The Twitter button — 7 Comments

  1. Why don’t you like the way it looks? It’s fine, pretty out of the way, actually. And now we can talk about you on twitter without you knowing what we’re saying! (Kidding, of course. 😉

  2. Book: I don’t like it because it’s cluttered (I like cleaner lines in the blog), but I especially don’t like the way the color goes with the rest of the colors in the blog. I’m particularly sensitive to color, and I chose the colors in the blog (including the photo) to be harmonious with each other. The blue does not go with the rest!

This bothers me more than it bothers most readers—I hope, anyway.

  3. I guess you have to move with the times Neo, but personally I think twitter is an abomination. Of course I feel pretty much the same about facebook.

They have their value, but people cannot resist the temptation to tell the world more than it needs to know.

I also–although you may not tell from my posts–like organized thoughts, put together in constructed sentences.

Yes, I am an old curmudgeon. But, I am not completely out of touch with technology. I used GPS for instance before it became endemic (thanks to the USN), and was programming computers by entering zeroes and ones in lighted registers back when most folks had never actually seen one. I hope that these social media innovations are a fad that will have their time and disappear. Not holding my breath; and the next development could, probably will, be worse.

  4. Oldflyer says it nicely, except one doesn’t have to move with the times on all aspects, particularly those of the back-fence gossip or giggly juvenile.

  5. Neo – I agree. The blue stands out too much. I assume we can all adjust to it and eventually, not even see it.

Please no Facebook button. I detest Facebook and the fact that so many people I know, friends and family, rely on Facebook to notify everyone of everything. No more need for phone calls, invitations, or even emails. Just check Facebook.

  6. It’s ugly. I felt a visceral reaction to it’s interruption of the sheng fooey immediately for the reasons you described.
If I want to share your post on (FB and have) I just copy and paste the URL.
