And now for Obamacare and the small businesses — 12 Comments

  1. This is a message to Obama and the Dems to delay it until after the elections. WAPO is telling them that they and the other fascist propagandists will cover up things as long and as artfully as they can, but that Obama and Reid had better “delay” another implementation.

In other words, they are telling a lawless tyrant who happens to be President to continue his lawless tyranny, but to be smart about it.

The words of Thomas More about what happens when the law is cut down and the devil then turns on the Obamas, Reids and Pelosis of the worlds is my only consolation. Someday, they will pay for their sins. WAPO wants to delay that day for as long as possible.

  2. There is no way this is going to happen in October…. by some executive order or other such shenanigans, they will delay the October surprise until after the elections. I’ll put money on it.

  3. Well… So far it’s unanimous: Flat out, the Obama Administration will not allow this avalanche of crud to tumble out of the closet three weeks before an election. If they suspect a Republican landslide they’ll stall it off six months and then blame all the bankruptcies and job loses on them.

  4. I too believe the usurper in chief will issue an executive order or bully the insurers into delaying notifications under the threat there will be no bailout (insurers will be begging for bailouts by October, if not sooner) unless they comply.

  5. reading the paragraph, and knowing dialoguing to consensus methods, thats exactly what the admin did.

ie. dialogued them to a false consensus knwing that there was no way for them to check the numbers with each other and get information so that they could act.

ripped right out of the dialoguing to consensus handbook

  6. “The only news is why the WaPo has decided to finally report it.”
So they can keep pretending they are really, really, really a newspaper. Earlier reports and warnings were made by lying liar Republicans and were thus illegitimate and probably wrong too. Now that the truth of the matter can no longer be denied, it must be reported on.
Wish I’d been awake enough to cancel my subscription to that propaganda tabloid decades before I finally did. Thank-you internet for letting me read Will and Krauthammer without having to buy the Washington ComPost.

  7. I really don’t know if the following is relevant.

During the Clinton years I read the Buffalo News daily and listened to NPR daily, although I was not a Leftist.

Both venues would not report on a Clinton scandal for a long time, and then would briefly report on it in an incoherent way.

Then they would take the pov that the scandal had been exhaustively reported (it had not in those venues) and was tedious and no longer newsworthy.

I wonder if and when we might get a similar “move on” unified front in the near future, the soviet media taking the position that “we” are sick and tired of the obamacare “scandal.”

  8. Is ironic from the civil rights, minorities-uber-alles viewpoint, No? “the terminations affected only the small minority of Americans”
What if the terminated had all been black? What if they’d all been HIV positive gays?

  9. The is a REAL problem with an imperial delay: to really work its magic it needs to shove the problem a FULL year down the road.

No member of the Insurance Cartel could fail to see how it’s in his advantage to send the notices out on a timely manner. If they don’t flow — then the cash flow doesn’t flow in a timely manner.

We’re about to see the impact of this even during 2014. The proles are NOT kicking in to the Insurance Cartel — and the physicians are NOT signing on the dotted line.

We’re ONLY two-weeks into this travail. Wait until the Cartel is asked to ‘storm Moscow’ in October!

Yeah, the emperor has their backs, all right.

There is high turnover in small businesses, anyway. Wait until the shock waves from business non-starts ripples through the economy.

American politicians expect small business start-ups the same way you and I expect our next heart beat.

By Summer, the PTB are going to be in cardiac distress.

By late Fall, mass derangement will afflict the entire clique.

At some point, Soros, (aka the Anti-Christ) will find out that Reflexivity is going to touch even him. There can be no safe place to hide when the economic order of the planet rips asunder.

Red China is trying, as best it can, to halt the run-away liquidity expansion that the previous regime imposed. But, the raft of state can be poled only so far. Logs will be cut loose — and some rolling will be in order. Most will end up in the drink.

Japan is still in crisis… duck style. While Tokyo appears serene on the surface, she must be paddling like mad. The relaxation of the Iranian oil tourniquet is the primary reason why Japan has a record balance of trade hole. She ran out and bought every barrel to be had before Iranian prices rebounded even more.

It’s now plain that TEPCO is so profoundly incompetent that the national government is going to have to step in. Worse, they’re going to have to go all the way to GE to find expertise. It’s shameful all the way around. GE has taken a huge prestige hit since TEPCO was following GE’s workbook.

Fear of tsunamis has Germany shutting down its atomic plants. I suspect that even Sweden now fears tsunamis.

[A tsunami 9,000+ ybp drowned the Heligoland Bight — and formed the modern North Sea coast. Bones and artefacts are still coming up with each seine. This event just might be related to the massive impact that hit Greenland, rocked the North American plate — creating the Hudson River valley and the harbor of New York City. A fragment of that impact was exhumed in the 19th Century and shipped to a New Jersey museum — no-one comprehending exactly what they were really looking at. Even now, experts are trying to find ONE crater — when the impact was a zipper strike — from Michigan on up to Greenland. Most all of the evidence has been melted away. At the time, the Earth had epic steam explosions that could’ve been heard around the planet. These reverbs were surely taken as the god thunder. The resultant tsunami, then, surely the wrath of god. BTW, most of the impact rock was shunted off — and would appear to the modern expert as an ‘erratic.’ ]

Thought you’d want to know, just post’n.

The upshot: the global economy is in severe distress — and can’t take too much more of any central bank’s ministrations.

  10. Just to add to the dogpile: I agree that Obama will do something to delay the employer mandate.
I expect such a delay to be as short as possible though, for a couple of reasons:
    1) Putting it too far off endangers Democrats in 2016. The only way Obamacare is going to be repealed is with a Republican president.
    2) I don’t think Obama is a “team player” enough to cede the glory of his signature program to Hillary (assuming she wins in 2016). He wants it implemented on HIS watch, and he’s running out of time. I’m not sure he trusts her enough to get it right, anyway.

In the end (as in the beginning!), Obama’s ego may be his downfall and the downfall of Obamacare.

  11. “I too believe the usurper in chief will issue an executive order or bully the insurers into delaying notifications under the threat there will be no bailout (insurers will be begging for bailouts by October, if not sooner) unless they comply.”

The idea of removing the bailout provision is already being floated. It should start in the House, to prove that Republicans oppose bailouts. The bill will then go to Harry Reid’s desk to die.

This will be unpopular (though I expect Dems to calculate that damage will be minimized by lack of media coverage), but Obama and the Democrats need that leverage over the insurers, especially if as parker suggests they plan on pushing back the employer mandate. They can only do that with the complicity of the insurers, who will be subject to massive legal liability if Obama does it (again) by executive order. [insurers are liable for notifying policy holders in a timely manner about changes…like say, CANCELLATIONS!]
In this case, Republicans “win” by opposing more cronyism in the eyes of the voters.

If the bill somehow passed, insurers would be staring at their own bankruptcy. In that case, they would be easily persuaded to join the Republicans in calling for repeal.
