Wow indeed. It’s as though some surveyor was asked to come to a castle but could never find his way in.
Some more on the subject:
(JTA) — An Israeli court ruled that papers belonging to writer Franz Kafka, possibly including an unpublished manuscript, will be made public for the first time.
from the Guardian
“It’s excellent news that a judge in the Tel Aviv family court has ruled that a detailed list of all the items in safe deposit boxes in Tel Aviv and Zurich containing the papers of Franz Kafka must be published. Two elderly sisters living in Israel who inherited the papers in 2008 from their mother, Esther Hoffe, the secretary of Kafka’s close friend Max Brod, had tried to prevent details of the material being made public on the grounds that it would compromise their “property, assets, rights, privacy and human dignity”.
metamorphosis…
Take a Tao statement from long ago, change the species, write a story, and have socialists raise you up as really important, because they are ignorant of Chuang Tzu…
“I dreamed I was a butterfly, flitting around in the sky; then I awoke. Now I wonder: Am I a man who dreamt of being a butterfly, or am I a butterfly dreaming that I am a man?”
butterfly… too sweet… lets make it a cockroach… we know no one else reads obscure tracts in other languages.
of course the funnier thing is seeing some ny people and paper celebrate a new piece of art at Rockefeller, a pole to the sky…. with people on it… the fact its a copy of a soviet piece just means everyone celebrates it as new…
interesting thing about when you read alot across tons of tracts and memorize so much.
you see who copied, cheated, or used… (the difference is in whether they let you know, or how it appears)
for instance, pink floyd put a line in a song which is a paraphrase “hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way”. it doenst make the song, so its used for fun.. the kids dont get it, to them everything at birth always was here… and they have all the answers.
by the way.. i got in a lot of trouble in school with a teacher when i was a kid as i mentioned Chuang Tzu when she tried to teach about kafka…
she argued kafka did it first!!!!!
of course the fact that Chuang was born around 400 bc makes this kind of a temporal problem.
had one of those days today…
“We cling to our own point of view, as though everything depended on it. Yet our opinions have no permanence; like autumn and winter, they gradually pass away.”
“Great wisdom is generous; petty wisdom is contentious.”
“Men honor what lies within the sphere of their knowledge, but do not realize how dependent they are on what lies beyond it”
“Those who seek to satisfy the mind of man by hampering it with ceremonies and music and affecting charity and devotion have lost their original nature”
“Cherish that which is within you, and shut off that which is without; for much knowledge is a curse” (tell me about it)
“Rewards and punishment is the lowest form of education.”
I’m going to have to sue claiming that these manuscripts and letters should have been burnt long ago.
You are a {something. Any denial that you are {something} proves you are a {something}.
Cool. I recall reading The Metamorphosis in college and wondering what drugs he was using.
Oh…and I can’t help this…it’s a pet peeve. These were found in a SAFE deposit box, not a SAFETY deposit box.
From the last (to minute) published comment fromt eh linked article:
“Ah, well, stay tuned for more actions by organ of the Jewish State, which crushes Palestinians not too differently than pre-WWII Nazi Germany crushed Jews, decides what is just (or, at least, to which victor will accrue the spoils of poor little Kafka’s unpublished works…”
by someone called Shivananda.
Investigations of a Dog is an ideal metaphor for what many of us felt like after the election. Outcasts from a fantasy. Its though we were put on TRIAL because we had Metamorphosed into some Giant Insect by not buying into the collective and popular hallucination. Someday we will be able to Report this all to an academy and then just settle back like some Country doctor. That’s assuming the economy improves and we don’t become Hunger artists needing to sit behind an equivalent of the Great wall of china for our security.
Tatyana, how ya been? Re: Shivananda There are always those who look anywhere to escape their emptiness, even toilets. Here is little something I wish I could send them:
“I recall reading The Metamorphosis in college and wondering what drugs he was using.”
He needed not any drugs to be crazy, he was born this way. He was a clinically ill neurotic, with obsessive paranoid fears. The state he described in his prose had no real-word examples, at least in his life time. Prague in which he lived was a very liberal, culturally diverse and tolerant city. His nightmares becomed so famous by historical accident of turning into reality years after his death, other way we hardly ever remembered them.
Hi, Bob
I’m sure this video will be lost on people like Shivananda. Or even achieve the opposite of its intention – even more hatred towards Jews – you know, the type physically massive but stupid school bully feels towards an A+ student in spectacles.
[how am I been? today’s my birthday…so not too great]
Tatyana: Happy birthday. Hope it gets more great.
Oh, Neo – today’s number is depressing, and it will only get more so with every passing year.
Thank you.
Tatyana, another comparison would be the hate the class loser feels towards another outcast whose an A+ student & star athlete and could care less about the opinions and friendship of the rest of the class.
Happy Birthday as well. Birthdays aren’t so bad in light of the alternative. IMHO the trick is to avoid maturity, for instance for the last several months I have been learning to ride a horse (or rather to engage in telepathic communication with a horse so he won’t kill me when I try to ride him). When I was living in the NYC area I would go swimming at a beach I am not sure Neo would appreciate me advertising. A co-worker builds and flies his own airplanes. There must be millions of ways of becoming an embarrassment to one’s family and friends that we can take advantage of.
So again Happy Birthday!
Bob – if only Israel was in a position to not care about opinions of others! Even that video demonstrate that it is not so, unfortunately – what other country would feel compelled to defend itself by siting their achievements?!
Thanks, Bob. I’m already an expert in embarrassing my son: he works -I can’t find a job. If I add to that riding a horse or swimming with [NY] sharks, I’m afraid he’ll start pretending in public he doesn’t know me.
Tatyana
What is your field?
I’m an architectural interior designer, commercial applications
do you think you would be interested in a copy editor-page designor position at a newspaper?
Thank you, Bob, but no. I know very little about graphic design.
[Neo, sorry for this offtop!]

The last line of this commercial is the best.
