Who’s the hater here?
Yesterday I wrote a post discussing certain liberals who say Pam Geller spouts hatred but who defend her right to do so. Some of them don’t even feel the need to give quotes or details in order to illustrate this supposed hate of Geller’s.
One, however—Jonathan Zimmerman—offered these examples of Geller’s hatemongering statements:
A few years ago, I invited Pamela Geller to visit the class that I teach about “culture wars” in the United States. Geller had recently spearheaded a campaign to block the construction of a mosque near the site of the World Trade Center attacks. I wanted my students to understand why.
Moments into her remarks, the answer became clear: Pamela Geller is an anti-Islamic bigot who couldn’t care less about the facts. Geller said the so-called “Ground Zero Mosque” was just the tip of a gigantic plot to “Islamicize” America. She warned that states and localities might adopt Sharia law, which would legalize polygamy and child marriage. And all of that would happen with the blessing of the “pro-Muslim” President Obama, whom Geller said could be a closet Muslim himself.
Geller herself came into the comments section of Zimmerman’s article to write this note about what Zimmerman had claimed she said that day:
Here is the video of the entire talk I gave to “Professor” Zimmerman’s class. It shows what a bald-faced liar he is. I never said the things he ascribes to me. Shame on Zimmerman and Politico.
She posts a link to the video after that, but I’ll give you the video itself. It’s long; a little over an hour, with the last 47 minutes or so devoted to a question and answer period she had with the students. Geller’s speech lasted about the first twelve minutes. Since Zimmerman had said that “moments into her remarks” Geller had revealed herself to be “an anti-Islamic bigot who couldn’t care less about the facts,” I figured I wouldn’t have to listen long to hear the type of hateful and fact-falsifying comments to which he referred.
I waited. And waited some more. I listened to the first 30 minutes of the video, and nowhere in that portion did I hear Geller say anything that I thought could reasonably be interpreted as Zimmerman portrays it. Perhaps she gets around to it somewhere in the last half of the question and answer period; I stopped listening when I got to minute thirty because all I had heard until then from her were very reasonable remarks, and I didn’t have unlimited free time at my disposal. Zimmerman had written that her bigotry, disregard of facts, and those other statements had occurred “moments into her remarks,” and I had given it much more than what are ordinarily regarded as “moments.” I heard nothing of the sort.
What did the video actually reveal? A libertarian position, including statements such as the fact that we need to offer support to moderate Muslims, because after all, “Who has suffered more at the hands of jihad than Muslims?”
She also says, “You can’t criticize Islam without being called a racist;” that certainly seems to be true, although “bigot” is the more popular descriptor these days. At minute 20:28 she makes it quite clear once again that she’s not accusing all Muslims. And around minute 22:20, as she is about to mention to the class an FBI statistic involving the number of hate crimes against Muslims, she adds as caveat, “Everybody check everything I say; I insist.” Doesn’t sound much like a disregard of the facts to me.
Watch and decide for yourself (and if there’s suddenly a lot of hatred expressed by Geller in the last 30 minutes, please let me know):
[NOTE: Here’s more about Jonathan Zimmerman. He’s a professor of education and history at NYU. He writes many op-eds, and on Philadelphia’s NPR he “discusses contemporary news events in historical perspective…In 2008 he received NYU’s Distinguished Teaching Award, the university’s highest teaching honor.”]
They hear what they want to hear Neo !
With an attitude like that
how can there be any hope, but these days hope dosen t mean what I think it means anyway! (sigh)
as poster Eric says in previous thread * Its not about what, it s about who*!
Rush L says he learned early on NOT to consent to
MSM interviews, (he turned down confabulator Brian Williams short lived 30 Rock Show)
He said with *them* its not a discussion about
convincing someone of Conservatism, it s all about
getting you in some sort of *bad light* so they can distort your message & ridicule you.
So for the Left there relationship with us is all about Groundhog Day, ad nauseum !
opps Their not there, ( in a hurry making Key Lime pie today !)
One good thing we can say about Zimmerman is that he likely doesn’t lie quite as much as the president.
Their go-to’s are disqualification and straw man.
Zimmerman is a Kapo.
Kapos were an essential component of the running of German National Socialist concentration camps.
“He’s a professor of education and history at NYU.”
Yep, I’m biased because that sentence says all I need to know to NOT trust Zimmerman.
I not surprised that Geller is lied about by Zimmerman, the ‘truth’ for him being whatever supports the narrative at that moment.
Zimmerman claims that asserting the so-called “Ground Zero Mosque” to be the tip of a gigantic plot to “Islamicize” America. Warning that states and localities might adopt Sharia law, which would legalize polygamy and child marriage.
And all of this happening with the blessing of the “pro-Muslim” President Obama.
And asserting that the possibility exist that Obama could be a closet Muslim himself is all evidence of bigotry.
The accusation of bigotry hangs upon none of those assertions having any evidence to support the possibility of their being true.
Evidence for the planned Islamicization of America;
Evidence in support of the warning that states and localities might adopt Sharia law;
“Breitbart Texas confirmed Tuesday that “an Islamic Tribunal using Sharia law” is indeed operating in Texas.”
Evidence that all of this is happening with the blessing of the “pro-Muslim” President Obama;
Evidence in support of the possibility that Obama is in fact a ‘closet’ Muslim;

Report says Malik directs radical Islamic movement’s investments
http://www.wnd.com/2013/08/obamas-brother-linked-to-muslim-brotherhood/#psk2q7RwIP3yHG9L.99
“Malik Obama runs the Barack H. Obama foundation and was the Best Man at the president’s wedding
He appeared at the 2010 Orphans Development Fund conference wearing a Hamas ‘keffiyeh’ scarf with well-known Palestinian slogans printed on it
The sayings included ‘Jerusalem is ours — WE ARE COMING’ and ‘From the river to the sea,’ a statement that suggests Israel doesn’t exist
The president has been tight-lipped about his relationship with Malik, who told GQ in 2013 that the two are closer than Americans think”
“The future must not belong to those who slander the prophet of Islam.” speech before the UN
In “Audacity of Hope” he writes: “I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.”
None of this proves that Obama is a closet Muslim but it DOES support the possibility that he is in fact a Muslim practicing ‘Muruna’, the Sunni version of ‘taqiyya’.
Congratulations to Mr. Geoffrey Britain for a nice summary of the evidence for Geller’s position.
Pamela Geller called Professor Zimmerman a “bald-faced liar” and I have to agree. That said, Zimmerman is probably not completely beyond redemption since he still maintains the importance of one foundation principle of Western Civilization – freedom of speech. In light of his propensity to lie about so much else, I doubt that his grasp of the principle of freedom of speech will withstand the coming challenges.
As the female reporter said concerning the UVA rape charges, we mustn’t let the facts get in the way of a good narrative. The professor has a good narrative so the facts are irrelevant.
I watched the entire video, and nowhere in any of it did I hear Geller say anything that could be construed by a reasonable person to be interpreted as Zimmerman portrays it. Neo, this finding cannot surprise you. I found the perspective of the students’ questions to be unanimously adversarial, and note that they asked them under the watchful gaze of their teacher.
All you need to realize is their deep resentment of the success of Western Civilization to promote the most freedom and prosperity for the comman man. Apologetic elitist pigs remain pigs at the trough of big brother.
Look at the awful Jonathan Zimmerman here:

As I mentioned on the “Strange Bedfellows” comment thread, the Islamist apologist crowd isn’t above lying. But I was perhaps too cavalier about why.
The reason Zimmerman lies about what Geller actually stands for is pretty simple and accuses her of all sorts of beyond-the-pale hatefulness is pretty simple.
He doesn’t want anyone to look at the evidence.
It’s the same reason men accused of rape on a college campus must be denied due process.
I apologize for my editing idiocy above.
But in my own defense, I have a better record in that regard than the NYT.
Professor of Education… NPR… awards…
Of course.
Obama is not a closet Muslim. He is a Muslim by Muslim law, which applied when he was born. If he does not worship as Muslim, then he is an apostate Muslim. He may be convert to another religion (worships himself as the Lightworker) or an atheist, but Muslim law has not changed: he is a Muslim.
Another example of why it is I continue to visit this site; neo-neocon’s pursuit of Truth. Her willingness, scratch that, her dedication to digging below the surface to uncover realities.
Neo, perhaps one day you’ll consider changing your name to something which more accurately defines this highly admirable element of your character.
Thank you for your reflections.
clarity @ 9:07 – – agree!
Hansen and Fernandez (for example) are delightfully insightful, reliable and factual, but neo stays with the details of a story over time, and conveys a sense of trustworthiness no one else quite matches.
Islam in the USA is now just the camel’s nose under the tent. We are insane to pretend otherwise.
We incarcerated the Japanese citizens of the US in WWII because they might–might–be secretly devoted to Tojo and Hirohito, but we give muslims a pass when they are–are in fact–devoted to Mohammad, Allah and all the trash in the Koran. We are cowards and we deserve our upcoming decapitations.
The Democrat party was founded on Hitler’s version of the supreme white race. Slavery was merely a symptom.
When additional effort was needed to separate the Japanese Americans from loyal to traitor, that effort was unnecessary.
When additional effort was needed to defend against Islam or Mexican invasions, that effort is unnecessary.
So long as the Democrats decide it is, they will make it reality. So long as they live and have power that is.

Due to wartime censorship the actual Japanese treasons of that era were entirely suppressed.
The one that probably really started FDR’s pen was the little treason on Ni’ihau December 7, 1941.
A native born local Japanese American flipped allegiance the second a Japanese pilot from the Pearl Harbor attack prompted him to. (!!!!)
The pilot had been compelled to land because of anti-aircraft damage — and Ni’ihau was close by. It had a virtually pure Hawaiian ethnic make-up.
So our traitor promptly uses the pilot’s personal weapon to fire no less than FOUR bullets into his (previously) ‘best buddy.’
The Hawaiian picked him up and killed him with his bare hands… then went off to get medical aid. There were absolutely no medics or doctors on Ni’ihau — but by setting a flag or two, the residents could signal distress that could be spotted all the way from Kauai — when the weather was good.
So, he survived the four bullets fired at point blank range.
This incident became locally famous — and totally blacked out from the Mainland. It led to jokes such as: “What do you do to upset a Hawaiian? … Shoot him four times.”
As you might imagine, the locals — on Ni’ihau went on the war path — and that was about the last time anyone on that island was not a Hawaiian native — exception: the Robinson family. Those Whites/Haoles owned the entire island.
If you’re not ‘hip’ – -haole is a highly derogatory racial term — which directly translated means White or pale.
Anti-haole political-cultural sentiment in the Islands is as thick as sour cream — and everywhere to hand.
Which, of course, ties directly into the weird mentality of Barry Soetoro, our ayatollah.

This squib is not suitable for a full history of wartime Oahu.
Suffice it to say that the US Army took over all political and judicial functions — so completely that the USSC slapped the Army down — in 1943 — ordering martial law to stop.
Until that USSC decision, no-one had ever been found innocent of any legal infraction on Oahu. The typical trial was clocked at 90 seconds — imagine what a short trial meant. (!)

As for Mainland Japanese Americans: the FDR administration conducted MASSIVE illegal wiretaps — NSA style — it’s not a new thing at all. Their primary listening post was at Pacific Bell Telephone — San Francisco. Night after night, call after call, Japanese American citizens averred their treasons to their kin back in the old islands. (!)
Because of the entirely illegal nature of the intercepts — which were used strictly for MILITARY security purposes — no-one was ever brought to trial for their utterances.
Yet, the Feds just couldn’t look past the endless pledges of sabotage (itself a Japanese invention: throwing sabo (wooden shoes) into the textile mills) to be unleashed across the West Coast at every defense plant and military facility.
What ensued: the Japanese Americans found themselves entirely LOCKED OUT the next morning. They’d all lost their jobs/ right of access. The Feds NEVER told the general public what was up — even decades after the war was over.
The Feds never admitted to the wiretaps — there was no Edward Snowden to spill the beans.

Consequently only highly vetted Nisei sons were allowed to enlist — no draftees — they were all volunteers — to establish the 100th battalion.
This is — even now — the ONLY battalion scale military formation in the history of the US Army to have its own unique formation insignia. Most of the famous 442 exploits occurred within the 100th Battalion — and in Italy.
The battalion was expanded up to regimental strength only late into the war. (It was grossly misused.) It famously had White officers. No Japanese Nisei was ever allowed officer status. Whereas this outfit had countless Japanese enlisteds that merited field commissions. (Dan Inouye springs immediately to mind.)
These Nisei boys had to hyper-compensate for their ( big talking, seditious ) fathers. Yes, all that pre-war jabber stayed in the families.
And lest we forget: the FDR administration rounded up countless Italians and Germans, too. This sometimes had amusing outcomes. You can read up on the Italian chefs feeding the prison staff up in Montana — they ex of the Andrea Doria. They started turning every guard into a fattie: Sgt Schultz style.
When September 9, 1943 rolled around… the party was over.
All of the chefs and musicians had to head to the East Coast.
No Italian did escape, though.
