Our Lost Constitution — 9 Comments

  1. I particularly relish the thought of Obama’s professor, Lawrence Tribe, from Harvard commenting on Obama’s behavior toward the Constitution. At a House hearing last month, Mr. Tribe likened the climate change policies of Mr. Obama to “burning the Constitution.”
Mr. Tribe is now defending the country’s largest coal producing company, PEABODY ENERGY. Which is drawing the ire of Progressives, Leftists, Liberals, and most democrats.

This is the same man who showered Obama with accolades and served in part of Baraka’s first administration within the DOJ.

  2. Mike Lee is a formidably brilliant man. Young, too. He and Cruz frequently fly, and fire, in tandem.

“Senator Lee acquired a deep respect for the Constitution early on. His father, Rex Lee, who served as the Solicitor General under President Ronald Reagan, would often discuss varied aspects of judicial and constitutional doctrine around the kitchen table, from Due Process to the uses of Executive Plenary Power. He attended most of his father’s arguments before the U.S. Supreme Court, giving him a unique, hands-on experience and understanding of government up close.

“Lee graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, and served as BYU’s Student Body President in his senior year. He graduated from BYU’s Law School in 1997 and went on to serve as law clerk to Judge Dee Benson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, and then with future Supreme Court Justice Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr. on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

“Lee spent several years as an attorney with the law firm Sidley & Austin specializing in appellate and Supreme Court litigation, and then served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Salt Lake City arguing cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

“Lee served the state of Utah as Governor Jon Huntsman’s General Counsel and was later honored to reunite with Justice Alito, now on the Supreme Court, for a one-year clerkship. He returned to private practice in 2007.

“Throughout his career, Lee earned a reputation as an outstanding practitioner of the law based on his sound judgment, abilities in the courtroom, and thorough understanding of the Constitution.”

  3. I also heard an interview he recently gave. In that interview, he was asked about Harry Reid’s recent remarks about Romney. Sen. Lee gave courtesy and benefit of the doubt to Reid with an “I know Harry Reid” excuse.

I am really tired of these wimps. I want to hear sworn vengeance and a call for a return to code duello. Is Lee really sk naive as to believe Reid has any honor?

  4. ROPWA:

Mike Lee grew up around the Reid family:

Growing up Lee…was friends with Harry Reid’s son Josh. Senator Reid was the Lees’ home teacher. Lee recalls as a child how Senator Reid once locked him and Josh in their garage as a practical joke. According to Lee, the Reid family were the first Democrats he knew well and it was dealing with them that showed him the importance of being able to defend his political views in discussion with those who held other views.

That’s probably why he’s so reluctant to badmouth him.

  5. If the dems are going to import people in masse for the voting, i wonder if they informed those people of their privelges and requirements for stepping over the border?

Almost all male U.S. citizens, and male immigrants, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. It’s important to know that even though he is registered, a man will not automatically be inducted into the military. In a crisis requiring a draft, men would be called in sequence determined by random lottery number and year of birth

Some non-citizens are required to register. Others are not. Non-citizens who are not required to register with Selective Service include men who are in the U.S. on student or visitor visas, and men who are part of a diplomatic or trade mission and their families. Almost all other male non-citizens are required to register, including undocumented immigrants, legal permanent residents, and refugees. The general rule is that if a male non-citizen takes up residency in the U.S. before his 26th birthday, he must register with Selective Service

    .
IF war breaks out, we now have lots of warm bodies we imported to be forced to fight given they stepped over the border..

i wonder if anyone is telling those young adults that?

  6. i do find it interesting that the military will let someone be a conciencious objector… due to religion and other things

but the government wont let a cake maker or photographer in residence do so..

  7. Individuals who are born female and have a sex change are not required to register. U.S. citizens or immigrants who are born male and have a sex change are still required to register.
