RIP Tony Snow
Tony Snow has succumbed to colon cancer at 53. His philosophy was to make the most of his remaining time after his diagnosis, and from the looks of it he did.
I enjoyed Snow’s tenure as press secretary, especially after the lackluster and obviously uncomfortable McClellan. He will be missed.
I’m very sad about this. When I heard he’d returned to public life, I thought it was because he was beating this terrible thing. A man of great gifts and sunny disposition…
I feel deeply touched and sad at his leaving us.
This is a sad shock, even though, I knew he had been ill. Rest in peace, Tony. You were one of the “good guys”.
I too thought Tony was one of the few “good guys” in the media today. Why do I get the feeling that there will not be the same amount of coverage for Tony’s passing as was displayed at Tim Russerts news media orgy.
I made the mistake of taking a look at what was being said about him at DailyKosNutjob; what a fetid and festering cesspool of humanity if you can call the majority of posters there human.
Yep, I wrote about that “festering cesspool of [in]humanity”:
“Tony Snow, 1955-2008”

This is secular demonology…
I remember how refreshing the surprise was when Tony Snow took over from McClellan and started doing the job so much better.
Sorry to hear this.
TRUE MEASURE
Author unknown
How long we live is not for us to say.
We may have years ahead, or but a day.
The length of life is not of our control,
But length is not the measure of the soul…
Not length, but width and depth define the span
By which the world takes measure of a man.
It matters not how long before we sleep,
But only how wide is our life…..how deep.
Tony Snow was a man whose life was both wide and deep. He accomplished much in his years with us. And he did it with humor, civility, and a sharp intellect. He faced his cancer with great courage and grace. He was a shining example to us all.
God speed, Tony Snow.
He was a good guy, rip.
