Apparently that 3 A.M. call came… — 12 Comments

  1. Now, some of the libertarians I read are saying the House report shows that military action could not have been taken. But what they’re referring to is actual boots on the ground, as they say. A plane or, gosh, a bad ass helicopter with missiles could have been there shortly. As could some targeted drone strikes, which apparently we reserve for killing citizens in foreign countries.

  2. All the misdirection and stonewalling of team Obama keeps sputtering along with the assistance of the MSM. However, if congress starts operating as a co-equal branch of government and exercises its authority the cracks will widen and Benghazi will become the undoing of the messiah and Hillary. If is a big word, but there are millions of voters who want answers and we need to keep telling our representatives we expect the truth to will out.

  3. So where were Hillary and Obama during all of this? It’s not as if it happened so quickly no one had time to track them down. What was more important than this? And whose fault is it that the State Dept. had no procedures in place and no one knew how to react? It’s not like security threats are something new.

This is what happens when you elect a president with zero leadership and management skills (and no real track record of accomplishment), and when he hires a Sec. of State with the same leadership deficit (and a career that relied on proximity to her husband). These two are the ultimate examples of the Peter principle and affirmative action hires.
I’m sorry that people had to die because of their incompetence. After the Boston Marathon bombing (another example of the administration’s failure to detect & stop terrorist attacks), I fear more lives will be lost to terrorism on Obama’s watch.

  4. “I fear more lives will be lost to terrorism on Obama’s watch.”

For team Obama every crisis is either an opportunity to exploit or a useful distraction.

He’s a very bad president and he is certainly not a good man.

  5. Something I would find hard to believe is that anyone is suprised by this. Inaction like this was completely predictable five years ago.

  6. The interesting thing is that, when it mattered, Hillery voted for the Iraq War. Given Obama and the left’s view on that, how could she be considered a good choice for SoS?

Hillary was right about Obama’s qualifications for taking the call, but as it turns out, she wasn’t any better qualified.

  7. This is the main reason why the MFM spiked the story. This Romney ad would’ve written itself. Enough of them remember what the events in Iran in1979 did to Carter’s re-election.

  8. Over at Blackfive, somebody made an obvious point.
Panetta said you don’t send troops into unknown situations. Well, sometimes you do.
But in this case…we had two Navy SEALs feeding real time info. Recon drone overhead.
    That’s fat city for information.
IOW, bullshit for the civilian market.

  9. Oh, yeah.
One of the ex-SEALs was reported to have been painting a target with a laser designator.
You don’t do this unless you have somebody ready to shoot for you. You don’t do this on the hope that somebody will fly by and decide that this laser dot would be fun to use as a targeting item.
If you don’t have somebody ready to shoot for you, it’s a waste of time. Better be doing something productive like shooting or moving or communicating or hiding.
Dollars to donuts this poor chump was in commo with somebody about shooting PDQ.
Like to know more about that interchange and why the fire never came.

  10. Knowing this clown and his administration will not lift a finger to help you when things go south, I wonder who in their right mind would want an assignment in the state department? The turnover at the Middle East desk must be pretty high since last September.

  11. Southpaw.
They have to balance that against the Saudi supplement to the retirement plan.
