When Obama loses Piers Morgan… — 58 Comments

  1. a number of people I know (three, to be exact) have spontaneously started talking to me about how upset they are with Obama.

This is the Left’s Deus ex Machina life cycle. They get together, create a sacrificial goat, put all their sins and guilt unto it, then kill it. They cleanse themselves this way, meanwhile another messiah or god will be elevated to replace the old one, and they will feel perfectly redeemed as a result of this.

The fact that your friends are doing this at once… is a hint that it is not an individual transformation but a group consciousness, the hive mind manipulating tools and cogs.

  2. neo…

This is EXACTLY how the ‘flip’ occurred to RM Nixon.

The 17 minutes did him in.

He, like a late player in a Charlie Chan mystery, was left as the only man standing around to take the blame.

All of the other characters were gone.

ISIS is going to be forgotten in a week.

Ebola-zero is going to sweep the news.

Barry’s biological war upon America, indeed the world, will flip voters like crazy.

We might actually see a voter revolt like 1932.

If you recall, the public actually still liked Hoover — as a man — but their pocketbook DEMANDED change.

FDR had run as the anti-Hoover. He was going to STOP all of the Federal Big Spending!

Yes, yes, that’s what he actually ran on. He painted HOOVER as the spendthrift!

Once in the oval office — FDR flipped the script — burned it — and triple-downed Hoover’s spending programs. This time, without conservative Congressmen to restrain him!

Ebola is simply destined to be what this election is all about.

    It’s THAT explosive.

  3. Ymarsakar:

The three people I’m describing don’t know each other, by the way. Not that this precludes what you’re saying. But I tend to think it’s just something that people who think and operate a certain way have come to, looking at what’s been happening lately. A trend.

  4. Hmm. Thought I posted a comment earlier to let you know that the link is wrong. Sorry if this makes two!

  5. Mrs Whatsit:

Why should I ignore you? The link was wrong–I just fixed it. Thanks!

At least, I think I fixed it. For some reason my computer won’t go there. But I think it’s the right link now.

  6. When Chris tingle up the leg Matthews calls dear leader lazy you know there is blood in the water. Beheadings, ebola and border crash bringing disease to elementary schools, and the beat goes on. Soccer mom is morphing back into 9/12/01 security mom.

  7. I hope that Christie’s pointing out. “by saying ‘they’ rather than ‘we’,” gets some traction. That is because it demonstrates to Obama’s supporters what a slimy, betraying manager he his.

  8. If this is a trend, and if Ymarsakar’s theory is correct, will this help or hurt Hillary?

I presume she’ll be elevated as the savior.

  9. Yup, it’s fixed now.

But as for the substance of the article: much too little, much too late. Piers, where were you and those like you when this kind of honest, scathing analysis might actually have done some good?

  10. CV:

Two of the people who spoke to me are down on Hillary, too, because of her part in the Obama administration.

They are still liberal Democrats, however. But this is all quite recent for them.

  11. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I truly appreciate your efforts and I am waiting for your next write ups thanks
    once again.

  12. Morgan is trash. He’ll stay that way too, once his next Messiah comes along, that misogynistic livestock waiting to be harvested.

  13. Two of the people who spoke to me are down on Hillary, too, because of her part in the Obama administration.

When they are Ordered to change their thoughts when the next Democrat comes along… you think they’ll stand up and say “No More”?

  14. Ymarsakar:

Sometimes a shock like that leads people to question more basic assumptions. Sometimes not. It’s hard to say.

One thing I can say is that these are smart people who, at least in other areas of their lives, think for themselves. I think it’s at least possible they may undergo a more basic political change.

But, like the light bulb joke, they have to want to. It’s not easy. Take it from me.

  15. The three people I’m describing don’t know each other, by the way.

I agree, they don’t need to know each for it to work.

Weapons of mass deception work on unconscious group signals, much like the NYTimes, JournoList, and advertisements in pop culture do.

They don’t need to “know” each other. Cult of personality, though, often requires face to face contact, via “recruitment” or “grooming” or “isolation”.

But I tend to think it’s just something that people who think and operate a certain way have come to, looking at what’s been happening lately.

It may or may not be a trend. But the way the Left works is by mind control and group think domination. That has not changed. That will not change. No matter how many people pipe up and “change” their mind. They’re livestock, they aren’t speaking their thoughts but the words their puppet masters told them to say.

  16. One thing I can say is that these are smart people who, at least in other areas of their lives, think for themselves.

That actually makes it more difficult for an individual to find enough Will and motivation to change themselves. Because if their life is “functional” or they get luxuries because rest of the time they aren’t mouthing off about their hate vessels in the Republican party, they are “fully functional independent individuals”, then why would they change?

It’s like alcoholism, unless there is far more risk and pain than benefit to the drug, they will keep taking it because that’s the path of least resistance? Why buck the trend when living life normally is so much better?

The Democrats and fake liberals that couldn’t stand living like this, have long ago harbored doubts and regrets, enough to break them and change them from the inside out, without the benefit of a JournoList or a group mind telling them what to do and when to do it.

  17. When New Englanders start having doubts about Obama, he not only has lost Piers, he’s lost quite a few mind numbed robots. And THAT’s hard to do.

  18. Matthews and Morgan are semi-idealistic, leftist/LIBERALS and liberals have willingly bought into the left’s bill of goods. Perhaps more than any other premise, they’ve bought into the proposition that dialog, negotiation and sincere appeasement can keep them safe.

But if ISIS terrorist cells start beheading Americans on US soil and/or (we might very well have both) we have an explosion of Ebola cases, the public will quickly turn on Obama en mass because the threat will be personal.

His job at its most basic level is to protect America from external threats and if they start hitting home, all bets are off. It’s that simple.

  19. “DNW, Don Carlos”: I think this was meant for a different comment thread, or I need to get a secret decoder ring.

  20. I’d be interested, Neo, if you could find out what about this surprises your three friends, and why.

  21. Obama is going to get re-dacted no matter what, that’s the Leftist life cycle, how they keep themselves ideologically pure.

Unless of course people think Hussein is going to be President for Life, then they’ll have to re adjust their propaganda.

No matter what they say about Hussein, they will continue supporting the Leftist alliance.

  22. “they will continue supporting the Leftist alliance”

Not exactly, it’s a bit more subtle than that. Political parties do take hits, as 2010 proved. If Obama’s poll numbers drop precipitously, so will polls for congressional democrats. Reid, Pelosi and the loyal troops will be tarred with Obama’s failure too, which is why they don’t want to have anything to do with him this campaign season.

Liberals will keep believing as they do but they just won’t vote for the democrat candidate, instead they’ll vote for something like the green party candidate. For a while and then after a cycle or two they’ll return to the fold.

  23. The Leftist alliance is not a political party. Mis identification of an enemy leads to failure in war.

  24. Playing golf immediately after commenting about the murder of Foley may have been a tipping point.

  25. Far from making America stronger, Obama has made the world’s greatest military power look weak.

So weak that these Jihadist thugs think they can behead American citizens with impunity in glossy snuff movies.

Oh it’s a lot worse than that Piers, Obama funded the jihadist thugs.

  26. Eh …I’m still wondering what the space aliens who kidnapped Piers Morgan and substituted a rational look-alike for him, did with the original Piers. Any bets?

  27. “The Leftist alliance is not a political party.”

No they are not but without the democrat party and most especially without the indoctrinated liberal they have no political power and power is what it is all about for such as they.

  28. No space aliens needed. It’s about the sense of personal threat that motivates such men as Piers.

“A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing that is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.” – John Stuart Mill

Piers is an example of that loathsome type who never misses an opportunity to denigrate the police and military but is the first to scream for them when needed.

  29. It’s beginning to dawn on the left that Obama was never remotely qualified to be President. Several incidents recently make that obvious. I suspect that some of my close friends who went door-to-door to campaign for him are starting to worry about their credibility.

  30. No they are not but without the democrat party and most especially without the indoctrinated liberal they have no political power and power is what it is all about for such as they.

Political power is necessary for certain things to fund their alliance. There will come a time when political power is no longer necessary for them, because they will have transformed the nation into a place where political born is given to certain born classes automatically. Without the need for elections, things go into the next phase.

Britain and the EU still have elections, but it is quite clear that the powers are no longer with the people. With Rotter and the EU Constitution stomping over local nationalities, it’s in effect an oligarchy already. The people and their culture have been destroyed, with some holdouts like the UKIP trying to resist transformation.

So Democrats refuse to vote Democrat? And they vote Republican, will things change? It didn’t change for Britain when they voted Anti Labour vs voting for Labour. They would want to vote out the Islamo rapists, except those votes are canceled.

  31. Just saw on the news an NBC cameraman tested positive for the Ebola virus, in Liberia.

  32. “A more shameless, reprehensible display of buck-passing it would be hard to find from a sitting President.”

Not if you’ve been paying any attention at all to Obama since Jan. 2009. He’s been doing that 24×7.

  33. Beverly…

If ebola was not easily transmitted, absolutely none of the horror in west Africa would have unfolded.

I’m afraid that the African quarantine which I begged for weeks ago… is now too late.

There is simply NO WAY that ebola-zero is the only leaker.

I certainly don’t trust TPTB to level with us proles.

The only logic that explains events is that the maladministration actually believes that it can stand above the fray — even though no anti-dote, no medicine exists — anywhere.

The experts are not even sure if the cure provided to the doctors was what tipped the scales, for multiple therapies were employed at the same time.

This means that we’re all over-rating the touted drug cocktail.

We’re left praying like some poor soul in the 14th Century.

BTW, science/ medicine never found a cure for Spanish flu, either. It just petered out after killing millions and changing the politics of the 20th Century.

Yet the fools STILL have access to the microphone – and are having their nostrums followed religiously.

America needs to stay in contact with west Africa like I need to stick my hand in molten steel.

  36. “It is characteristic of a tyrant to dislike every one who has dignity or independence; he wants to be alone in his glory, but any one who claims a like dignity or asserts his independence encroaches upon his prerogative, and is hated by him as an enemy to his power. Another mark of a tyrant is that he likes foreigners better than citizens, and lives with them and invites them to his table; for the one are enemies, but the Others enter into no rivalry with him.”

  37. I keep forgetting about all the disasters of this administration because it seems like new ones come along almost daily.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I think the world is starting to learn what happens when no adults are in charge in the White House. This is what happens when, as many seem to have wished, America takes a holiday. I think the old adage: “Be careful what you wish for” applies very well.

    Worst. President. Ever.

  38. I never ever dreamed there could ever be a worse president than Carter, especially in my lifetime. Unfortunately, early in his stay, he has sunk to the new low.

  39. this latter type of insecurity was one which afflicted rather Liberal rulers than Russian people; for Liberal rulers have invariably sensed that their rule was relatively archaic in form fragile and artificial in its psychological foundation, unable to stand comparison or contact with political conservative political systems.

For this reason they have always feared penetration, feared direct contact between the conservative world and their own, feared what would happen if Liberals learned truth about world or if conservatives learned truth about world within.

They have learned to seek security only in patient but deadly struggle for total destruction of rival power, never in compacts and compromises with it.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Liberals will, as a rule, work toward destruction of all forms of personal independence, economic, political or moral. Their system can handle only individuals who have been brought into complete dependence on higher power. Thus, persons who are financially independent–such as individual businessmen, estate owners, successful farmers, artisans and all those who exercise local leadership or have local prestige, such as popular local clergymen or political figures, are anathema

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

In general, all Liberal efforts on unofficial plane will be negative and destructive in character, designed to tear down sources of strength beyond reach of Liberal control. This is only in line with basic Liberal instinct that there can be no compromise with rival power and that constructive work can start only when Liberal power is doming But behind all this will be applied insistent, unceasing pressure for penetration and command of key positions in administration and especially in police apparatus of the country.

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

In summary, we have here a political force committed fanatically to the belief that with US there can be no permanent modus vivendi that it is desirable and necessary that the internal harmony of our society be disrupted, our traditional way of life be destroyed, the international authority of our state be broken, if Liberal power is to be secure.
    …..
In addition, it has an elaborate and far flung apparatus for exertion of its influence, an apparatus of amazing flexibility and versatility, managed by people whose experience and skill in underground methods are presumably without parallel in history.
    …..
It is seemingly inaccessible to considerations of reality in its basic reactions. For it, the vast fund of objective fact about human society is not, as with us, the measure against which outlook is constantly being tested and re-formed, but a grab bag from which individual items are selected arbitrarily and tendenciously to bolster an outlook already preconceived. This is admittedly not a pleasant picture. Problem of how to cope with this force in [is] undoubtedly greatest task our country has ever faced and probably greatest it will ever have to face.

It should be approached with same thoroughness and care as solution of major strategic problem in war, and if necessary, with no smaller outlay in planning effort. I cannot attempt to suggest all answers here. But I would like to record my conviction that problem is within our power to solve–and that without recourse to any general military conflict..

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Liberal powerm is neither schematic nor adventunstic. It does not work by fixed plans. It does not take unnecessary risks. Impervious to logic of reason, and it is highly sensitive to logic of force. For this reason it can easily withdraw–and usually does when strong resistance is encountered at any point. Thus, if the adversary has sufficient force and makes clear his readiness to use it, he rarely has to do so. If situations are properly handled there need be no prestige-engaging showdowns.

Our first step must be to apprehend, and recognize for what it is, the nature of the movement with which we are dealing. We must study it with same courage, detachment, objectivity, and same determination not to be emotionally provoked or unseated by it, with which doctor studies unruly and unreasonable individual.

    there is more…
    there is always more..

  40. I have to wonder if Ebola is going to turn out to the “October Surprise” that works in favor of the Republicans in just 4 months. (Of course, it would help if the Republicans themselves were in favor of the Republicans, but that may be too much to ask. That Party is run by idiots.)

But there are a couple of caveats to this:

    1. It’s not really a surprise to anyone with a brain.

    2. I always felt the “October Surprise” meme implied something done by political enemies for political reasons, and that wouldn’t apply here.

    3. I’d rather not see Ebola (or Enterovirus 68) become so big in the U.S. that it actually helps sway an election, despite the fact that the Democrats brought this on themselves, but that means real people are suffering and dying needlessly. I don’t care what the politic calculus is… I don’t want to see that.

    4. But if it does, hopefully it will sway some people to consider common sense over politics, which is always a good thing. Obama rode a wave of politics over common sense, and to see it begin to crumble is to see this country and society start to step back from the abyss. It would help if there were an opposition party worth supporting, but hopefully that will come in time.

  41. p.s. If Ebola does really get out of control, how long will it be until a major politician or media figure suggests this is a Republican plot to sway the election?

I suggest less than a week.

  42. colagirl, Carmen

I estimate that the Leftist alliance has deployed no more than 11% of their total power since the percentages started increasing exponentially in 2007.

Biowarfare might push it up to 15% though. When 50% hits, the war will either be over or people will try to fight and then lose because they lost too much time.

  43. Two of the people who spoke to me are down on Hillary, too, . . .
They are still liberal Democrats, however. But this is all quite recent for them. (Neo @5:49 above)

I suggest that there are two parts to this. The first is to call into question that the liberal left is always right (in both the factual and the moral sense); this is the initial crack in their “political dyke.” The second part is that they begin to accept the fact that opponents of the political left aren’t evil, stupid, knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers just because they oppose the political left.

The problem as I see it, is that these two parts don’t depend on one another. One can take step one but never reach step two and both must occur to begin to catalyze any kind of meaningful change in one’s belief system.

  44. In 2009, a group of Mexican students marched and waved a Mexican flag around the Live Oak campus in front of all the school.

Some non-Hispanic students then raised the American flag on a tree to show their American patriotism. The Mexican group found this offensive, and then the two groups exchanged profanity-laced threats.

To fix the ‘problem’, the principal issued an order banning students from wearing Stars and Stripes shirts. If a student was caught in violation of the crime of wearing the American flag they would either have to turn them inside-out or go home. The incident garnered national attention as many expressed outrage that students were barred from wearing patriotic clothing.

In the original ruling, a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals decided that past problems at the school gave officials sufficient and justifiable reasons for the order. In its opinion, the court said that schools in general have wide latitude in curbing certain civil rights to ensure campus safety.

  45. Artfldgr Says:

    >> the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals

Well, there’s your problem. The 9th Circuit is nothing but judicial activism in pursuit of cultural Marxism. The SCOTUS overrules them more than any other court, and with good reason.

  46. I’m still partial to the self-regard explanation: the left see themselves as enlightened. The most devastating thing to them is when other cognoscenti (e.g. Europeans) start mocking them.

Foreign policy is the left’s downfall, because they cannot control opinion in other countries.

  47. }}} So weak that these Jihadist thugs think they can behead American citizens with impunity in glossy snuff movies.

Whaddya mean, Piers, you chowderhead? As long as Teh One is in power, THEY CAN.

The only hope is to get a Republican PotUS the next time through. They’ll probably figure out the same thing that Iran figured out in 1980.

  48. I will note — and I’m not happy to be right, but I DID say it in 2007:

“If that son of a bitch gets elected, the people will learn what it means to have a quivering mound of incompetence like Jimmy Carter in the office.”

I’m on public record with that statement. Probably here. :-S
