They just keep lying. The peak of the current case counts, nationally, happened about 50 days ago. For the past 20 days they have risen slightly to about a third of what the count was 50 days ago. Just some more variants. It’s evolved into just another damn flu bug.
In terms of actual deaths: CT at 2.5/day, GA at 5/day, NC at 3/day etc. Now for comparison, here’s the death count due to other causes for those states: GA 280/day, CT 104/day, NC 300/day. So Covid now accounts for a whopping average of 0.77% of all those deaths in those 3 states.
And I still see people wearing masks.

I’ll let you know if my husband or I get it. We got the original in March of 2020 and have the serologically tested IGG antibodies. We haven’t worn masks, except thin cotton ones when they were absolutely required, we have not received any of the vaccines, nor have we practiced social distancing in sane environments and have not missed a holiday, birthday or any celebration since we recovered. We have done plane travel and Uber when needed. He had one cold, I’ve had 2 since then. Mild and we never tested ourselves so no chance of errant information there.

Take into account that the latest variants are quite contagious but as the article above indicates, symptoms are generally not that terrible and often relatively light. There are exceptions, however.
Essentially, it’s become just(!) another virus (as many claimed it would), though some people who catch it find it tough going, nonetheless.
I caught one of the initial variants in Jan. 2021 and fortunately had a mild case.
I refused to vaccinate, took Quercetin, zinc and Vitamins C and D regularly and somehow caught it again in May 2022, once again with mild symptoms. Must have been the early Omicron variant. I was a bit annoyed (after all that Quercetin and stuff I was taking) but I guess the natural immunity wore off after 15 or so months….
Maybe I was just lucky; but I don’t believe that the current levels of morbidity and serious symptoms, justify another round of COVID “terror”; e.g., vaccinating kids was ALWAYS insane and now it’s even more so. (What MAY WELL “justify” another round of terror might be defined as the Democratic Party’s need to win the upcoming elections—and the need of other governments (e.g., Canada, the EU) to sow fear in order to exert control.)
Not that I’m an epidemiologist or an MD or anything…
