The Democrats… — 20 Comments

  1. The worst part about a new Democrat majority in the House is that the budget bills will now revert to continuing resolutions (CRs) as occurred from 2010. 2018 was the first year since 2010 that spending bills were taken up in proper order. Now it’s back to the same old dysfunctional budgeting/spending process.

Yes, the Democrat committee chairmen will deluge the White House with investigations. Not much governing is going to take place. It will be a circus. Constant attacks on Trump along with out of control spending via CRs. Unfortunately, we get the government we deserve. And we’re going to get it, good and hard. Buckle up.

  2. The market is down 500 pts. as the Dems take over the House. I wonder how many stories MSNBC and CNN will devote to this dreadful omen?

  3. Trump is counting on a Supreme Court decision that reverses the 9th circuit on DACA. Then he will negotiate the wall vs DACA. Of course, Roberts could go Souter on us. The Democrats are talking about foreign aid, of all things.

If they do not focus on real legislation, they will be self destructing. I doubt they will. Too many crazies.

  4. What will they do?

Since they have begun, so they believe, to smell the sweet odor of Trump’s blood, they will start circling (“turning and turning”) with increasing hysteria, as they behave even more insanely than they already have up until now (yes folks, it’s possible) so as to try to destroy the president with greater and greater vigor, lust and excitement.

(Because they are the moral party.)

In so doing, they will attempt to further destroy the Republic and its body politic.

(Because they are the moral party.)

Moreover, they will make so much noise, commotion and rioutous mayhem so as to make damn sure that the rampant Obama/Clinton criminal conspiracy to suborn the DOJ/FBI so as to chase down and hoist up Trump will be swept under the rug and go unpunished.

Oh wait. The MSM has been working overtime to ensure that the greatest political scandal in the country’s history will not see the light of day—in fact, the MSM has proven itself to be the “insurance policy” that takes over when the original “insurance policy” falters. That’s right, the old “meta-cover-up”…

(Because they are the moral party.)

The thrill is in the chase. Their rampant hysteria is clear evidence of their sheer virtue. The 24/7 hate must be perpetuated until Trump and his supporters are destroyed.

They will not stop until they have Trump tree-ed.

And the hell with the country.

Because they are indeed the moral party.

  5. Here, here, J.J.,

The primary responsibility for budgeting rests in the House. We know from the Obama experience that Dems have no intention of even considering tough (forget about responsible) budgeting decisions. It’ll just be CR after CR. Meanwhile, the interest on the debt is now bigger than our entire DoD budget, and getting bigger every day.

It’s sort of unimaginable. The single most important job they will have, the budget, and they will just say, Oh the dog ate my homework. And people will reelect them. Shame on us.

“Democrats have very good political discipline, too, …”

Seth Rich is shot dead on the streets of DC. We all know that was a robbery gone bad, except the police stated unequivocally a day or two after his death that it was not a robbery.

Donna Brazile has a micro-conversion and writes a book with a few harsh words for Dems. This is a very highly placed DNC person who said in her book that she began to make sure that her draperies were always fully closed. I don’t think any Dem powerbroker would be stupid enough to use a sniper on old Donna, so maybe that was book selling hyperbole.

Yeah, they got discipline all right. Lots of carrots and some very big sticks.

  6. Pelosi is as ruthless as ever in enforcing discipline in her caucus. Whether she can keep her own mind together is an open question.

  7. “…discipline…”

On the other hand, corralling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and like-minded woke-heads could well be the political equivalent of herding felines. And could be very entertaining….

And lest one forget just what motivates the Democrats and their MSM running dogs to win the hysteria sweepstakes, here’s Lee Smith with (another) recap:

  8. Ridicule is a potent weapon, and Trump is a master at it.

Couldn’t figure how to import the image into this comment, but Trump’s suggested red, white, and blue 2020 campaign logo for Elizabeth Warren features the name Warren in caps, centered, and blue against a white background, two swoosh lines under her name–one red, one blue–and, then, under that, and centered between two blue lines the fraction “1/2020th,” the one and slash in red, 2020 in blue, and the “th” in red again.

I thought that this was hilarious, and ought to be quite an effective piece of ridicule.

  9. Yes, the Democrat committee chairmen will deluge the White House with investigations.

Well, as the Lightbringer Himself has taught us, it is perfectly acceptable to slow walk document requests to Congress.

  10. They AND the MSM are celebrating the incoming Jew hating women. 2 Muslims and an apparent airhead. Moral party my ass.

  11. Seth Rich is shot dead on the streets of DC. We all know that was a robbery gone bad, except the police stated unequivocally a day or two after his death that it was not a robbery.

I would just like the hear from the medical resident who was excluded from ICU when Rich was bright in still alive.

  12. The resident (he or she) would be risking his/her career not to mention his/her life.
    We’re never gonna know.

  13. Ridicule is a potent weapon, and Trump is a master at it. –Snow on Pine

Yes, you are right, and it could be Trump’s saving grace in this. He is a better counter-puncher than he is on pure offense, and he’s pretty darn good on that latter. The economic data have unwound rapidly and the bond market says growth is over. Now the Democrats can own some of whatever comes on this ill wind. Trump will stick it all over them. A little dose of hardship might make the choice clearer.

  14. Advantage Trump. Trump’s agenda (Judicial appointments, reducing regulations, foreign and trade policy, and security) does not require much in the way of new legislation. The Democrats, aside from destroying Trump and the Republicans, are all about increased spending and new programs. As Paul Ryan said, you can’t do much with 1/2 of 1/3 of the government.

  15. Speaking of Paul Ryan, what a snake our aw shucks, “Republican” Howdy Doody turned out to be; his forthright and honest manner and apparent earnestness all just an act.

Outside of the tax cut, I can’t see any real accomplishments to his name.

Ryan didn’t put up any meaningful fight for conservative legislation that I saw, or oppose the Democrats.

Moreover, he lied his ass off about how he was going to get funding passed for the Wall.

In the end, he was just another swamp creature, another one of the anti-Trumpers, and he used his position as House Speaker to make sure that none of Trump’s initiatives had House legislation passed to support them.

  16. Tin-Hat Anonymous club note:
Lee Smith is a treasure, and is probably the one who needs to keep his drapes closed and double-locks on the doors.

  17. Snow — I could not agree more with your disappointment in Paul Ryan, above. That was a bonehead Boner move to insist only Ryan could succeed him as Speaker to help the Party. What a zero Ryan was, still smh-ing.
