The burning question of the day… — 12 Comments

  1. I will continue to wear white shorts after Labor Day, as the temperature is still pretty high.

  2. “She points to the stunning white gown worn by first lady Michelle Obama at the inaugural balls in 2009.”

HUH?? This simply cannot be referring to the toilet paper monstrosity she showed up in….can it? And for what it is worth my Granny positively drilled into my being absolutely no white after Labor Day. 60 years later I still won’t wear it ‘out of season’. 🙂

  3. Nor will I. Granny also said, “Purple is only worn by prostitutes.”

No white for me after Labor Day but I do love me some purple. Granny wasn’t always right.

  4. LOL! How did we share a Granny and not realized it? Purple is another color I have never been ‘comfortable’ wearing for the exact reason you cited. Old habits die hard. 🙂

  5. Last two weeks “Titanic” of AGW suffered two holes below waterline. First, an article in “Nature” by 60 scientists from 17 countries reporting results of CERN experiment CLOUD basically rehabilitating Danish heresy about role of cosmic rays in seeding clouds. This explains climate change by variation of solar activity, for which nobody on Earth is responsible. And second, Roy Spenser analysis of remote measurement of radiation balance in atmosphere, which made claims of CO2 greenhouse effect hardly believable.

  6. “Purple is only worn by prostitutes.”

Heh. Purple is the color of kings.

  7. I guess Granny was right!

(She didn’t use the term “prostitutes.” She used some euphemism that I didn’t even understand for a few years. I wish I could remember what it was.

My granny was southern and called em floozies and hussies. I know because she refered to my first wife as both. 🙂
