Why has Obama been so negative throughout his 2012 campaign? — 22 Comments

  1. Amazing that Romney caused this considering that Obama’s nastiest comments were made when he went off-teleprompter. Better still that Romney also controlled Obama’s tone of voice and his facial expression while delivering such lovely comments as “You didn’t build that” and “Voting is the best revenge.” Then again, if – as Obama’s own super PAC has implied – Romney has the ability to give people cancer, then why not super speech control abilities as well?

  2. Who was it that claimed a certain ethnic group forced him to deal with them … permanently?

Must think … must think …

  3. if — as Obama’s own super PAC has implied — Romney has the ability to give people cancer, then why not super speech control abilities as well?

Hey, I want someone with that kind of mojo as President. I was undecided before (kidding), but now I know whom to vote for. Thanks, Obama Super PAC!

  4. What a bunch of-how does Biden put it?-a “bunch of malarkey” Obama is petty and mean spirited. He has never refrained from any nasty tactics in any political campaign he’s been involved in. “Republicans made him do it.” ROTFL.

  5. But all that nastiness wasn’t really comfortable for Obama

Alice Palmer and Jack Ryan might just beg to differ.

  6. Aren’t all these *little gems* that come out about courses that obama was forced to take just an actual tactic from
Sol Alinskey’s Rules for Radicals ?

  7. Ok people the morrow beckons, let’s go get em. Neo salutes for your posts. And Obama a message ( democrats love messages) for your personal trials;
“Scorn and defiance; slight regard, contempt,
And any thing that may not misbecome
    The sender”
    Sorry Shakespeare it seemed apt.

  8. ” to be the reach-across-the-aisle transformational healer he would so like to be”

And Stalin was just a soft hearted guy who loved little children and kittens.

  9. make an accounting of every angle this thing is being worked at amorally and statistically (like tossing a two headed coin), would make people really wonder.

“Seems a test-page for tomorrow night’s results has gone public.”

    besides
    the military votes fiasco
the dead, pets, and so on voting fiasco
the multiple votes per person fiasco
the black panthers at polling stations fiasco
    the voter id fiasco
    and more..

there are these ambiguous accidents that basically seem to be relying on our desire to forgive a faux pas, but run them out on rails in a lie.

my mistake… sorry we put up the announcement that obama wins on a court show… sorry we slipped him winning the electoral college vote after losing the popular vote… sorry we were so negative, they made us do it (arent they scum and deserve what happens to them?)…

oh… and dont think that the twitters as to rioting doesnt influence votes, it does…

  10. Obama officials say their boss had no choice but to run the campaign he did, given Romney’s fact-challenged attacks on Obama’s record.

That dastardly Mitt Romney, a.k.a. Snidely Whiplash, spread lies about Obama’s record, such as Romney’s saying that the unemployment rate the last four years has been very high. Everyone knows that the current unemployment rate is the lowest in forty years. 🙂

From what I have read, Obama has a rather strong dislike of Romney. He didn’t need to crank it up for the campaign.

  11. Gringo, while that is one of many references, i would beg to differ and put forth this instead.

But in calling Moriarty a criminal you are uttering libel in the eyes of the law – and there lie the glory and the wonder of it! The greatest schemer of all time, the organizer of every deviltry, the controlling brain of the underworld, a brain which might have made or marred the destiny of nations – that’s the man! But so aloof is he from general suspicion, so immune from criticism, so admirable in his management and self-effacement, that for those very words that you have uttered he could hale you to a court and emerge with your year’s pension as a solatium for his wounded character. Is he not the celebrated author of The Dynamics of an Asteroid, a book which ascends to such rarefied heights of pure mathematics that it is said that there was no man in the scientific press capable of criticizing it? Is this a man to traduce? Foulmouthed doctor and slandered professor – such would be your respective roles! That’s genius, Watson.
    –Holmes, The Valley of Fear

See? the parallels are endless, paranoia, a 6% solution in there somewhere, arch nemesis of the right having this huge invisible machination machine that no one can see but they refer to.

its like listening to various characters from literature being pulled out of a pocket to fit a theatrical situation that then leads to a salient goal.

After the election, will he become Ahab?

    which literary character is next?

  12. My Gawd, what absolute CRAP. Why The Boy King is within 15%-points of Mitt is a mystery for the ages. A Punk, A Moral Midget, A Coward, A Liar, A Narcissist, A HARD Leftist.

We need to be rid of him and his Stench.

  13. After reading this post Neo, I realize that Obama’s greatest asset is the grace and beauty his wife consistently displays and brings along side our fine leader. Mrs. Obama has done so much for women in America seeking to further express their femininity with grace and style. Always a kind smile and an encouraging word – certainly our dear leader can expect to receive an appropriate reward because of her shining example. A happy home is a productive home!

  14. “It’s really hard to get into the mode of, ‘Well, I have to talk to these guys in Medina, Ohio. For 3½ years, nobody tells the president, ‘You f–ed up,’ and all of a sudden people are telling him what to do. … So, I think Obama wants to be there, wants to be president, but he doesn’t necessarily want to do all the things he had to do to be there,” said Richard Ben Cramer, author of “What It Takes,” a landmark chronicle of the trials of the 1988 presidential candidates.

I really, truly, deeply hope that after tomorrow Obama won’t have to listen to any more of the annoying plebians who are so unworthy of his attention, nor will he have to work so darned hard and risk getting any more scars trying to implement the change he’s struggled to achieve for the past four years. After tomorrow, I sincerely hope he can just go shoot some hoops and plan his January 2013 move to Hawaii.

  15. Neo, I was going to say that was the best sarcastic post ever – then I just read BelleGunness’s comment about the first Lady Michelle.

The Republicans made Obama nasty?! Michelle has grace . . always with a kind smile and an encouraging word?! – OMG, you all have me in stitches!

  16. Not that I’m saying anything that everyone here hasn’t already figured out, but what a total crock of horse***t. He knew he couldn’t run on his record that sucked, so his strategy all along has been to energize his left-wing base while trying to demonize Romney. That’s why the first debate was the turning point, because it wiped out the “demonize Romney” part of the equation. And in trying to turn out his left-wing base he has probably been at least as successful in energizing the Republican right-wing base which started out skeptical of Romney but is now willing to crawl over “ground glass” (as Glenn Reynolds says) to kick Obama’s butt out of the White House.

  17. “… realize that Obama’s greatest asset is the grace and beauty his wife consistently displays..”

I offer, one time only and at reduced cost, a bridge of your choosing across Big Muddy from Minnesota to Louisiana, for $100,000 plus tax. Decided quickly because the tax rate will increase dramatically come 1/1/13.

  18. Well, I voted! It’s raining, I got there early – stood in line for ten minutes before voting began – and was out of there by 7:35. A busy election day!

Hoping “The One” gets bounced in historic numbers. Praying for that, too!

    Have a great day!

  19. Because it works!
    And he keeps proving it!
(And he has the protection of the MSM who will never let anyone call him on it)
    Unlike his opposition.
