We have to parse every statement, as we did when Clinton was President. Savannah was not up to the task (which is partially why she was granted access?).

Her best possible follow up: Which means you are losing some sleep over it. Is it appropriate for you to be losing some sleep over this?

Looks like Obama, thru the FDA, may be about to gain more power over the nations food supply. This article I link to below is from the La times. But if the bill talked about here in this article is the one I read details about previously, it is more ominous than it might appear on the surface. I wonder if the industry support this article talks about is from big buisiness, siding with government in order to make it harder for new competition to arise from start ups due to more paper work, regs, etc?

If this is the “food safety” bill that was being discussed a few months back, then every farmer and cattleman would essentially have to register (get a liscence ) from the Federal government in order to farm. It also required regular inspections of all farms that would require a huge number of persons to perform……

Obama is hardly the first politician to define bipartisanship as “the other side does it my way,” but he is raising this almost to an art form.
A question I’ve asked leftist and progressive people is: If Bush were doing the same thing, would you object to it? If you would and you’re not objecting now, does that mean you have no principles other than aggrandizement of your side’s power?
So imagine that McCain had won and he were carrying on the same campaign against MSNBC or CNN? (Actually, it’s hard to imagine McCain doing so and although lefties have already started talking about “Obama Derangement Syndrome” despite bloodcurdling slander directed against him, I don’t recall Bush responding this way.)
But if a Republican president were slamming MSNBC in the same way, we would see nothing in the media but that it’s an assault on freedom of the press and our very way of life.
And in fact I don’t think the left does have any principles except that which add to its power and to its intense and overweening self-regard.
Hell, he’s even defining “unity” as “doing it my way” for his own freaking party. That’s the whole point of the clip. I’m sure that’ll improve his popularity with the wavering Democrats he’s trying to target here.

Obama has sent out a number of highly placed staff members to attack Fox News. He wouldn’t be doing that if Fox News wasn’t eating his lunch.

the geithner stuff is even more interesting. peter geithner was in charge of the Asia program at Ford Foundation… he oversaw the microloan programs that obamas mother was working on in indonesia.

What would he have done had he gotten an encouraging response from the other media?
What, ultimately, is Obama willing to do to stop Fox New from speaking in opposition?

It must be said. Rahm Emanual is an immature putz. He is either the author of this attack on FOX or a strong supporter. Unless Obama is willing to continue to follow his advice, which will continue to erode Obama’s poll numbers, there will come a time when Emanual will be thrown under the bus, probably along with his accolites in the WH. It won’t be pretty because this guy has no graces and will not go silently into the night. What comes after could be even uglier.
So much for claims that this was Obama’s advisers attacking Fox News on his behalf, without his approval.
(Not that I ever believed such nonsense anyway; it’s been clear for some time that President Obama keeps his staff on a very short leash.)
So now he insults Fox News by comparing it to talk radio. Is it even possible that he actually believes this? (How many breaking stories have you heard on talk radio? Fox scooped all its competitors on Van Jones, the ACORN videos, and lots more. Fox is gaining market share hand over fist… and they deserve it, because they’re actually doing the work!)
Okay, here’s a question. How long will it be before a major die-hard lefty journalist says, on the record: “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but we had more press freedom under President Bush.”?
I’d say it could be any time now.
