RIP Phoebe Snow
Phoebe Snow has died.
For those of you who might not be familiar with her, she was a young phenom in the 70s, a singer/songwriter with a uniquely bluesy style. Her life was not an easy one; a hydrocephalic daughter and a divorce took a huge toll on her career, and after the beloved daughter to whom she was dedicated died in 2007, one wonders if Snow lost some of the spark that had animated her own life.
But man, what a singer she was (the tape’s from 1989):
[NOTE: Snow got her stage name from another Phoebe.]
Phoebe had a beautiful voice and was apparently a wonderful mother too. God bless her.
I never knew what she looked like. Love the voice.
WOW. Thanks for the tip. I look forward to more investigation. Powerline recently offered a Carrie Underwood performance that was AWESOME. Last night’s American Idols were superb. The different styles and the young fresh voices:

ever notice how many of these actors following the progressive ideal of putting off birth have children with problems…
take some time and do some looking..
this is why so many of them now adopt..
its getting hard to hide the medical fact that they are delivering to the innocents.. which results in their failure in the bigger picture
Artfldgr: Snow was 25 years old when she gave birth to her daughter.
that doesnt change my point…
especially if you realize that biologically perimenopause starts near that time…
be careful where you get your source on this one when checking it out… as the feminists castigated the researchers who put out the age they didnt like that didnt fit the goals of their leaders
how do i know… eidetic memory..
Study Shows Fertility Decline Begins in Late 20s
http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=study-shows-fertility-dec
Would be nice if women were told the truth. no? but if your goal is extermination through other means less overt, then giving the wrong end date does that… and that poor woman blames herself and tears herself up inside if she wanted one. what about the couples? think that they stay together after they miss it? how many more angles can i point out? 🙂
here is what you are generally told:
from sciam:
Perhaps the most important thing for anxious would-be parents to remember is that fertility varies greatly from person to person. “Epidemiological studies have identified some of the factors associated with variability, including prenatal exposures, sexually transmitted disease history, smoking and occupational exposures,” Dunson says, “but much of this heterogeneity remains unexplained.”
do you think that when you hit a date your quality suddenly dives? or more likely the reason we have a programmed infertility is that populations that had fertility decline in conjunction with quality decline, were more fit than other mixes for populations.
ie… nature makes man infertile because mans body by that time has taken in too much of the world to have children as viable as in your prime… (when your about 14-16)
note early onset of menses is caused by blood father absence. but they are trying desperately to pin it on plastic pollution. the point is obvious… if the protective male is not there, the mother may kill the child, or her new mate… so there is a bias towards a faster maturity to change the time when the girl becomes a woman who is fertile. or if you like, the early onset is the norm, but father presence adaptation extends childhood and the educational period (and intelligence) of the woman, in exchange for the protections.
odd thing… if you actually take the time to look at the points that they take up with the innocent public, you will note that they dont miss a trick. that is from father absence, to other things, EVERY point almost without exception (i am assuming there is one somewhere), leads to some negative for the persons adopting the advice.
like a mind net they cast into the masses, they fish out from the gene pool a percentage. it may not seem as efficient as an oven, but over time, the bias not opposed will skew the random walk to a single finite conclusion that cant be avoided as the whole of the journey is not perceived.
from england:
Do you know where the name comes from?
“Phoebe Snow, dressed in White, rides the road of anthracite.” A 1930’s advertisement for clean coal in steam locomotives pulling passenger trains.
RIP Phoebe.
F: the link’s in the “NOTE” after the video.
She was OK. She had a sound that utilized a lot of the new tech music capabilities. Nothing to call your friends and dragoon them down to hear her. Shame her life wasn’t as perfect as everyone else’s is.

Another musician from the days of my youth dead. I’m starting to feel like a soul survivor.
Loved Phobe Snow! As Rick Z said, she was anotheer of the wonderful musicians from my youth, and hearing her voice would transport me to happy memories.
Just bought a new car & it came w/ 1-yr trial of Sirius radio. (Sure, once they hook you, you’re hooked for life — especially live if you live in mountain area like me where traditional radio signals are hissy/crackly at best, and come in and out as you turn on curves on mountain.
My point in saying this was that it has a wonderful station called “Bridge” that brings back all songs from my youthful days it’s both mesmerizing and it brings back certain ties and a serenity (I have an almost photogaphic memory so I actually see situations when I was heaing certain songs. Of course, the mind has a wonderful sieve, and brings back the good times while allowing most of the less pleasant moments to recede.

My eyes are not what they used to be — I didn’t even see the link, which has the history so much better than mine! F
A Unique Voice, gone but never to be forgotten. She will live on through the legend that is her music.
As she hoped, it’ll never be ‘All Over’!
Her devoted fanbase keeps her memory and timeless heartfelt expression alive through continued playing of her music.
