Tomorrow…
…is the Scott Walker recall election in Wisconsin.
Should be interesting. Here’s a roundup, including some new polls (valid or not).
And I wonder: do you agree with me that there seems to be a slight lull in the presidential election battles?
The calm before the storm.
Obama and Romney are still out there seeking donations and giving speeches. However, BHO has had a rough time recently and Romney has been doing well on the campaign trail; so I think the MSM is pulling back coverage on purpose.
I hope Walker wins and wins big, by 5% or more. That will really shake up team Obama, congressional democrats, and the MSM.
“Wind is changing!”
– By Ghan-buri-ghan [a very minor character in Tolkien’s LOTR; The Return of the King, at p 133] while guiding the Rohirrim as they ride in mass to the aid of MinasTirith.
I have no idea why that obscure line popped into my head* but still, it feels somehow right….
* Maybe it’s because I saw someone somewhere call Madison/ Dane County “the Mordor of Wisconsin”?
Carl, I saw someone quote that exact line just about three or four days ago. I don’t know where but it was a blog comment somewhere. Was that you, too?
Wasn’t me. Guess that just goes to show that that there really is nothing new under the sun.
Or maybe something”s been blowing in the wind..
. .. I’d better stop right there, before someone calls the cliche cops!
This Badger will be getting off work at 7:00 AM, and going directly to the City Hall to vote for Walker!
WoooHooo Scott the badger
I am with you in spirit !!!!

@kcom- it was someone on Ace’s blog, I believe. It was a regular article
There’s a lull that will get bigger.
No one pays attention to politics during the summer. We’ll see some wild fluctuations in the polling during the next three months, but they’ll settle down to the May averages as soon as Labor Day hits. That’s when the campaigning begins in earnest.
I think even if unemployment rises this summer, the polls will all go back to the May averages despite the obvious toll that should take on Obama. Nobody pays attention to much of anything in the summer.
