Robert Bork, dead at 85 — 7 Comments

  1. The Left has replaced the term “borking” with “swift-boating,” so that we all might forget what they did to an outstanding man and jurist.

  2. We need to block every Red (for that’s who’s calling the shots, not Dems) nominee for every office from here out. We have played by the rules, and voted on the fitness and qualifications of nominees (Ruth Bader Ginsburg sailed through the Senate on a nearly unanimous vote, IIRC), whereas the Reds have shamelessly voted on the policies of our nominees, regardless of their qualifications.

We need to adopt their strategy, and bitterly oppose every nominee who isn’t conservative, if necessary ruthlessly smearing them the way the Reds do decent men such as Robert Bork.

I don’t like this, and write it with a heavy heart, but we’re in a street fight, not a boxing match.

  3. What they did to Thomas was worse because no one really believed the stuff about Bork. To this day, Thomas, a black man, is known as a sex-crazed womanizer who is too stupid to be on the court. He might just be the second most brilliant mind on there (besides Scalia.)

  4. The wretched NYT obit headline today sez in part “….Whose Supreme Court Bid Set the Senate Afire.”
Yup, blame the victim; he incited his own slander.

  5. God Bless You, Mr.Bork, and all you stood for. Great Jurist, Great Man. You swatted the pygmies nicely, Sir. Can’t find Teddy Boy in that beautiful new home you’re occupying? He’s turning on a spit in that hotter place…with audio blaring of his own voice blathering, “..in ROBERT BORK’S AMERICA…”
