Food for thought
In a piece by Cinque Henderson (an African-American supporter of Hillary Clinton) appearing in TNR, we find the following bit of insider information, which so far as I know has not been pointed out before:
…While [Obama] remained silent about the allegations [that the Clintons were racist during the South Carolina campaign], he gave speeches across South Carolina that warned against being “hoodwinked” and “bamboozled” by the Clintons. His use of the phrase is resonant. It comes from a scene in Malcolm X, where Denzel Washington warns black people about the hidden evils of “the White Man” masquerading as a smiling politician: “Every election year, these politicians are sent up here to pacify us,” he says. “You’ve been hoodwinked. Bamboozled.”
By uttering this famous phrase, Obama told his black audience everything it needed to know. He was helping to convince blacks that the first two-term Democratic president in 50 years, a man referred to as the first black president, is in fact a secret racist. As soon as I heard that Obama had quoted from Malcolm X like this, I knew that Obama would win South Carolina by a massive margin.
This is the sort of thing that has convinced me that Reverend Wright is correct about one thing: that Obama is a politician, first and foremost, and that his grandiose rhetoric to the contrary is just that.
I wonder if Cinque Henderson also knew at that moment that Sen. Obama would lose the national election by a massive margin?
Obama is BLATANTLY cynical. As well as anyone ever, he pulls off the difficult double of being simultaneously cynical and naive (as in his recent comments re Lebanon).
Obama is a CHICAGO politician.
obama is a post turtle..
someones have put him up there
and those someones hope to have a person in their pocket since the only thing holding him up there is not of his making.
historically speaking meteoric risers from nowhere have usually been launched. given his whole life history, he was made to launch by the circumstances of that life.
neo:
what your excellent point is pointing to is the ‘code’ and ‘symbolism’ to which a movement has to rely on to manipulate the end result and acheive the goal.
since their arguments are mostly lies designed to get you to swallow what is really something else in other terms. mushroom smothered steak is nothing but dead hacked burnt cow meat with grease fried mushrooms piled on. planned parenthood is X, or is it part of a leftist set of ideals that amount to soft eugenics and population reduction of the lumpen proletariat?
everyone points to germany to illustrate the use of symbolism… but you can point to the HEAVY symbolism in this election, and yet people actually dont notice it other than commenting on parts.
the left wants the kind of control, and same ends that german socialists created. if you list out the things on the left they mach in separate movements what was part of one movements goals once in power (and consolidated).
there is quite a large group of words that represent the left and its codes. it was their people that said if you capture the language you capture the minds of the people. communication is so critical to how we function that damaging it is as detrimental if not more so than terrorist attacks, and invisable because its in the long term.
here are some, i am sure that sergey and a few others could list out more.
progressive, liberation, peoples, feminist, enlightened, third way, change, revolution, enlightened, etc
and the visual symbols in this election are STAGGERING and yet mostly not noticed or seem as normal.
you watch the left yell like brown shirts… militant while walking with peace signs. how lovely. but peace signs are a rune inverted. one of the key runes that the german socialists used. if you know this, its hard to not see the ignorance. these small symbols on sticks are much like roman battle markers. there are communist fists, anarchist A’s, even pagan symbols forgetting that the germans were creating a pagan volks religion.
the artwork in lots of the places is socialist realism… even up to the practice of over using the images where the candidate of the left (the messianic leader role of hard left leaders).
all this is to work on emotions, not thought. people no longer want to think. bad schooling has made what is easy for an older person, hard for the younger. this forces them to fall back on the emotional argument and emotional imagery, all tied together by codes that let them know who to trust.
you cant reason with them because they have been warned that you will trick them if they listen to you. they know who to trust, by knowing the symbols and knowing that if they display them, they will be more successful.
since your a doc, you can start a small organization or see if there is interest. call one the action comittee for enlightened people, and make another without code words, and see which one can find money through plugging the not for profits to donate (ford funds lots of others that donate down to others. other orgs do the same, there are meta groups that are organizations of organizations. its a scary thing to take a look at)
this is why so many organizations have these words in their titles. the socialists disburse the funds from state, and create the feeling among a percentage that because they believe in god (and put up all gods symbols and preach god), they are favored by god. and thus the left has a religious feel confirmed to it.
so yes, if you find odd words in things, most likely they are references. pink floyd sang hanging on in quiet desperation is the english way, but thoreu was the first to say the original lines. kennedy was not the first to use the ask not phrase, but most wouldnt know that since now they dont teach the canon anymore and take you through it all.
take a look at the negative space of the traliateral commisions symbol. it too is from that same ole country place.
while the symbolism is important, its not at the level that the tin hatters claim.
if there is a line of truth, one side denies pulling people that way… and tin hatters job is to pull you off the line the other way… which is why they get fed stuff… how else does a few people constantly hear things?
so in the case of symbols, the left will deny that che flags and posters and inverted german runes in circles mean nothing.
the tin hatters will then claim that it means everything. that they are all connected to a grand multi millenial order that controls things (though for some reason is also trying to get control too).
between the two is a course that no one will listen to. if they are more left, the middle makes you look like a tin hatter…
if your more right you discount the link between things.
while in the middle you relise that signs and symbols are important, we do respond to them, they do have more power if they are concordent to other past symbols, and that they can tell people what to do or who to support.
the things are right in front of you…
its like they all are signalling to you with a finger to their bent to the side noses, and you dont see it…
the dead fish in a wrapper, the guy dying with no shoes, the eidelweiss in a lapel buttonhole, the purple heart, the flag, the lapel pin, apple pie…
symbols are important… they tell you what someone stands for when they know if they tell the world, the world wont like them. but their fellow freinds will like them and excuse the lies as a end justifies the means necessity to build utopia.

I think this looks hopeful for Obama and the left–a lumpenproletariat ready and able to vote.
you may be right. 🙂
though selective editing creates things like that..
how about this as a sign of the coming apocalypse thanks to lipstick feminism, and equating liberation with sex

One of the children wears sparkly, killer high heels (more pint-size Pussycat Doll than Dorothy from “The Wizard of the Oz”) and another slouches, gangsta gal-style, with a neon pink boa, leopard-skin fedora and stilettos. An even younger model is a toddler-aged Beyoncé Mini-Me with huge hair, skinny jeans, spike-heeled leather boots and attitude to match
at least the new feudal lords of the lumpen will have a bevy of ‘talent’ to pick from the masses as they did in the past.
i guess we are all supposed to be happy at how liberated the children who will wear this will be.
the left has taken our culture so far down with the manipulation of symbols and words and games twisting behavior by twisting perspective through exploiting ignornance…
this is where ideology takes people because ideology doesnt change, or else it would become somthing else (constant incremental change can convert anything into anything else given time)… so it remains true, and the rest all follows as people try to conform the world and the rules and their behavior to it.
all because their desire to be good citizens and have a decent life and do right is exploited.
So much doom and gloom from the happier-than-thou neocons. That’s a laugh, isn’t it?
And what were all the rational, educated conservatives doing while liberals “hijacked” the media, education system and culture? Playing pinochle?
I think conservatives have done well in representing their ideas in each of those venues. The core concepts of limited government and free enterprise are ubiquitous across the media, schools and pop culture.
It seems many conservatives confuse the existence of liberal ideas with their preeminence. Just because the biggest and best newspapers, for example, don’t hew to the same talking points as talkradio and the Fox empire, doesn’t mean the media are liberal.
Artfldgr: I’m sure we both hope it took many interviews to create that assortment.
There was a sixties movie parody of identity-crisised adults called “I Love You Alice B. Toklas,” and, though I can’t recall any particular titles, I think a number of movies parodying parents trying to “join” their kids in the “movement.” In the seventies and eighties, it seemed to me, parents were sacrificing their kids so they could remain kids; the parent role was like a death sentence. Better to “turn on, tune in, drop out.” Now it seems to me, the parents have descended several more steps down the degenerate ladder and are living out sexual fantasies through their children. I can’t imagine that a healthy parent would style a JonBenet Ramsey! How could you possibly want to see your young daughter in that image? Calling such people “stage parents” is a gross euphemism. These days I feel very old.
Dear NNC-
Thank you for cluing me in about the secret code language the blacks use to speak to each other. I suspected as much.
Now, can you tell me who these ‘shorties’ are the rappers are always talking about? Also, ‘fresh’ is good, right?
Now, really! You didn’t need Jeremiah Wright to tell you that. As Wright said, “Barack do what politicians do.”
What’s funny is that when anybody says anything about ol’ Barry somebody hollers RACIST and the offender goes off to be beheaded and the thing is never mentioned again.
What happened to us?
We became a nation of cowards?
we decided that socialism (eventual totalitarianism) was better than freedom…
discriminations coments on the same article as neo

you realize that he’s basing part of his argument over a reenactment from a MOVIE that was released to mainstream (not only black) audiences? besides that, i think he’s ignoring fundamental characteristics of the black church in saying that politics and church are not linked. i’m pretty sure the black church has been a historically a political body and one of the only forums where black people could discuss politics and the main path through which black people leaders have historically come up.
he has a point about black people liking barack because of michelle, but i would argue that if barack was not married to an african-american, he would not be viable at all – not because black people wouldn’t vote for him (they probably wouldn’t) but because i’m pretty sure white people wouldn’t vote for him either. i think if barack were married to a white woman, white people would not view him with as open an eye as they do now. his opponents would have centuries worth of racial anxieties about miscegenation and more general american narratives about black men and white women that his candidacy would flop. look at what happened in tennessee with harold ford and the commercial run against him insinuating that he was in a relationship with a white woman.
correct me if i’m wrong, but i think that the american voting population does not view interracial relationships as wholly positive. i would be hard pressed to find many examples of politicians in these types of marriages that are able to excel on the national level. particularly for politicians that are not white, they have to be post-racial, but still marry one of their own. the example of bobby jindal (new governor of louisiana) comes to mind, even though he is viewed as not completely in tune with mainstream american south asian ideology/mindset, he is married to a fellow south asian.
