We are all going to get the world we (collectively) asked for, and we’re not going to like it.
South Korea = Vichy
There are several expat bogs including one free Korea and the marmot’s hole that may be worth reading.
In South Korea, however, the North’s human rights abuses are routinely shrugged off with reference to its supposedly superior nationalist credentials.
Completely true. I saw it.
Most of South Korea sees the North as their long lost family only kept apart by the evil US.
The more hard-line South Koreans secretly admire the North for their discipline and dedication to The True Korean Race.
A good friend of mine who emigrated from Korea to the U.S. thinks that the two Koreas will ultimately get back together if the U.S. simply leaves. I certainly think the U.S. should leave ASAP, but I certainly do not think that North and South will get together anytime soon — that’s just wishful thinking.
Makes me ashamed I am part Korean.
I think that the best thing that America can do is to refuse to help those who refuse to help themselves.
