My wife and I went out to vote yesterday and the turnout for early voting in our town, Boerne, Texas has been great, parking lot has been packed most of the day each and every day. We are in a mostly conservative town and we stay friends and tolerate those who think differently. I was reminded of a friend I had ten years ago in 2016 when I was helping with a cancer support group at our church.

This friend of mine was my age and his prostate cancer had come back years after his first treatment. This time of year during early voting he was talking to me and he said that the crazy choices for president were the strangest he had seen in his life time and he voted early, just in case he didn't make it. We laughed about that and I am sorry to say that by the time the election occurred he had not made it. Folks joke about that stuff but this moving on thing keeps happening as we age on out. So my conservative friend cast his last vote in 2016, a decade ago and that was a wild night as the votes came in. My grown conservative kids, daughter now in her late 40's in Michigan and son in his 50's in Colorado joined me in a conference call in the early morning hours and we were all pleased with the outcome as Trump was declared. We had all voted Democrat before 9-11 and then voted for W Bush after that, he has been a disappointment for sure.

Vote early if you can, just in case.

The Federalist, Chuck DeVore, "The DSA Plans To Incite Nationwide Violence Ahead Of 2028 Election"
https://thefederalist.com/2026/10/23/the-dsa-plans-to-incite-nationwide-violence-ahead-of-2028-election/

Over on X, DataRepublican’s reporting on documents and recordings from the Democratic Socialists of America and allied networks lays out a calculated strategy for the run-up to the 2028 elections. The goal is sustained mass violence and street clashes designed to push President Donald Trump into invoking the Insurrection Act. Once invoked, Democratic governors and progressive organizations would treat the order itself as evidence of “fascism” and a reason to undermine federal authority.

Groups including the United Democracy Alliance, invoking Erica Chenoweth’s 3.5 percent rule, appear ready to coordinate the street actions, legal support, and media framing. Neville Roy Singham, operating from Shanghai and connected to the Chinese Communist Party’s United Front Work Department, is positioned to amplify the disruption from abroad.

The plan assumes Trump will choose immediate order over patience, and hand his opponents the optics they have prepared. Whether that assumption holds depends on the costs of each path.
