Spamming 101 — 4 Comments

  1. My apologies, Neo — I realized, after I had already posted my comment, that I should have read your “commenting guidelines” first. For there I was, essentially feeding a troll. (Sorry, I just couldn’t help myself.)

But my comment had already been posted — as impossible to recall as an angry word, as Heinlein once wrote. I’ll use more discretion next time.

    respectfully,
    Daniel in Brookline

  2. I remember that blogger has a check box for permanent delete. Though I never found out how to undelete comments, from a trash container.

  3. Daniel in Brookline: I’ve decided to become a bit more Dranconian, at least for now, and use my discretion to remove posts that are basically spam and bear no relation to the post in question.

However, it occurs to me that I may have been a bit quick on the trigger this time when I deleted Bob’s comment–I think he may have been being humorous.

But alas, the deleting finger deletes, and having deleted, can’t change what it’s done).

I wonder whether the current influx of problems in the comments section has wreaked havoc on my sense of humor. Hope not!

  4. Interesting, Bob — Neo’s original post, and your comment to it, have only one thing in common. Both you and Neo’s spammer could use a grammar lesson or two.

(Was that the point you were trying to make, by the way?)

    respectfully,
    Daniel in Brookline
