The Paris attacks won’t make Obama blink: full steam ahead
Take a look at the news roundup website Memeorandum today. The headlines and blurbs tell a story.
At the very top we have “Islamic State threatens attack on Washington, other countries”:
Islamic State warned in a new video on Monday that countries taking part in air strikes against Syria would suffer the same fate as France, and threatened to attack in Washington.
Directly below that we have “Obama adviser: refugee plan proceeding despite Paris attacks:
President Obama still plans to allow 10,000 Syrian refugees into the country over the next year, despite terrorist attacks in Paris, at top aide said Sunday. ”” “We’re still planning on taking in Syrian refugees,”…
Next we have “GOP governors reject Syrian refugees”:
At least nine Republican governors are moving to block Syrian refugees from entering their states after Friday’s terrorist attacks in Paris that killed at least 130 people and wounded hundreds more.
After that, “Cruz: ”˜No meaningful risk’ of Christians committing terrorism”:
Sen. Ted Cruz Sunday continued to call for Muslim refugees from Syria to be barred from entering the United States but opening the borders to displaced Christians, arguing there is not a “meaningful risk” that Christians will commit terrorist acts.
Then, “Obama rejects calls for change in anti-ISIL strategy”:
President Barack Obama on Monday pushed back against calls for a dramatic rethink in the operation against the Islamic State, ruling out U.S. ground troops despite the “terrible and sickening setback” of last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris.
Then another article on the governors’ refusal, then three in a row on Obama “scolding” or “slamming” Republicans for calling for a “religious test” of Syrian refugees, calling it “a betrayal of our values.”
I guess it isn’t Christian of us. We’re not allowed to pay attention and adjust accordingly. In this, Obama is clearly in line with Merkel and those Western European elites who continue to defy the needs of their countries and their people.
Isn’t it funny; I always thought that among our values were the simple ones of protecting our own country and people, as well as applying common sense to a problem. Obama seems fully on board with the European/leftist “solution,” which is to refuse to do either in the name of (at the very best) PC tolerance.
But make no mistake about it—ISIS has no such investment or interest in tolerance; you might say it has no tolerance for tolerance. And that just might be the understatement of the century.
The fool/knave question has been answered. Up until now there was at least some question.
What’s next worse after “knave”?
Richard Aubrey:
“Traitor” comes to mind.
The “fool or knave” question was actually answered early in Obama’s first term. Unfortunately, the American people didn’t get the memo.
Well but there is no reason to impeach a traitor, so traitor is right out, despite that it is precisely accurate.
I am so sick of Obama calling them ISIL while every person not employed by the government calls them ISIS.
ISIL stands for the Islamic State in the Levant. ISIS stands for the Islamic Satate in Syria. That’s my understanding.
So be using ISIL as the term, Obama is giving them more credit than just being confined to a single country (Syria).
One would think that after all this time the Sun King would get on the stick and call them ISIS, but that would mean he was wrong and he can never concede that point.
so excited for Massachusetts

This is why the left refers to religion or moral philosophy as the opiate of the masses. Without religion, there is only the natural order, and actions that denigrate individual dignity (e.g. class diversity) and debase human life (e.g. elective abortion, planned cannibalism), can be considered civilized, even “good”, without suffering a guilty conscience.
Cornhead:
He also doesn’t want to emphasize the “Syria” part of things, because it spotlights the failure of his “red line” in Syria and his approach to the whole crisis there.
A few thousand people affected would be considered refugees. However, as Obama has seen fit to leave millions more behind and a wasteland, his interests are clearly not about the humanitarian crisis he fostered, and now exacerbates, but anti-native foreign and domestic policies , presumably to exploit for leverage against his competing interests.
Here’s what executive experience looks like for Germany.

What will she do with that experience?
Not listen. Not care. Dictate.
Isn’t that the heart of liberalism? Not caring, not listening and dictating? That’s what Obama’s speech was. He said he won’t entertain a debate, he dictated, he didn’t care. That’s what Pelosi did during her tenure.
That’s what Trump supporters are doing. Not caring, not listening and they just like his ability to “dictate”. Dictate what?
ISIS, ISIL, and now it seems the French are using Da’esh.
Just adds to the confusion about who the enemy is among those who don’t pay a lot of attention.
“What I’m not interested in doing is posing or pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning or whatever other slogans they come up with that has no relationship to what is actually going to work to protect the American people and to protect the people in the region who are getting killed and to protect our allies and people like France,” Obama said.
Apart from the butchered grammar and syntax, which is bad enough all by itself, thank you very much, how — how — HOW did we come to the point where we have a President who thinks that “American leadership” is nothing more than a slogan to be dismissed, and that the idea of “America winning” is inconsistent with finding a way to protect ourselves and the people of Europe?
“What I’m not interested in doing is posing or pursuing some notion of American leadership or America winning or whatever other slogans they come up with that has no relationship to what is actually going to work to protect the American people and to protect the people in the region who are getting killed and to protect our allies and people like France,” Obama said.
No one ever mentions how there are more military deaths under Obama as CIC than George Bush. This President is a disgrace, but even worse is the media that is responsible for his ever being elected.
How did we come to this point?
Consider what Michael Ledeen asks.

I’ll spell it out for you: optics and acoustics.
Axelrod does not want the President caught saying: “I…sis.”
Think about the pranking possble… the video out takes.
Axelrod does not want the President caught saying: “Is…is.”
Think about it, Clinton OWNS ‘is…is’ ! Heh.
Yet more pranking is possible.
That’s why within 24 hours of its first use, ISIS was dropped by the White House — and enforced upon the Pentagon.
It’s all media centric. Axelrod does not want Barry on any more gag clips than is already the case.

Ann, Daesh is an Arabic insult — very much in the same vein as the term “Nazi.”
( Nazi started out as hip talk// army slang during WWI as a reference aimed at Austrian soldiers.
( And Adolf was an Austrian — with the accent to match.
( It was derived from Ignatius — just drop off the Ig …
( More towards ignorant natius — as in ‘Gomer’ in US military slang.
Da’esh has the same snark — in Arabic.
More towards double S… as in SS.
Being a Semitic language the “i” drops out.
So the French authorities are aiming the slur at their massive Muslim population.
Needless to say, all of the Arabic nations have adopted Da’esh — right off the bat.
In sum, Hollande has labelled ISIS as the “SS.”
Which is a slam in both Arabic and French.
Cute, no ?
Ann…
In myth and culture, the Arabs associate S with desert snakes — and … you can take it from there.
S patterns on the desert dunes = trouble dead a head.
ISIL is actually in Iraq and places outside Syria, they aren’t merely the Islamic State in Syria. A caliphate doesn’t obey old territorial models.
While I am certainly not an Islamic scholar, what I have studied leads me to the conclusion that parts of sharia law are in conflict with the US Constitution. When an immigrant becomes a naturalized citizen, they take an oath that includes swearing allegiance to the United States Constitution. The implication is that they must renounce that portion of sharia law that conflicts with it. I wonder what all those clamoring for Muslim immigration now will think years in the future when a majority Muslim population amends the constitution to incorporate sharia law. I pray that my grandchildren will never see that day.
Re Obama, what do a people who long to be free from a dictator, a tyrant and traitor?
You depose Him – ie, “to remove from office suddenly and forcefully” in my dictionary.
Which I’ve called for at this blog before, after Paris.
Isn’t Nazi just short for Nazional as in nazional socialistische? And perhaps intended to slur the nazional part and let the socialistische part just slide by?
