  1. Open Thread – Saturday bonus? Russo-Ukrainian war analysis. But this time it really is about NATO and Vlad’s biggest own goal.

Another item for several files of evidence I have marked:

  3. On the subject of “what can we actually do to fight the left?”, a quote:

“…the onus now falls on the “deplorables” of the American Right to sober up and recognize that the United States is now at the point of no return when it comes to weaponizing governmental powers and partisan prosecutorial apparatuses to reward political friends and punish political enemies within the (sometimes highly debatable, as is the case here) confines of the rule of law. There is simply no choice but for the Right, and for Republican prosecutors in deep-red jurisdictions across the country, to prudentially and reasonably respond in kind, upping the ante further in the short- to mid-term in an attempt to ultimately de-escalate toward a long-term “mutually assured destruction” footing. Surely there is some creative and ambitious right-wing prosecutor in the Oklahoma Panhandle or West Texas who would like to summon Hunter Biden or Anthony Fauci out to “flyover country,” right?

Sometimes, the only way out is through.

And those “creative and ambitious right-wing prosecutors” can come from anywhere.

  4. Art Deco- Dream on!

As to Vicki Lawrence, what a beautiful story. Thanks, Neo!

…and “he” should be expected to do so…for the foreseeable future (i.e., forever).

  6. Art Deco,
That is good news there was enough pushback they cancelled the anti white lecture. I do think there is a growing boldness to push back on this stuff. Whether there are enough people is another question, but less people are going quietly into the night.
This wokeness is the left’s Achilles heal, if the right will make bold, clear stands against it and make the Democrats defend the wokesters.
We need to send moderates who get their news from mainstream media videos of Democrat politicians defending this stuff and videos of ” detranstioners” , etc.

  7. The Carol Burnett Show wasn’t on that long ago but it seems like it’s from a completely different era, a completely different world. I miss that world.

    Me too!

When I watch old film and television, I feel like an archaeologist.

  9. So, as a ricochet from my French project, I’m now reading/watching Tintin comics, Tintin tv shows and the Speilberg Tintin movie.

One might say Tintin is the answer to the question:

What if the Young Indiana Jones had been Belgian with a carrot-top pompadour, a cynical snowy white dog and had become an intrepid, investigative reporter with an apparently unlimited expense account?

If you’re a normal red-blooded American, you have no idea what I’m talking about. That’s OK.

Tintin is the title character of cartoon strip created by Hergé in 1929, then running until 1983, in the style of a 20s action-adventure serial, selling over 200 million books. On Hergé’s death, major French and Belgian newspapers devoted their front pages to the story.

I’ve seen Tintin reprints in comic stores, browsed them and wondered, “What in the world?” But now I’ve gotten into Tintin, in French and English, and it’s a weirdly addictive world.

Try Spielberg’s “The Adventures of Tintin” (2011). Fun for the whole family!

  10. An international court wants to set rules, to punish [larger,or wealthier, or developed countries], for the “damage” they have done. The court says this “damage” has caused “the climate change”.

This Court is The International Court of Justice.

Since this court’s position on climate change, + what causes it-
is NOT BASED ON SCIENCE, I am against this plan by the ICJ [court].

  11. Biden did a disastrous pullout from the War in Afghanistan.

Now, he’s trying to blame this military disaster on Trump.

No, Biden- YOU ALONE were in charge of the whole military.

You could’ve done the pullout in a proper, orderly fashion. All you needed to do was to order it.

    This was 100% your plan.

  13. om: Thanks for posting a link to that video. It’s one of the most informative videos on current strategic geopolitics I’ve ever seen.

Everyone else: You should watch it.

  14. yes that was a favorite of mine, as well, I didn’t like momma’s family all that much, which featured much of the same players, sans lyle waggoner,

  15. Here’s an answer to Perun’s question whether alliances atrophy.

From the Red State article: “Even France, our oldest ally, is now making concerning statements after Emmanuel Macron just came back from visiting with Chinese leader Xi Jinping.”

“Europe must reduce its dependency on the United States and avoid getting dragged into a confrontation between China and the U.S. over Taiwan”, French President Emmanuel Macron said in an interview on his plane back from a three-day state visit to China.”

“Speaking with POLITICO and two French journalists after spending around six hours with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his trip, Macron emphasized his pet theory of “strategic autonomy” for Europe, presumably led by France, to become a “third superpower.”

He said “the great risk” Europe faces is that it “gets caught up in crises that are not ours, which prevents it from building its strategic autonomy,” while flying from Beijing to Guangzhou, in southern China, aboard COTAM Unité, France’s Air Force One.”

“He also suggested Europe should reduce its dependence on the “extraterritoriality of the U.S. dollar,” a key policy objective of both Moscow and Beijing.”

Macron’s Words After Meeting With Xi Are So Bad, They Should Be Setting off Alarms for U.S. And Taiwan
