist, against the state of things which exist, in a word, against the structure of the world which presently exists”.

What later came to be known as Fascism was in fact essentially the same as what was known in the USA of the late 19th and early 20th century as “Progressivism”, so Fascism is in fact as much an American invention as a European one. The Europeans carried out fully the ideas that American Leftists invented but could only partially implement.

the very worst of it-disfranchisement, segregation, race baiting, lynching-“went hand-in-hand with the most advanced forms of southern progressivism.” Racism was the norm, not the exception, among the very crusaders romanticized by today’s activist left. — David W. Southern

Feminism too was part of “Progressive” thinking. if Hitler’s eugenics and racial theories were loathsome, it should be acknowledged that his vigorous supporters in the matter at that time were Leftists and feminists, rather than conservatives.

“We are socialists, we are enemies of today’s capitalistic economic system for the exploitation of the economically weak, with its unfair salaries, with its unseemly evaluation of a human being according to wealth and property instead of responsibility and performance, and we are all determined to destroy this system under all conditions.” (Speech of May 1, 1927. Quoted by Toland, 1976, p. 306)

  13. So, is it too late for the various Ivy League schools to modify their rules regarding “dismissal for cause”?

Because, although “physicsguy” above is correct that these places are focused on revenue, it’s ALSO true that they receive many-many-times the number of applications as they have openings each year. I can’t believe that they don’t have some sort of “runner up” system in place, so that kids who wash-out early can quickly be replaced.

So all it would take is changing their by-laws to announce that students found to be disruptive/ destructive/ or who violate the civil rights of professors or of other students, WILL be summarily dismissed, AND any tuition they prepaid will be kept by the institution to cover damages and/or the investigation of the complaints against the offending student.

[Yes. I know. —> The only thing our universities REALLY lack is the STRENGTH OF WILL to demand law and order, and respect for others, from their “special demographic” students. Our nation’s schools are willingly committing suicide to keep their PC credentials polished.]
[Guess that’s why our “leadership” {spit!} on both sides of the political aisle think the REST of the country should be equally willing to commit suicide in the name of “inclusiveness” and “diversity”. Problem is, a lot of us regular folks haven’t been brainwashed by a 4-year-term at upper-echelon schools.]

  14. Affirmative action — the deliberate over promotion of Blacks — generates rage and hatred — among those so favored.

For they are horrifyingly exposed to their deficiencies.

This leads — almost inevitably — to True Believer dynamics.

For it is by the rejection of the self that True Belief is nutured.

It’s hard to NOT have ones self-esteem implode when one is launched from Affirmation High School, (the school mantra is “You’re so fine”) — bam — straight into reality.

Ultimately you’re left with rage based True Believers — acting out their frustrations and race hatred.

Being Black means that the latter is okay.

The only kind of racism that can be bad is that of Whites.

Which is evident to all Progressives.

  15. It’s actually a good thing the occupation is burning down the universities with their mobs.

That means it is easier for the insurgency to recruit disaffected students.

Why save the universities? Why have classes resume? So they can pump out more zombies?

  16. The same tired replay of events over and over for fifty years. Strange how new traditions are formed and patterns set when, at first, we don’t realize a new moral order has been founded.

I suppose that means a new Ayers & Dorhn, more bombings under that worst of dictators, an elected Republican.

After fifty years of slo-mo Cultural Revolution, any attempt to re-found the university as a university will require more than expelling a few students and firing a few professors. It will require lustration, imprisonment, and executions.

That will be hard. Let’s do nothing. Nothing has worked for last fifty years, so let’s keep doing it.

  17. Destruction of the American University system?

Just a bit more of that good old Fundamential Transformation (Inc.)

    What will be transformed next?

  18. I was thinking the other day, every person I know personally who voted for this President, did so because he is black. That is racism. Over these last 7 years we have devolved on matters of race, to the point of persecution of the police and now back to the university. When I read Bloom’s book in 2008, I began to understand how we got to a point where a man can be elected, because he is black. In the economy of sowing and reaping, we are most definitely reaping the harvest of racism that has been sown.

  19. Let’s do nothing. Nothing has worked for last fifty years, so let’s keep doing it.

The people with their heads in the sand thinking the tsunami would pass them by, did nothing. Those preparing for civil war and 4th gen conflicts, were doing something else.

  20. Doing nothing would be taking in no refugees as taking in refugees is doing something.
Doing nothing would be going to school and doing your homework as protests is doing something.

We have to stand up FOR doing nothing. Protect and preserve. Working hard, maintaining the family, studying hard, striving to succeed.

These radicals are UNFAZED by Paris, and the campus leaders were caught saying, “its the conservatives who are mean” to the black lives matter protestors

  21. How’bout Flunking & Expelling all these punks and clearly
Stating: NO More Fed Funds until cojones & resoluteness are shown??

Oooops…Forgot it’s the Time of Obama.
    Are we not Blessed??
