Guest posting at Legal Insurrection
William Jacobson is off on vacation, lucky guy, and I’m one of several bloggers who will be filling in for about ten days. It’s an honor, because I deeply respect Professor Jacobson, and have also been especially admiring of the coverage Andrew Branca offered there during the Zimmerman trial.
I’ll probably deal with the situation by cross-posting articles at both blogs. For example, I’ve submitted the post below to them, which is due to go up there some time later today, probably in the early evening. I will publish an addendum to the post below with a link when it goes up. You can comment here or comment there or comment at both places—the more the merrier.
Isn’t saying “typical white person” profiling? And what, exactly, IS a typical white person?
I would have loved to ask the son of a bitch that question during one of the “debates,” particularly the one Candie Crowley moderated.
If this crap continues, what’s left of this country won’t survive. Calm the waters? Why should I do that when there are so many typical white persons to blame?

Congrats neo. I’ve followed Jacobson pretty much from the beginning, and he’s never left my blogroll.

We’re going on vacation too. Leaving for a cabin on a lake in far northern Minnesota at 9am sharp. I’m packed and taking a last look at the news & views before heading into no cellphone coverage territory. (The wife is still packing.) We’re looking forward to days spent fishing, listening to the loons, watching osprey dive bomb the lake, swimming and boating, 3 grandkids to enjoy, and star filled nights. Back to reading neo & the gang in 10 days. We’ll eat some pike and walleye for you fine folks. I’m off to bed.

Jacobsen’s title at Cornell, per the blog, is “Clinical Professor of Law.”
In medicine, one gets a “clinical” professorship for being volunteer part-time faculty, usually without any pay or benefits.

In law school it usually means a professorship dealing with the practice of law rather than the theoretical part, but it doesn’t mean it’s without pay or benefits. It may or may not be tenure track. Here’s the Cornell list. Here’s William Jacobson’s resume.
