The White House on the children and families crossing the border illegally: see, we’re trying really really hard!

White House Domestic Policy Council director Cecilia Munoz, in a call with the press:
…[blamed] misinformation that is being deliberately planted by criminal organizations, by smuggling networks, about what people can expect if they come to the United States” for the influx of Central Americans.
This may just be the truest thing the administration has said in years.
Of course, belief in the untrue assertions of those “criminal organizations” and “smuggling networks” was encouraged by Obama’s bypassing Congress in June of 2012, prior to the 2012 election, to announce his very own passage of the blocked DREAM act. But who needs Congress?—we don’t need no steenking Congress.
More from the administration yesterday [emphasis mine]:
Deputy DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the department is “surging resources to increase our capacity to detain individuals and adults with children, and to handle immigration court hearings.”
“This will allow Immigration and Customs Enforcement ”” or ICE ”” to return unlawful migrants from Central America who are ordered removed to their home countries more quickly,” Mayorkas said. “”¦With very few exceptions, all individuals apprehended, including adults with children, are placed in removal proceedings.”
“”¦But let me make one very important point, and that is that our detention and notice-to-appear decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, and of course, our detention decisions are predicated on an assessment of our prioritization, including at the very top our national security and public safety concerns.”
Sounds pretty tough, right? Of course, why was there virtually no response from the feds till now, after the whole thing was publicized on Fox?
And then there’s also this [emphasis mine]:
“The question before us is how can we make the process more efficient, given the surge in the number of individuals who are being apprehended, and how best can we address those individuals in terms of their humanitarian claims of relief, as well as the removal for those who are not claiming credible fear,” Mayorkas said.
Aye, there’s the rub. Who among them don’t have “humanitarian claims,” and who wouldn’t be claiming “credible fear”? Nobody.
You think I’m making up that “nobody”? Think again:
…[T]he children and adults respond with very deliberate and rehearsed answers when questioned by Border Patrol.
They immediately claim credible fear from gang violence or say, “I was scared I would be killed,” one of the Border Patrol agents working along the border told TheBlaze.
“It’s something they’re all saying and it’s obvious that it is well-rehearsed and it is a consistent story,” said Albert Spratte, a Border Patrol agent and union representative with the National Border Patrol Council’s Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley sector. “We can’t even get them to answer their name before they tell us the gangs were the reason they fled their country.”
And what of the administration’s policy of releasing the newcomers with a letter to appear in court in a bit? That usually goes about as you’d expect:
They all know that their family and friends before them received an “order to appear in court” document that allows them safe passage throughout the country.
The illegal immigrants rarely report to court within the 90 days ordered, and most disappear into the fabric of immigrant communities throughout the country without fear of deportation.
I don’t see either Munoz or Mayorkas announcing a change in that policy.
The whole thing seems to be a pretense to give the appearance of action when in fact all that might happen is a speeding-up of an already corrupt system. Why no National Guard to actually guard the borders? One can only conclude that it’s because the federal government has no intention of stopping this influx.
I think we should make it clear that our country doesn’t look kindly on parents who send their kids on a 1300 mile journey alone. These are not the kind of people likely to gain guest worker status or green cards.

From my latest estimate, the FBI and the CIA seem to be competent in their field, whether domestic or foreign. One of the latest FBI raids in California, to nab a Democrat operative that was building biological IED bombs in his home off a website black market supplier, actually followed semi sane SOP and field operative guidelines. The War on Terror has improved FBI domestic capabilities and CIA foreign capabilities.
I’m sure the FBI have been ordered by the US Regime to let terrorists go and filter them out of any pick ups or raids, which led to Marathon style bombing and Ft. Hood 1 style internal deaths.
It’s the local teams trained by the police union blood money that is very susceptible to Authority. The ATF, IRS, NPS, seem much more…. weaponized than other ABC federal orgs.
The State police also seem to not be loyal to the same police unions, since if Louisiana has a state police union, it doesn’t stop the State Police from trying to indict the NOPD New Orleans force on corruption and vice charges. (Although they fail due to political pressure)
It would be interesting to cross reference California and Illinois State Police records with Georgia, Montana, and Texas’ State Police. The statistics might show a common trait or a disparate trait.
In 2007-08 I expected the Left to spend at max another 50 years training up their strategic and tactical forces, to purge their enemies from existence once they feel ready, with an October Surprise so to speak. That’s why I found it frustrating that people were laughing about Amazon purchases and all that other BS going around. The war in Iraq was going rather well, but people refused to believe that a greater enemy needed to be killed at home.
In 50 years, if the LEft unleashed their strategic forces, the US patriots would FOLD in under a year, completely wiped out by an army numbering in the tens of millions. Every neighborhood would be its own concentration camp, guarded by FEMA and local police, with minefields, death dogs, and various other effects.
However, Hussein’s actions have tripped the line much earlier than I expected. Reducing Civil War II from 50 years max, to 25 years max. And now down to 12-14 years, given recent developments and time increases. The more the Left’s strategic assets are deployed, from the 10% we see now to the 50% that will be the trigger point, the closer the inevitable conflict becomes. By the time 100% is expended, the LEft would either have won or they would have been wiped from existence. Nobody expends all their assets unless it is do or die.
The IRS and the ATF can be considered Strategic Weapons.

Gateway Pundit has a piece about 178 of these unaccompanied children being toddlers. This is almost as bad as Palestinian mothers dressing their kids in bomb belts. We hear all the time about how strong Hispanic families are, so why aren’t Hispanics screaming about this? We need to shove this in their faces till they are forced to make a stand. We do have some basic standards her, among which is abandonning babies is criminal.
OMT: Don’t we have State Dept. people in these countries who listen to local radio and watch TV? Aren’t they supposed to provide on-the-ground info to their bosses in DC, or are they all products of uninformed do-gooder bubbles back home? How come no one in DC did anything to counter this propaganda before the kids started their journeys across Mexico? Or did they think preparing for the influx was better than trying to prevent it?

The only people who don’t know the game plan are the Americans. For most of the country, they can’t see it from their house, so it’s not a problem. But there will come a time when we are 2 countries. Islamic Jihad was not the greatest threat to the US in 2008. After all, the US armed forces were killing them by the truckloads in Afghanistan and Iraq. That could be kept up almost indefinitely and is far superior to creating TSA defenses on the homeland for “security”.
The greatest threat to Americans are other Americans. Specifically the lawyer and public unions. The Democrat heads of police and committees. DC. Congress. Other Americans basically. The greatest enemy is always oneself, never foreigners.

Like CAIR, they (at least the U.S. citizen members) should be rounded up and tried for treason. The rest should be deported.

Sovereign nations have always protected their borders. Why? The main reason is that we humans have this proclivity for taking by force that which doesn’t belong to us. In fact, when you look at history, that urge has been one of the main drivers of war. As we have become less warlike and commerce among nations has grown, new reasons for controlling borders have arisen. One has been to prevent agricultural pests from invading. Another has been to prevent disease that may cause epidemics from crossing the borders. Another is to ensure that those coming to reside here are needed (a shortage of labor) and will be an asset to the country both politically (they will accept free market democracy) and economically (There is a need for their labor).
Try to move to Mexico or Canada to live and work without getting the government’s permission. You can’t.
The problem we have today stems from the destruction of the Bracero program that was in place until 1964, when the United Farm Workers, under Cesar Chavez forced it to end. The program ended but the influx of farm workers didn’t. Under the Bracero program the workers went back to Mexico after the harvests were completed. But after 1964 many just decided to stay north of the border, illegally. In 1986 official amnesty was given to those illegals and the border was going to be closed. The efforts to close the border were insufficient, and more illegals came and stayed.
Today we have two factions that want the present situation to continue. Farmers, meat packers, landscapers, and home builders want the cheap labor. They exert a lot of pressure on the administration and Congress. The other faction is the democrat party. They see the illegals (particularly their children who are citizens by dint of being born here) as a source of votes. Obama’s edict that children under 16 can be treated more preferentially than adults has led to this onslaught. Unless we close our borders the issue can never be resolved.
I liken what is happening to what you see in a culture with not much rule of law. In those cultures anyone who has any private property worth having is seen as a target by the have-nots. Thus, you will see residences with high walls topped with broken glass shards and/or concertina wire/electric wire. They are enforcing boundaries to protect their families. Sovereign nations have the right to do that as well.
Another interesting thing is that we don’t have Canadians moving here illegally. They understand the rule of law and have created enough wealth and opportunity for their people that an illegal move to the U.S. is not a winner in their minds.
When someone tells you it is a humanitarian necessity to take these people from badly governed countries, tell them that we are glad to take people from those countries, if they will just get in line and come here legally. Also ask them if they are cool with letting some local poor people just move in with them uninvited? That’s what is happening on the southern border right now.
Close the border! Close the border! Close the border! Keep telling your Congress Critters until they get the message.
I still don’t see any proof, JJ, that Congress is paying attention. How do you prove that they are reading and responding to your letters, instead of having their secretaries auto fax and auto sign responses from a prepackaged response form?
Ymarsakar, the reason why they have e-mail addresses and phone numbers is so their constituents can contact them. If you are a veteran with issues with the VA, that’s the place to go. It’s called a representative democracy because they are elected to represent their constituents – us. They listen. They may not agree, but they know when the calls and letters to do something are running above 50% of their contacts, they best not ignore them. Until the elections are officially cancelled, that is the only way to get their attention. Going to their local offices is another way to communicate your ideas and opinions. Takes some effort, (I have to drive 45 minutes south and spend some time finding a parking spot) but I do it frequently. When your representative has a town hall meeting, you should be there. I go. In this day and age being a citizen is not a spectator sport. If anything is going to change, we have to get in the game. As Eric calls it, being an activist. Believe me, my representative knows who I am. I’ve talked to her face to face on several occasions. She may not agree with me, but she knows where I stand. As long as people stand around sucking their thumbs and think they can have no affect on the issues, they’ll be right. Do nothing = nothing changes.
Apparently the feds were hiring escort and resettlement people for 65,000 child illegal aliens as of January. How did they know they’d need them?
