Obama’s looking more and more like… — 41 Comments

  1. Romney himself didn’t do a reply, but “American Crossroads” PAC is out with an “Instant replay” ad that is very pointed.

  2. Quick typo alert: I’ll bet you meant “deer in the headlights,” not “deer in the highlights.”

  3. What examples did he use, neocon?

Other than firefighting, road building did he mention in his speech? What business did he use as an example of what he meant.

“GI Bill, Golden Gate Bridge, Hoover Dam, man to the moon”

    Yes, he used those.

    Where’s the business example? Huh?

Make a statement, then use examples. So, show the examples of the “business” he was talking about from the text.

“great teacher” yes he used that.

You need to support your assertion with the examples of some business. Even just one, from the text.

  4. “You didn’t build that” is an expansion of his “spread the wealth” remark to Joe the Plumber in 2008. Same Barack H. Obama spouting the same leftist economics.

Four years hasn’t taught him a thing. Hopefully the voters have wised up, enough of them anyway.

  5. Sorry, Boogity, it is plainly obvious that Obama and Warren both consider businesses to be parasitical ingrates. It’s an argument as old as “the workers should own the means of production,” of which the President’s argument is a “nuanced,” thinly-disguised version. And yes, I can indeed read all that into just a few of the President’s words. It comes from long practice of listening to such arguments.

  6. Boogity: what are you talking about??? I never say he used examples of businesses his speech. I wrote [emphasis mine]:

Note also that in this ad, Obama claims that in his original speech on small business, “What I said was that we need to stand behind them, as American always has.” Note also that he doesn’t show a clip of himself saying that, and that’s because there isn’t one; he never said those words.

He’s also setting up a false dichotomy, because there would have been no contradiction between him saying “you didn’t build that” to small business owners and also saying, “so we need to stand behind you and help you”–if indeed that had been what he was saying. But it’s not what he was saying, at least according to every ounce of evidence we have about what he did say.

I have a longer post in which I go into what he actually did say about roads and bridges, and the internet, and why he was incorrect even about those things.

  7. Nothing new here on Obama’s part.

“The great masses will more easily fall victim to a big lie than to a small one” Adolf Hitler

What is new, at least to degree of commitment is the culpability of the MSM aka American Pravda in actively supporting “The Big Lie” both in the 2008 and 2012 elections.

If Obama wins, the MSM will be directly responsible for the continued destruction and transformation of America into Amerika…

  8. Now folks, let’s just us talk, folk like, cause us folks are good folks and we trust each other, us folk.

  9. It’s a very non-scientific clue but Yahoo comments are overwhelming showing a conclusion that Obama’s meaning was anti-success.

Comment: 397 for and 56 against (at this current point in time):

“We don’t hate you because of your skin color. We hate you because you’re a smug, vile, fraudulent, divisive, destructive, un-American, anti-American, narcissistic, self-serving, lying POS.”

And this is Yahoo, which is not exactly a conservative think tank.

  10. Neo: who tells us “who are you going to believe, me and my shills in the MSM or your lying ears?”

Proof! Establishment media is controlled by Democrat operatives

    http://www.familysecuritymatters.org/publications/detail/proof-establishment-media-controlled?f=must_reads

It shows that most – not some – members of the print media establishment with access to the White House submit their copy to government officials for review, “correction” and approval before it reaches the American people!

    and

“The quotations come back redacted, stripped of colorful metaphors, colloquial language and anything even mildly provocative.”

“They are sent by e-mail from the Obama headquarters in Chicago to reporters who have interviewed campaign officials under one major condition: the press office has veto power over what statements can be quoted and attributed by name.”

“Most reporters, desperate to pick the brains of the president’s top strategists, grudgingly agree. After the interviews, they review their notes, check their tape recorders and send in the juiciest sound bites for review. The verdict from the campaign – an operation that prides itself on staying consistently on script – is often no, Barack Obama does not approve this message.”

i think a long time ago i wrote something about access… i think it was during the paris hilton arguments…

  11. Unless he’s planning to declare martial law and suspend the election, BHO is returning to sweet home Chicago. Yes, the moonbat base and the tattooed for life progressive dems will vote for him but there will be less enthusiasm and thus less turn out…. particularly among the under 30 crowd. The important thing is that he’s lost the majority of ‘independents’ who voted for him in 2008 and completely energized the opposition. Anyone but Obama will win in November. This is shaping up to be a electoral college victory. BHO must do something desperate and drastic to turn this around. I don’t think his handlers will allow that.

NSA whistleblowers: Government spying on every single American
    http://rt.com/usa/news/nsa-whistleblower-binney-drake-978/

Testimonies delivered in recent weeks by former employees of the National Security Agency suggest that the US government is granting itself surveillance powers far beyond what most Americans consider the proper role of the federal government.

When you open up the Pandora’s Box of just getting access to incredible amounts of data, for people that have no reason to be put under suspicion, no reason to have done anything wrong, and just collect all that for potential future use or even current use, it opens up a real danger – and to what else what they could use that data for, particularly when it’s all being hidden behind the mantle of national security,” Drake said.

Domestically, they’re pulling together all the data about virtually every U.S. citizen in the country and assembling that information, building communities that you have relationships with, and knowledge about you; what your activities are; what you’re doing. So the government is accumulating that kind of information about every individual person and it’s a very dangerous process,” Binney former NSA Technical Director said.

Obama is announcing his election-year initiative Wednesday night in a speech to the civil rights group the National Urban League as he seeks to rally black voters. Aides say his executive order, to be signed Thursday, will set a goal of producing “a more effective continuum” of programs for African-American students.

    Executive Orders and National Emergencies
How Presidents Have Come to “Run the
Country” by Usurping Legislative Power (1999)

    yale law journal?
    http://yalelawjournal.org/the-yale-law-journal/essay/executive-branch-usurpation-of-power:-corporations-and-capital-markets/

Agencies in the executive branch are better situated than other political institutions to take advantage of opportunities to expand their power base by responding quickly and decisively to real or imagined crises.
The executive has structural advantages over the other branches because it can respond faster to perceived emergencies. Congress is hampered more than the executive by gridlock caused by special-interest group pressures when it tries to act quickly.
The legislative process is also inherently slower than the executive process because the executive can launch into unilateral action, as by filing a lawsuit.
The executive’s structural advantage over the judiciary is even more complete than its advantage over Congress because the judiciary has no power to initiate action. Executive action, particularly that of agencies, determines the course of law.
This Essay argues that the ascendancy of the executive branch in policymaking is an unintended consequence of the modern administrative state.

  14. “NSA whistleblowers: Government spying on every single American”

Oh sheeee-it, they have been spying on us for decades. Tuck Fhem. Spy all they want we are many millions strong. They ain’t got enough numbers to come and get us. What are they going to do, wage total war on the bread basket known as the Midwest? Not even remotely likely. And, I don’t think they want a final show down because as arrogant as they are they know we got the numbers and too many of their legions will side with us should push come to shove.

But it will not come to that. We achieve a small victory in November and gradually take back American the beautiful. It will take a decade. That is the game plan as far as I’m concerned.

  15. He’s out of his mind. Have to vent. Interestingly, this whole lefty vibe has really permeated the culture at large. I just moved into a heavily liberal affluent neighborhood and was just approached by my neighborhood association at the annual block party. I thought they were going to ask me if I wanted to join the Book Club or something normal. Instead they asked me to donate part of my front yard for a neighborhood “lending library” which is apparently all the rage now. I do indeed have a great centrally located front yard with a half circle driveway, and it would be “just perfect” for the structure they want to build that says “Neighborhood Lending Library” and then the neighbors can all hang out in my front yard and donate their crap, and look through everyone else’s crap in this “structure” and drive through my half circle driveway and get back onto the road. It would be so easy for everyone to get to it, and to know the new “neighborhood lending library” is in operation because of the high visibility of my property. My front yard. Oh joy. I have lived there all of one month.

I am apparently just supposed to donate my front yard and driveway to the neighborhood collective for the Common Good. Because I have the best front yard and it is selfish of me to keep it for myself.

The fact that they think this is an appropriate request of someone who has just bought a house and has lived in the neighborhood for four weeks blows my mind. But it is just the kind of mentality that is going on now. Who knows, perhaps next year they won’t ask. The government will just seize my beautiful front yard because it would be so much better for everyone if they could all use it. We got get this Obama guy Out of Office!

  16. Julia NYC,

Turn your front yard into a vegetable garden and erect a sign that says, “Anyone apprehended stealing my vegetables will be shot.”

    Problem solved.

“We got get this Obama guy Out of Office!” Consider it done….. they can not produce enough fraudulent votes to keep BHO in the Oval Office. I predict a landslide. In the privacy of the voting booth, no one is a racist.

  17. All right, Julia, you can keep your freakin front yard but we want a shitload of your money for keepin it, bitch.

  18. LOL @ Julia! Neighborhood lending library? .

I swear to G-d i think progressives long for the Christian nation they’ve all but destroyed. But without all that mushy Jesus stuff and discriminating adults judging which neighbors were neighborly and which ones couldn’t be lent a spatula for fear of never getting it back.

  19. Julia: if you permitted the “neighborhood lending library” on your property, seven will get you eleven that the structure would get your property taxes raised.

Neighborhood lending library: a local coop grocery has a box outside for book drops.

  20. “They want to give something back”…

Really? What is stopping them? If they WANT to give, then they can do that. Nothing — and I do mean NOTHING — is stopping them.

This isn’t about WANTING to give anything back.

This is about DEMANDING that they give something back.

This is about TAKING what The One wants back.

It’s got nothing to do with “wanting” to give back.

    Not a whit.

  21. “I’m not going to see us gut the investments government handouts that grow our economy my campaign support base

A few typos in the original speech. I think that fixes them.

So… Obama is claiming he’s looking to CUT the Federal budget by more than HALF?

Yes, Boy King, you are in ALL our business. GT*O, Mr.Messiah. You and your minions are making it many times more difficult for an American entrepreneur to start a business, much less keep it. Your overweening-controlling bureaucrats, hall monitors, inspectors, pencil pushers and Searchers for Flyshit in the Bottom of the Sugar Bowl are making it close to impossible. Gazzillions more regulations than just 4-years ago. Rules-Regs-Controls, I would add, watched over & dreamed up by clueless folks who’ve never been in business.

    AN EXPOSURE OF POWER POLITICS

    A. K. CHESTERTON

This book is dedicated to my colleagues
    and to the true patriots
    of every land.
    A.K.C.

They have given us into the hand of new unhappy lords,
Lords without anger and honour, who dare not carry their
    swords.
They fight by shuffling papers; they have bright dead alien
    eyes;
They look at our labour and laughter as a tired man looks
    at flies.
And the load of their loveless pity is worse than the ancient
    wrongs,
Their doors are shut in the evening; and they know no
    songs.
    G. K . CHESTERTON,
    “The Secret People”.

As a conspiracy by its very nature is secret, it is not often possible to bring against it a direct case, as distinct from a case based on circumstantial evidence.

When a conspiracy has been active for many years, however, there are bound to be occasions when it reveals its existence, and these self-exposures have to be used as pointers to its overall plan.

What provides the main proof is that, the policy objective having become known, there has been continuity of the policy pursued to achieve it in one country after another, with no turning aside during the course of several decades.

Its like playing a craps game with loaded dice.

You cant take the dice and smash them and ascertain the facts… to do so would cause as much chaos as the fixed game does, but also to fair games. no?

so this is what stops us from acting…
and the conspiracy theorist cultural skull on the stick, prevents us from concluding the dice are loaded.

in fact. that is EXACTLY what our egos are doing in terms of feminism, and these other groups… it is so conditioned into us, that we cant accept it even when its in the open and spit out freely during speeches.

take sanger, and the eugenics people and the idea that planned parenthood is not eugenics. same people, same ideology, same stated goals, all their “advice” leads to genocide if followed equally by every demographic, and so on.

but since we cant crack open the dice
we have to sit and keep playing the tame till we are bankrupt of everything. not just our money, but our freedom, culture, food, religions, education, entertainment..

the authors writings, this being a screed against big money world finance and control through that (funny, eh?), and from the right not the left… builds a case that is partially right, partially wrong, and scary to accept.

    imagine…
we are conditioned to believe that Obama and Rahm and his Czars dont work together outside our view to achieve their won ends which are the ends of their fealty.

imagine that… people working together and not printing out meeting minutes for the world to read, and we just cant believe they do that, and coordinate things to their own ends.

    i mean really.

which is easier to believe… manipulative people with no morals and power hunger willing to collude together to win…

or.. manipulative people with no morals and power hunger NEVER EVER EVER willing to collude together to win, as that would be bad.

since the 60s, our society has believed the second thing… which is why we forget every violation of it. we HAVE to to preserve the believe. call it confirmational bias on steroids
    [edited for length by n-n]

  27. Why history repeats?

While George Santayana is credited with this, it’s been said more than once and by others in similar form. But truly, WHAT do they mean by it? What are they supposed to learn?

Is the concept really so revelatory to imagine that making the same mistakes over and over and expecting something else, as Einstein said, is a form of insanity (and not the only one), sufficient?

What are we supposed to learn? What are you supposed to focus on?
Why or what prevents us from learning it, and why do we forget and have to?

Telling us in fancy words that we repeat the mistakes we do not learn from, is not very informative, despite sounding like there is an epiphany there.

It took me a whole lot of thinking to realize what it is we HAVE to learn, or be doomed

what we have to learn and have to remember are the Bad Ideas that are seen by the inexperienced, to be good. (and what is seen as first bad, that is really good)

What we do is do-good things…, which is why; you defeat the masses with perverting goodness.

The comment is not about the obvious bad we see that we know is bad, and IS bad, and so we avoid and its not much of a problem… and it’s not about the obvious good we see that is good and is not a problem.

Its about the essence of why we stumble and fall into traps and avoid rescue and better ends.

You stumble into a trap because you believe it to be something other than what it is.
What you thought was good, was bad. The reason we don’t grasp the solution is that what you thought was bad, that is good, prevents you from it.

The boiling down to essences, removes the distracting trappings.

Why did the Germans that as a whole are mostly good, as each population is…
(Being bad as a population is counter to survival compared to others), end up with Hitler?

Because something bad presented itself as good, and once seen as good, the trap is set.

And just as you can get someone to step into a hole once you make it look like there is no hole and the land is sound.. you can make someone avoid a rescue or improvement or fix, by making it look like a dangerous hole

So feminism purports to be good, but is bad, VERY bad… you have to look under the gilded covering to see, to know who they are, what their goals are, what they think of you, and so on.

This is why they are called FRONTS.

The front shows goodness or beneficence so you eat the poison…

If it was not for them, then how you and everyone in would this society tasted of such things.

Of course, women can say that not all are feminist but this is irrelevant as they are not a collective that exist, they are a mass of unconnected individuals who the feminists take credit for as there is no one coordinated to stop. So you may believe that you’re not part of it, but without any other island in this ocean, you’re a part of it. There is no such thing as a woman who is not feminist because they have been made equivalent, which is why the missive from the defensive has no meaning but to the person who is defending their belief to someone else, who is supposed to nod and say, oh, ok.

So, for society to move forwards it has to note that which seems good that is bad…

Socialisms greatness for the leaders who want total power is that it’s the perfect social trap. It’s a very bad thing that has the appearance of being good. It will always appear that way, and so we just have to learn that it’s bad.

We are like the dodo… (When we act like this)

We refuse to see the humans grabbing and eating us as bad because we refuse to see the whole, and can excuse each piece separately

But if we fail to identify the bad that appears as good… we will die out…

Also… if we fail to identify the good that appears bad, we will die out.

An example? Beneficent life aligned religion, the family, marriage, etc

Ie… everything the bad that looks good tells you is bad (so that you continue with the idea that what is bad is good and what is good is bad)…

And so, as hegel explains a different way, you get them to reverse course and regress backwards… as you untie and unravel the cultural knowledge that we developed and survived under.

If you think of progress as the learning of the bad that looks good and avoiding it, and the good that looks bad and embracing it (even if you don’t understand why…), then you unravel progress by inverting it. progress becomes promoting regress…
We will lose because we will not embrace what is bad now, that was good, and is good
And will not spit out what we are told is good and seems so at a glance, but is bad.

This is why certain views and stories resonate. They resonate because there we are allowed to think normally,… we can watch the chronicles of Narnia and we see how the belief created by another is what is used to control ourselves once we stop asking and stop thinking and start accepting blindly.

It is ALSO important to learn the abstract lessons of these prior authors, as they all converge on a commonality. The bad side offers nothings that appear as somethings. They are so greedy they wont even let you have a tiny something to get you to swallow a bigger something.

They are sociopathic, cargo cult, and you can refer to Shakespeare, and the bible, and cs lewis, and lewis carrol, and on and on for tons of western koan examples rather than dry discourse which is what I do. (but be careful that you forget that these are lessons drapped in entertainment, not entertainment wihout meaning other than masturbation)

  28. Julia,
Are these wealthy people too cheap to buy their own books and support starving writers like Obama? Wouldn’t they be better off supporting a book program for poor schools? On the other hand, maybe Fifty Shades of Grey isn’t suitable for kids.

  29. Reminds me of some old soviet jokes
except that NOW they make more sense!

Question: “Will people have money when communism is built?”
Answer: “Some will, some will not.”

Question: “Is it possible to build communism in America?”
Answer: “It’s possible, but who will we buy grain from?”

Severe Drought Seen as Driving Cost of Food Up
    http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/26/business/food-prices-to-rise-in-wake-of-severe-drought.html

Question: “When the final phase of socialism, namely communism, is
built, will there still be thefts and pilfering?”
Answer: “No, because everything will be already pilfered during socialism.”

Question:“What is the most permanent feature of our socialist economy?”
    Answer:“Temporary shortages.”

Question:“What will be the results of the next elections?”
Answer:“Nobody can tell.” Somebody has stolen yesterday the exact results of the next elections from the office of the Central Committee..

Question:“We are told that the communism is already seen at the horizon.” Then, what is a horizon?”
Answer:“Horizon is an imaginary line which moves away each time you approach it.”

Question:“What to do if a man you don’t know takes a seat at your table in a pub and starts to sigh?”
Answer:“Immediately demand to stop the anti-Soviet propaganda.”

    Lastly

“Why Lenin wore regular shoes, but Stalin wore boots?”

“At Lenin’s time, Russia was still only ankle-high in shit.”

  30. Parker @925pm:
“BHO must do something desperate and drastic to turn this around. I don’t think his handlers will allow that.”
Never underestimate an enemy, Parker. Remember the Battle of the Bulge?

Bad things are coming. We know when- later this year, perhaps between Thanksgiving and Christmas during the lame duck session- but not what sort of a desperate breakout it will be.
This is a battle, not an election. And if-I say if- we win, we must put them in chains. It will not be business as usual for us if we lose, and it should be the same for them if they lose.

  31. Folks, the commenters and bloggers on the web have an above average awareness, but they (we) are not going to decide this election so it really does not matter what Obama says. More likely it will be the people whose world view consists of I want it all now types, or those who still think Obama is awesome or a few who think they are voting for JFK against the McCarthyists. That anyone could think of voting for someone like in Obama in 2008 let alone 2012 indicates there is someone very wrong with the electorate in this country. We should not be surprised if Obama wins the electoral vote, especially since a close race will give the opportunity to pull several Al Franken type recounts.
